My husband is in the dementia unit. He has settled in and seems happy and some carers are very good but some don't interact with the residents. It needs a lot of TLC and the gardens are awful and not nice to sit in. The dining floor and tables are sometimes dirty when I visit him. The dementia unit seems to be forgotten and nothing happens in the afternoon they all fall asleep. I think lack of staff is a lot of the problem.

Thank you for taking the time to share this, and we're pleased your husband has settled into the Eastholme community and seems happy. The points you raise about staff interaction, cleanliness in the dining area, the gardens and afternoon engagement are important, and they'll be reviewed with the...

Kelly and her Team stepped in quickly when i approached them regarding someone that we were supporting in the Community whose needs had changed.
They have now been staying at The Limes for almost two weeks and the full-time support provided has had a very positive impact on their health and well-being.

It was lovely to see the difference this has made to their lives and the smiles say it all.

My mother has alzheimers and sundowning. She was in the Limes and as soon as she was put in the residential side the manager decided she wanted her into the dementia unit. After a few falls she was taken to hospital, luckily no broken bones just bruising. Once in the hospital, even though her physical and mental health had not changed they refused to take her back. Now she is in hospital without a place to go. The doctor had prescribed her some calming medication but they hadn't started giving it to her. I feel my mother has been profoundly let down by the management of the Limes. The carers who actually took care of my mother were so lovely. Very caring and understanding of her needs. I feel that it's the managing side of the care home that has failed her. It's so sad and upsetting.

Your website may say a different picture to what I witnessed today, you images picture a perfect setting. Which is far from reality, absolutely a disgrace, agency carers which don't even have the key code to access the recreational area, is a disgrace, the conditions they are living in, is appallingly poor, furniture from the 1960s even a charity shop would not engage in taking, 1 member of staff who sat on his bottom in the whole time been there also showing a black eye showed no interaction with patients, and when asked upon to help change a patient his reply was ' I need a break' you been sat on your bottom for 30 minutes, and you need a break, DUTY of care seems a joke, poorly run is an understatement to say the least, was told by 1 member of staff when I asked to use the toilet was replied with' don't use them there disgusting' which I was escorted to some toilet I would not let a dog in, the whole recreational area just stunk of stale urine, no fresh air nothing, awful place

My husbands care has been quite good, pro-active for calling for extra medical care is good. I have on one occasion found his room to be below par regarding cleanliness but the staff are friendly + seem to care very much for Tony's well being.

My Dad has been at the Limes for two years now.
He has mild dementia, so is not in the dementia unit.
I visit at least every other day and I am very impressed by every single member of staff. Everyone knows me, greets me by name, and they treat all the residents with respect, incredible patience, care and all as individuals - adapting their approach appropriately.
The staff respond to needs, requests and worries with speed, care - and tolerance when required. They are very supportive of relatives too - and friendly.
I receive updates of even very minor health issues.
There are varied activities and social events for families and residents plus resident/family meetings all of which are well advertised.
I chose The Limes which requires travelling for over an hour a visit, as I considered the level of care much higher than several closer alternatives. I am so pleased I did.

THANK YOU to all the staff at the Limes - you are amazing. I couldn't do it - that's what Dad is with you!
