Choosing a home for Mum was made extremely difficult by the limitations placed on visiting during the pandemic. My sister and I had visited other homes, but as soon as we drove into the car park of The Limes, we immediately felt this was the right place for Mum. We were unable to look around, but having
spoken to the manager, we were reassured and Mum became a resident in October 2020. Whenever we ring the home, the staff are pleasant, helpful and supportive. They proactively ring us if there are any issues with Mum and keep us informed of her care. The staff that I have met on Skype calls and since visits have been allowed have always been cheerful, caring of Mum, full of warmth and aware of her needs. All the staff give the impression that they love the work they do, and that gives the home a happy and welcoming feel. I feel that Mum is treated as an individual, and I can not thank the home enough for all they do for her and the family.

During the worst health crisis of our lifetimes and well beyond, the management and staff at The Limes have gone repeatedly above and beyond anything which could be reasonably asked. Words, fail me quite frankly, and it's a challenge to express my gratitude for the care, compassion and understanding
shown to my aged mother. The challenges faced every minute of every day have been monumental. There have been recent positive Covid cases at The Limes. It's nothing short of miraculous that the staff have kept it at bay for so long. They are a magnificent team and deserve so much credit. It's been extremely difficult to ensure visiting in the hiatus between lockdowns, but every effort has been made to ensure that residents are able to see their loved ones whenever this has been possible. If my mother has any well being or medical issues, the staff make contact to inform me of what's transpired. I'm humbled by their skills and genuine compassion. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The staff are warm, caring and welcoming. Going into care was not easy for Mum, but she was well supported, as were we her family during the time of adjusting to the huge change and afterwards.
The home is really well run and has a good culture. It was possible to have frequent discussions and debates
about Mum's care, and this resulted in collaborative care. I really felt like the staff had Mum's best interests at the heart of their care provision.

I have found the manageress and staff very supportive of my husband since he moved into this home in January 2020. He has settled very well here and is much more comfortable with his status un case since he has been here, which has been a vast improvement in his general demeanor from the previous care
home and less stressful for me The home is beautifully looked after, as is my husband and the staff is friendly and caring.

My dad has lived at The Limes for over 3 years. It is a truly special place. He is so lucky to have been placed there. All the staff are kind and patient and good-humoured. The home is clean and fresh and the decor is jolly! The hard work by everyone during the pandemic is much appreciated.

My dad was in The Limes for under a year but in that time he was well looked after. The care was really good, he always looked clean and tidy. The care staff listened to what the family asked which benefited well as it kept my dad from giving up walking too soon. Any health issues or doctor visits the
seniors always rang to inform me of what was happening and that he was getting the treatment that he deserved. If my dad was feeling down then staff would always sit and talk with him until he felt better. They encouraged him to eat meals even when he wasn't sure if he wanted anything and they catered to his dietary needs. The home was always clean and tidy and no funny smells. He had a lovely room with lots of space and let in lots of sunlight, and enough room for a lot of family members could fit in when visiting. The family was happy with the way he was looked after and liked that everyone was involved from the management to the care staff.

Our Dad was made to feel at "home" and us alike. All the staff were sympathetic to his needs and looked after him over a seven month period with excellent care and attention. The staff go above and beyond what you would consider their job to be, as it appears to us looking in that it is not "just a
job", they really do "care". The detail to the decoration and, surroundings reflects in the pride and excellent leadership. During lockdown things have been hard for all, but where possible we as a family have been met with our needs also. Our Dad spent a lot of time in his comfortable room and was encouraged by staff and family to continue his literature. We feel comfortable in the knowledge that his last days were made easier by having wonderful people around him. I would highly recommend this residential home.

The Limes is a very well run care home. everyone of the staff makes myself and family members very welcome. They have been so good with our mother and look after her needs. The manager is a person who makes it easy to ask questions or concerns about mum. Due to the virus they have all been under so
much pressure but have never shown it to us.

My grandad was in The Limes for just under a year, before he sadly passed away. The care that he received was really good. He always looked smart and well shaven. The food was good and went well with his dietary needs. He liked talking and laughing with the care staff. The staff went above and beyond
when it came to my wedding day, grandad was unable to attend as he was end of life care. The staff had got him all dressed up in his suit by his request. Which, I then came to see him on my way to the Church where the staff had arranged for him to give me a flower. This will always be a memory that I will always cherish.

Although I’ve stated June 2020, my mother has been a resident at The Limes, Driffield for four years. A lovely home from home atmosphere, where my mother soon settled in. The staff are exemplary, go out of their way to make sure the resident’s needs are met and the resident happy and content, with regular
updates for next of kin. The home itself is very clean and decorating and furnishings constantly updated. The staff are just one big happy family and are welcoming to visitors.

My Aunt has been in the Limes for 7-8 years and we have been extremely happy with the care and attention given to her. She has been accommodated well with her needs as she has never mixed well with other people around her and struggles to join in with activities. The staff have always encouraged her
to participate. The Home is extremely clean and tidy. I have outlined the date as March 2020 but the range is cover up to July 2020 which covers the lockdown for COVID and the difficult period of time that Homes had to keep residents even more safe because of the dreaded virus. We were updated by the Manager of the Home on how my Aunt was coping as well as her trip to hospital after a fall whereby she had to spend a night within the hospital. The attention to detail continues with the Home being opened up to one member of a family to visit which is in an outside area and works extremely well. My Uncle is now back to seeing his wife each week which has reduced his own anxiousness.

As a daughter of a beloved mum, it is an incredibly hard decision to enter a loved one into a care home. The Limes were incredibly supportive to both mum and family in understanding how difficult this transition is and did everything in their considerable professional knowledge and care to successfully
ease this difficult time. Mum is treated with dignity and respect as an individual and her own personal needs and preferences are always well catered for. Mum has numerous complex medical needs which are well monitored and dealt with in an efficient and caring manner. The Limes have strong leadership and have an open, supportive and caring attitude towards communications with both mum and family. Mum really enjoys the freshly cooked food and the regular entertainment on offer, she has also enjoyed making new friends at The Limes too. Above all and most importantly, mum is happy, settled and safe at The Limes in a clean, light, bright and caring environment.

My dad has been a resident in the Limes for nearly five years, during that time, I have always been delighted with the care that he receives. Dad has dementia and needs help with every aspect of life; the staff have been amazing, always putting his needs at the forefront of any decisions made. They
have sourced a specialist bed to prevent bedsores and a wheelchair specifically fitted for my dad's comfort.

I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful and caring service The Limes provides. We had visited many care homes beforehand, but as soon as we walked into The Limes, we knew this is where Mum should be. My mum has been a resident here now for three years and she is not the easiest of patients to
deal with, but the loving and caring service they provide is fantastic. The staff not only provide a loving and caring service for Mum and all the other residents but have always been there with support for my family and myself, for this, I am truly grateful. Mum is in a clean, safe and happy environment. I cannot recommend The Limes highly enough and could not ask for a better, caring environment. It is a tribute to the kind, caring and should I say very patient staff. I wouldn't want Mum anywhere else and I thank you all at the Limes for everything you do.

My dad has been in The Limes for just over a year now, he was previously in a care home in Scarborough where he was very settled, but after the death of his wife, we asked him if he might like to live closer to me. He had one trial afternoon visit and decided on the spot to move!
He has dementia with
complications from other health issues and it takes a bit of getting to know his routine, which the staff managed to do immediately. He gets very regular UTI's which need recognising in the early stages, and the staff have come to know the signs and test him regularly, and so have kept on top of things.
The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, and the place is clean, airy and it's been so lovely to see the transformation of the dementia unit. It's now so cheerful, tactile and welcoming.
I feel many of the staff have got to know Dad well and can anticipate his needs. During lockdown we have been able to Skype, and communication has been good. Enjoying being able to visit now.

My mother has been in The Limes for around a year. It was not her first care home, but it is certainly her best. She has dementia and has been agitated and worried for a couple of years. Since moving into The Limes she is noticeably more content and seems genuinely happy. The staff are lovely and genuinely
care. When Mum first moved in, not only was she made welcome, but I was asked how I was coping with her condition. Nowhere else has ever asked me, I was surprised and pleased. When I visit I sometimes talk to other residents, they also seem very well looked after and many have told me how much they like it there.
The manager is excellent, we are always kept well informed about Mum's condition and if she needs anything or if anything is wrong with her. I frequently recommend The Limes to people and am so happy we found it.

Although it was a difficult and sad decision when he needed full-time care, the staff made the process much easier by welcoming Dad and making him very comfortable. The home is bright and airy and the food is of a good standard. The management
are approachable, and the staff work extremely hard. There are activities to join in with if residents choose to do so. All special occasions are celebrated, which is lovely to see.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.524)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.524) out of 10 for The Limes is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.524 for The Limes is calculated as follows: ( (213 Excellents x 5) + (68 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 309 Ratings = 4.524
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Limes is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 97 registered maximum number of service users is 19.4, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
