Alexandra Court

Quite a few issues need addressing, ie care, can be intermittant as not enough staff-patient ratio in my opinion, when buzzers ring often it can be up to 30mins response which is poor & not good enough. Meals are not on time as stated often run 30 mins late and food sometimes nearly cold barely lukewarm, management told but nothing done!! At nearly 6 thousand a month very poor for the money I'm afraid hence why we are leaving.

Mum recently had a short stay in hospital with pneumonia. When she came out, she was still recovering. The staff looked after her exceptionally well during this time, a hospital bed was even provided for her. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you all so very much.

This is the first time we have used a care home, and the staff have all been amazing and put our minds completely at ease. They are all an absolute credit to your company. The food is excellent, and the variety of activities you offer. Everywhere is always spotlessly clean, and it feels so homely. Management are all so helpful, and nothing is ever too much. I couldn't recommend this care home more and wouldn't hesitate to use you again. Thank you all so much.

My mum has been in respite here for 10 days. She has thoroughly enjoyed her stay here. She has enjoyed the food and the staff are lovely, very helpful and caring.

This was my husbands second stay at Alexandra Court. Accommodation and facilities were great. Staff very helpful, attentive and caring. Food very good. My husband will be happy to return as and when necessary. Thank you to everyone involved in his care.

Outstanding care. We had to find a home for my aunt at short notice so she could be transferred directly. Alexander Court was recommended. We could not have been happier with the care she received. Friendly, professional and so caring. She died (expectedly) after 5 months and with District Nurse Care, along with the care home she was managed and supported throughout her final days. I am so happy my mum has found her new home here after a very bad experience previously. For someone who was so vehemently against living in a care home I actually believe she prefers it to being in her own! The care which is genuine cannot be surpassed. They are person-centred and responsive to her needs- which are many and complex in nature. I could go on but in short excellent- thank you to all staff.

Everyone here is so pleasant and nothing is too much trouble, as a visitor I am always offered a meal if I want one and a drink or ice cream when we sit out in the sun. We are looked after so as a wife I have peace of mind.

As a family we are very impressed with the quality of staff at Alexandra Court. They are extremely professional and caring. They treat Mum with the utmost respect, going above and beyond to make sure that she is as happy and comfortable as possible. They are all extremely welcoming to family and communicate well with us about Mum's welfare.

Dad's safety is our absolute priority and we know that Alexandra Court provides the perfect safe environment for all his care needs. We are incredibly lucky that Dad remains under the care of your wonderful caring staff.

Generally speaking, my Mum is happy here. She has a light and airy suite, the staff are friendly, kind and helpful, meals are OK and there are activities organised. Of the facilities in the local area, this came top of our list when we were looking for care for my Mum. The only issues that have arisen are when room or building maintenance is required. This is managed by the head office in Leeds and is generally poorly organised.

The staff are all very helpful and pleasant. Meals are varied and can be adapted where needed. My flat has a pleasant outlook of the gardens. I can ask for help wherever I am in my flat if needed using the assistance call bell.

My dad moved to Alexandra Court in October after a tough 12 months in his own home. It was a massive decision for him, as it is for any person who admits that they finally need care. He was welcomed with open arms by an amazing team of staff. He has been poorly since he took up residence, but our family have been so thankful for the staff who have looked after him with patience, kindness and such good humour. He thinks the world of each and every one of them. It is such a relief to know that he is safe. He is still getting used to the idea that there are people there to help him whenever he needs it and that he will have hot meals provided everyday. I would also like to extend our thanks to the staff for taking care of us as well. The manager and the team have realised how worrying it has been and have looked after us with compassion and understanding. The staff team make sure that we are fed and watered when we have stayed with Dad, during times when he has been poorly. Thank you.

My father-in-law sadly suffers with Parkinson's disease and has been in several care homes over the past few years. Some of these care homes, unfortunately, fell short in standards of care and left him feeling hopeless and without dignity. I can honestly say that the Alexandra Court care home have turned this around. The level of care he receives is nothing short of outstanding. I haven't only witnessed this with my father-in-law, but other residents also. The home is spotless and is very well maintained. The food looks as though it comes from a 5* restaurant. Every single member of staff we have come into contact with has been friendly, professional and caring; I'd describe them as angels on earth. They have given my father-in-law his dignity back and have also provided reassurance to myself and my wife. I can not thank the staff enough. In my opinion, Alexandra Court has to be one of, if not the best care homes in the UK. I have not one negative word to say about Alexandra Court.
