My mother in law has been in Maple Court for respite care due to an episode of delirium. She has also been on respite for 1 week and 2 week stays early in the year. The staff have been amazing and couldn't have been more helpful. Due to her recent care we now feel she is happier and settled, and have
made the decision that she will stay at Maple Court as we know she will be well cared for and have a happier life.

Dad had been deteriorating quite rapidly after his bowel cancer diagnosis, he had also had a couple of falls and fractured his hip, which required surgery. The care that he received in Maple Court was to a high standard. They did their utmost best to prevent more falls, they also kept me informed at
all times. The manager was very concerned and always put his best interests and wishes first.

A friendly, clean and bright experience when first entering Maple Court Care Home. The lift up to the dementia floor can at times feel daunting, as sometimes, some of the residents can be unsettled, which makes me appreciate the wonderful, caring effort that the care home staff put in to looking after
and providing such good care to all the residents, no matter what stage they are at with their illness. All the staff I have met are very professional, caring and give off excellent vibes to all residents and visitors. A first-class care home.

Dad's needs have been looked after and he has quickly been moved onto the lower floor and is now much happier. All the staff have been excellent. Nothing too much trouble including a staff member getting dads daily paper from the local shop. I feel very comfortable that he is very safe in this environment.

About August, September last year, things were a bit lapst and didn't always like what we saw. My mother-in-law wasn't dressed, very nice, hair a mess, plus heavily soiled on her legs. But now wow how things have changed, it's so lovely to visit lovely decoration lovely and clean. My mother-in-law is
dressed just like the lady we know. Before staff would tell us about appointments but when we went the staff that told us had no clue. Plus mum say's all the time how she likes it at Maple Court, and how kind everyone is. That makes us very happy.

my father in law passed away in last August and our experience was so bad we pot a Complaint in to the CQC.
Since the New Manageress has arrived thing's have been noticeably better in an area's my stepmother has been looked after very well and we now feel that the home has a manager who can cope very
well with all aspects. She's very approachable and as are many of the staff. We feel much Happier as a family, many thanks.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful when my Grandmother first moved into the home at the end of last year. They made her feel very welcome and were very reassuring.
The carers I have come into contact with are always incredible and since she has moved in she is looking so much healthier, eating
well and is getting around more with their support.
They have recently started trying to get the residents to partake in more activities which is lovely. I think if they could have an outdoor area that was accessible to them if they wanted to sit outside with family would be great.
There have been days where I will try to visit after I have finished work and after the residents tea time but on a few of those occasions there is no one there to let you in the building (very aware that it will be a busy time for the carers and there is no one at fault). Maybe making sure someone has a phone to hand so that people can get in touch would be helpful in those instances.

Overall we are pleased and have no complaints about Maple Court, mother always presents clean, tidy, well groomed, clothes nice. She is mostly content and seems to enjoy the company of carers/ other residents. Minor point, catheter care is a bit hit and miss, maybe staff need more education regarding
hygiene, placement and emptying of leg bags etc? Activities are improving and the home seems better managed recently. Food good, staff are friendly, helpful, polite and caring. Pressure area and skin care are good… there seems to be good liaison with community nursing staff.

All of the staff have been very kind to Mum and kept me informed whilst she has been poorly over the last few days. They recognised early that Mum was brewing an infection and organised for her to be reviewed and antibiotics prescribed even on a Sunday afternoon thus preventing a hospital admission.

My 88-year-old mother moved into Maple Court on December 16th, straight away I felt this was where she needed to be. The caring staff are simply fantastic. They should have great dignity with the residents and I know my mum is cared for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a warm friendly, caring environment.
I can sleep well at night.

The staff here have always treated my mum with dignity. She is very well looked after, she gets personal care daily, she is out in her chair with the other residents, the meals are home-cooked, the Sunday dinners are lovely.
The staff are always respectful and kind to both Mum and myself. We have
gotten to know them by their first names. She has been here for a number of years now both upstairs and now downstairs. Her room is always clean and tidy.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Maple Court for about 8 months. When she first arrived, she could not walk, struggled to speak and refused to eat.
From the minute she moved to Maple Court she has seemed happier than we have seen her in a long time. She has gone from being bedbound to walking
with a frame around the building. She now chats happily and is eating well. We feel we have got our mother back and enjoy visiting her. We are now able to take her out on short trips, which is something we never imagined would be possible.
The staff at Maple Court truly care about the residents and we can not thank them enough for the care they have given to her. They have literally turned her life around. Staff always seem happy and friendly and take a genuine interest in the residents and their families. I can not rate them highly enough.
Thank you for all you do and for keeping our mother safe and well.

Needs shutting down by the Care Quality Commission. From what I witnessed people are simply neglected. There is no care. There are no activities. Staff being investigated by the police for assault. Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.456)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.456) out of 10 for Maple Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.456 for Maple Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (187 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (18 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 261 Ratings = 4.456
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Maple Court Care Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
