My parents were truly happy in the last few months of their lives because of the care and love they received from all the staff at Alexandra Court care home. My father was 92 and my mother 90 when we finally persuaded them to move into a care home. Each resident had a large bedroom, en suite wet room toilet, a large furnished lounge and a small kitchen. It meant our mum and dad could join in with the other residents in the communal lounge and dining rooms but they could also close the door of their flat and have private time together in their own flat. Everything we were told about the home was 100% true. The staff are fantastic, each and every one, they cared completely, they helped make sure my mum and dad had everything they needed but also, they had friends in the staff, people that my mum and dad looked forward to seeing every day. They have a gift in the way they cared.
From enquiring about respite for my mum after an operation, nothing has been too much trouble and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. After only being in for respite for a few days, Mum decided that she liked it that much that she wanted to stay permanently. She liked the fact that she could have meals either in her flat or in the dining room and that there were choices for each meal and if there was nothing she liked, the staff would make something her liking instead. She also liked the fact that there was always somebody around in the background and the staff popped in to regularly check on her. The manager has been so kind and approachable regarding any concerns we've had. The activities are really good for mingling and engaging with other residents, especially the Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations. A credit to all the staff. There is a lovely homely feel and the flats are nicely decorated with provisions for personal effects and furnishings.
My 93-year-old mother has been having respite care in Alexandra Court for five weeks now and will be staying on a permanent basis. This is because we are so pleased with the care that she is receiving, the attention to detail from cleanliness to dealing with her medical needs is impressive. She regularly comments on this herself. She looks forward to her meals in the lovely dining room. Most important of all, all of the staff have been wonderful to her. Kind and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. This has really helped her settle in and relieved a lot of the anxieties that she had on leaving her home.
Alexandra Court is a lovely home with excellent and caring staff. They have looked after our Mother since she arrived in August of 2021and many of the staff have formed a strong and good-humoured relationship with her. They were also extremely helpful for the short period of our Father's stay at the home and very empathetic with our Mother and family members on his death, they could not have done more. The home is kept well and in good condition and the apartment is spacious and well maintained. Visitors to our Mother have always been made welcome. Any business is only as good as the team working there and the team are outstanding. We are very pleased with Alexandra Court as a home for our Mother.
Thank you for the kind review and we are pleased to know that our services meet your expectations, we have a variety of activities that take place at Alexandra Court and do endeavour to accommodate all residents' needs, wants, and wishes, including one to one activities and group activities. Our...
On the whole, I have been looked after well. I still think your charges are much too high.
Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to hear that staff are excellent and that you are happy with the services that we provide. Our charges reflect the quality of our social dynamics within Alexandra Court this includes not only the best-qualified staff but also an inclusive community focusing on the needs, wishes, and wants of our residents.
My mum has been living at Alexandra Court for over 4 years. She is very happy here and the family sincerely believe her life has been extended and enriched by it. All the staff are extremely caring and respectful, very much a family atmosphere. We are always welcomed by the staff when we visit, it is a pleasure. My mum likes her food and says that the cook is fantastic. Thank you all.
My mother needed unexpected care and Alexandra Court gave her a warm welcome and tried hard to settle her in. She was treated well and thought the staff were helpful and friendly. She enjoyed the food and was taken to some of the in-house entertainment.
My uncle spent six months here after a stay in hospital. He was still unwell when he arrived and extremely weak so he needed a lot of care. The care he received was exceptional both from a medical and personal point of view. The care staff were consistently the same people which meant he and I got to know them and nothing was too much trouble for them when caring for him or answering all my questions. I didn’t get to see his apartment due to Covid restrictions but in his words, it was a home from home. He has now been able to return to his own home and Alexander Court played a big part in making him strong and healthy enough for this to happen. All the family are very grateful to them.
My brother was in Alexandra Court for what turned out to be his final days. During his short stay the extremely kind, caring, and attentive staff made his stay as comfortable as humanly possible. Their consideration of both his needs and the family to be with him was a great solace. I cannot thank the whole team from management, cooks to carers for their efforts.
Mum’s been a resident for the last 12 months and has been diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Although this is not a specialist care area for the home, the staff have been totally understanding of Mum’s situation, caring for her as best they can. Mum was reluctant to move from her bungalow but that decision was made for her by my brother and I. We had considered other Homes but Alexandra Court was way ahead of others. It is welcoming inside presenting itself as warm and friendly with thoughtful decoration throughout. When you visit any hospitality venue, the place is only as good as the staff who work in it. The staff are friendly to all family members and provide the care for Mum in a way we couldn’t. It took time for all of us to adapt but the staff listened to our concerns on how to deal with mum and what is needed for her care going forward and adapted superbly. They’ve kept Mum safe throughout the COVID period which will have been challenging and this has to be applauded.
Mum went into the care home over 2 years ago and everyone has looked after her so well in there. She’s very happy and enjoys the meals they cook for her. She now struggles to walk and her memory is very poor but they are very patient with her and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff there are really friendly when I go to visit her and I can’t praise them enough for their care. I would recommend it to anyone needing care and having their own apartments is great because mum feels like it’s her home and she has personal things we brought from her house to make it feel like it’s her own home.
It was a very hard decision to place mum in a care home, however, the manager and his brilliant caring team made my mum's life better for her, they are all professionals and extremely caring people. We are delighted with how mum is looked after.
My parents became residents over three years ago. The home includes couples accommodation so they can reside comfortably together.
Mum was more poorly than first thought and during her 6-7 months there, staff could not do enough, and the care and loving kindness she received was excellent and I could not have asked for more.
Dad has remained a resident and enjoys the attention he receives. He feels he’s at home as the apartments are homely and personal just as at home. The staff are attentive and have way gone beyond what might be considered to be normal care in assisting and getting him to or ready for family events such as weddings. This is carried through for residents celebrating birthdays and anniversaries with parties. Thank you.
I stayed at Alexandra Court for two weeks after leaving hospital. I did not need any care, I went there to have a good rest and to recover from my operation. I thought the residents were looked after extremely well and that they felt happy and safe to be there.
My mother lived at Alexandra Court for more than three years. She was understandably reluctant to move into a care home but the patient support from the staff eventually helped her to settle in and in the last year of her life she thanked us for finding her such a lovely place to live. I am certain that the care she received together with the company of other residents and the kindness shown by staff extended not only the length but also the quality of her life.
I have been very impressed with Alexandra Court from day one. I have watched and listened and I have been made welcome in the home from the start. The food is top-notch.
My father had the pleasure of living at Alexandra Court over the last 6 months. He passed away recently at the home and the care he received was second to none. Everything about the home is just superb and I would highly recommend to anyone. The staff are exceptional.
I found Alexandra Court staff very caring and helpful. The manager was kind and very understanding.
I found Alexandra Court very welcoming at a stressful time for my friend. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was Christmas week and we needed a safe place for my friend who couldn't be left alone due to her confused state. The manager is such a kind person and is very down to earth, he immediately put her at ease which was good for a 90 year old. I was invited to join my friend for lunch a couple of times and found the food was well cooked and well presented.
I think Alexandra Court must be one of the world’s nicest care homes. The manager and his team have achieved such a warm, welcoming atmosphere: they are always friendly, upbeat, cheerful and keen to help and very professional too. It doesn’t look like a care home - more like a comfy hotel. It’s clean, fresh and (whisper it!) it doesn’t smell like a care home either. My mum has been here for a month for respite care and everything has been taken care of with a friendly smile from hospital visits to laundry, nursing care and even a birthday party. Mum was able to celebrate her birthday with a tea party in the conservatory, including a fab homemade cake whisked up by the chef. Whenever I visit I’m struck by this kind of attention to detail and the fact that the culture of caring is shared by every single member of staff. There aren’t just one or two stand-out individuals here - the whole team work together to create this very special environment.
