My mum has not been a resident here very long but I can already see that the staff have made her part of their family. She always appears clean and tidy and has had to be bought numerous new clothes due to gaining weight as a result of lovely meals and a constant supply of tea and biscuits, which in
my eyes is always a bonus. My mum sometimes can be quite challenging with her dementia but the staff seem to diffuse the situation and nothing seems too much trouble. The home is dementia friendly and very enriching for those who walk with purpose throughout the day or night so their minds are active all the time, which was a selling factor for us as a lot of homes are too clinical. Family members are always made welcome before the COVID outbreak and provision has been put into place as soon as was able, to see our loved ones.

The Limes provides a wonderful and caring service. The staff here are excellent, nothing is ever too much for them. They give a loving and caring service, ensuring that my family and I do not have to worry about how our mum/grandma is keeping. She is always happy and well cared for. The staff always
go the extra mile for her and take great care and pride in ensuring she is happy, clean and well dressed. We could not ask for a better caring environment, we appreciate all that is done for her and feel extremely fortunate that she is in such a lovely place with such kind and caring staff. When we visit we are always greeted and looked after by the cheery, friendly staff. My family and I would recommend The Limes to anyone looking for the best.

My wife has early-onset dementia and is probably one of the youngest residents at The Limes. Her relatively young age may be an advantage as she believes she is working there and the manager and the team have made my wife very welcome. It's an incredibly difficult decision to put a loved one into a
care environment but, when you see them happy and settled it makes that decision bearable.
I can't thank the manager and her staff enough for helping my wife settle in and making her smile through what have been difficult times. Thank you.

Sincere thanks to every member of staff at The Limes Residential Home for the care, support and kindness shown to the resident in the six years that she lived at the home. With special thanks to the manager, who saw the person and not the diagnosis and provided her with the safe and secure home that
she desperately needed.
There are things that money cannot buy and the resident was lucky enough to meet these kind and generous people. Deepest gratitude.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother was a resident at The Limes care home for her last seven years. During that time I found the staff to be sympathetic and mindful of the needs of their residents. In often difficult circumstances I found them to be approachable and ready to take action when required.
The home is well run and
the staff are trained and experienced. There is a good range of activities available to the residents and outside services such as chiropodists and hairdressers visit frequently.
When a family member needs care you need to be able to rely on the care home to provide fully for their needs. I rarely had any concerns and those that I did were addressed promptly.
I found communication with the home to be excellent. The end of life process was dealt with tactfully and with great understanding and compassion.
I would recommend this care home to any family needing care for an elderly relative.

Both my parents are in The Limes, with my mum being in the specialist EMI unit. I am very happy with the care they receive and I know they are safe and well looked after. Everyone is so caring and I am always kept well informed about them. I was a regular visitor before COVID and was always made very
welcome.

My Grandma lived at The Limes for just over 3 years before she sadly passed away. She was very fond of the staff and was very happy there as she grew to be a big part of The Limes community. I’d personally like to thank all the staff for ensuring her happiness - you’re all very special people. Carry
on with the good work!

My father has dementia which at times leads to challenging behaviour, which his previous care home had been unable to deal with. The manager at The Limes ensured that all the necessary care teams were involved so that his needs were met, and he is now much happier and calmer. He is comfortable and enjoys
banter with the staff. I am confident that he is well cared for, and that staff will contact me if necessary. He tells me that the food is good, and often remarks that the place is very clean.

My mum was accepted by The Limes following a stay in hospital following a fall. Initially, it was for some respite care but she is so happy there, she wishes to stay as feels now she would not be able to cope at home on her own.
The care my mum receives is excellent everyone is really helpful and friendly.
Their activities coordinators ensure that they are kept stimulated with a variety of activities which all seem to enjoy.
The food is of a high standard and certainly plentiful, mum really enjoys her food and is more than happy with the choices.
The staff are all very caring and nothing seems too much trouble for them.
I never wanted mum to go into a care home mainly because I had always promised my dad I would look after her after he died. But The Limes have been great and now I feel mum is in a safe place and her choice to stay there.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.524)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.524) out of 10 for The Limes is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.524 for The Limes is calculated as follows: ( (213 Excellents x 5) + (68 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 309 Ratings = 4.524
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Limes is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 97 registered maximum number of service users is 19.4, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
