My husband left in November 2023 and is settled in another care home. I had reason to go back to Maple Court to pick up a document last month. The place smelled of urine and garlic - it was 10:30 am. I was told the chef left months ago and a carer - not a qualified cook - had taken over in the kitchen. No one cares at all. I felt sorry for the lovely residents.

Very pleased with the overall care. Suggestions for improvement - room spray to mask smells in corridors. More private small rooms for the family to play games, colour in etc with residents. More activities ie dominoes played with residents, chair yoga etc.

We have employed a new team of activities leads during January and we are making the quiet room (in addition to the conservatory) available month round in order that visitors can spend private time with their loved ones away from the bedrooms and lounges. It was good to see the same members of staff as they tried very hard to get her to eat and take her tablets and supplements as her dementia was getting worse. Towards the end of her life, she was bedbound, and they looked after her very well, regarding keeping her clean and assisting when needed to open her bowels, etc. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to friends and family.
