My mum has been in Priestley Care Home for a year now. She has settled well and has been looked after really well. All staff are excellent, they are very friendly, caring and really helpful. When Mum is unwell, they call doctors and always inform me. They have lovely events to keep them entertained.
Reply from Michael Wood, Content Marketing Manager at Priestley Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words and feedback about the care your mum has received at Priestley Care Home. We are thrilled to hear that both your mum and your family have had a positive experience with us, especially around care and activities. Your comments are much appreciated.

My brother as been here fir over a yr but the last 4 wks as been in hospital. To be told yesterday by the staff at the hospital they wouldn't take Darren back which I understand his needs ave changed now but me as his sister and our family beleive from Darren been admitted to hospital they ad ni intentions
of taking him back so we are disgusted the way they went about it not even management ad the decency to contact us we are very upset over this as a family if they had told us 3 wks ago we could ave got stuff sorted for my brother now he as to stay in hospital until we can find some where suitable for him.As for the staff especially kelly Donna Lauren and Courtney we couldn't ave asked for better than them girls the care they gave Darren was lovely allways there to help him or us as a family so we thank them so much but definitely not the management.
Reply from Michael Wood, Content Marketing Manager at Highfield Care CentreThank you for taking time to complete a review for our home, including the positive mentions of our care team. We are sorry that we were not able to accept your brother back to our home after a hospital stay. It's not a decision we take lightly but as he needed nursing care, it would have been unsafe to bring him back. We are sorry that you feel we fell short of your expectations, if you would like speak about this in more detail, our Home Manager would be happy to be contacted.

Deputy manager and all team members I have found them to understand all residents' needs and show compassion and are treated with respect and dignity. Nothing is too much trouble and are kept well informed. The home is clean and welcoming, safe, secure environment. Various activities for residents to
participate in to keep them occupied and brain active daily. Entertainment at various times. All staff know residents' names and if they need help will get relevant team members. Food if they don't like what is on menu for the day they provide alternatives. All staff are always smiling and are good at making myself feel that my relative is well cared for. Well done Priestley management should be proud of staff.

Kitchen: they alway go that extra mile.
Care/support: very caring with mum and give excellent support to the rest of the family.
Staff: there is a fantastic team at Priestley nothing is too much trouble. When mum as a bad day. They can handle her so well. But there is 5% of the staff. Where the
care is not at the same standard.
Management: I have hot met the ladie incharge due to illness (I wish her all the best) but Josh as really step up. He is so passionate about the home. (You need to look after him, we don't want him headhunted)

Although the care is generally good, it can vary at the times when agency staff have to be used. I have rated the food very poor because of the quality of the food. The kitchen staff do their best.
Reply from Joanne Davy, Home Manager at The HawthornesThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience with the food did not meet your expectations.
We regularly review our menus, hold resident feedback meetings, and make adjustments based on preferences and suggestions. Your comments have been shared with our kitchen team so that we can look carefully at where we can do better.
We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you further and understand more about your concerns. Please feel free to contact the home directly so we can address this personally.

The staff are fantastic. The level of care and kindness is great. We do always have to come and visit at meal times, as my nan requires her food to be cut up, and this regularly isn't done. The accommodation is always spotless, and my nan really enjoys the activities. Overall, it's taken her a while
to settle in, but she is very happy and settled now, thanks to the staff. Meals could be plated better, e.g., peas on the side.

My sister's room and bedding is always lovely and clean, the food is really good, all the staff are great, she is always nice and clean. They need more staff on shift, 4 would be better on each floor, as staff have to feed people as the dementia gets worse. I go and feed my sister at tea time. If someone
is poorly, it takes away one staff if an ambulance has to come.
