Overall Experience

We have visited an elderly friend of ours a number of times now. She is in for short-term nursing care after breaking a bone in her foot. Although we have been impressed by the buildings, the accommodation etc., the outstanding element of the Alexandra Court is the staff. Every member of staff we have met, in a variety of capacities, have been mainly young, very enthusiastic, polite, helpful, cheerful and most of all they care about each individual resident.

My mum was poorly and required extra care and was very reluctant to leave her home. She was welcomed and settled in at Alexandra Court by the lovely caring staff and very quickly felt at home. Her apartment was lovely, very homely and spacious, but she really enjoyed the company and being included in the many activities in the lounge and conservatory etc. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay and I had peace of mind knowing she was happy and well cared for.

My nanna is a resident at Alexandra Court and is very well looked after by all the staff. I am very pleased with all the care my nanna receives.
The staff could not do enough for my nanna giving me peace of mind she is happy, safe and well loved by everyone.
The apartments are out of this world. You can make them your own as my nanna has done the home as they also said we can paint if we would like to add that extra homely feel. Brand new carpets have just been fitted throughout the apartment and a lovely new wet room.

The food is fantastic and the home allowed me to have lunch with my nanna on several occasions not expecting payment.

From the very first visit to Alexandra Court I was struck by the welcoming and homely feel. The flexibility at the time of moving in (and departure) was a great help and allowed Mum to acclimatise with familiar things around her. The care and patience exhibited by all the team was outstanding. Dementia can be confusing to all and they dealt with it very well. The daily entertainment and activities programme was excellent, engaging Mum more than I had seen in a long time. I cannot speak highly enough for the whole team and the individuals charged with Mum's personal care - 5 star service.

My mum was at Alexandra Court for approximately 1 year. I wish she had been there sooner as the care and loving kindness she received was excellent. I feel she would have benefited from the support and interaction had she stayed there earlier. The staff are excellent in their patience and kindness, I always left after my visiting her knowing she was safe and had all she needed. Her face lit up at the sight of any and all of the staff. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so very much.

My sister has been a resident for about 18 months. Her care has been wonderful. I never have to worry about her as all her carers are kind, helpful and professional at all times. It gives me great peace of mind to know that she is lucky enough to be in such a well managed and caring home.

I have lived here a number of years 6-7, I came here with the church to sing and I love the feel of the home and said I want to live here at Alexandra Court when I am not able to live at home. To this day I know I made the correct choice and never regret it. The food is amazing always a good choice, I enjoy every week. I have made my apartment home as I have brought my own furniture, this makes it home. The staff are all lovely and enjoy the daily activities when I join in. The care is outstanding, I love it here and it is home.

Our aunt has been at Alexandra Court for a few years now. We realised that she needed some help with day to day living so we were fortunate that we heard about Alexandra Court. She settled in really quickly with the help of the caring staff.
The caring has continued and we can only thank all the staff for all that they do for her. From our point of view, they are always very welcoming when we go to visit and we see that they obviously really care about the residents. They have a difficult job but they do it with compassion and laughter! An important component for everyone!
The place is always clean and tidy and well managed and our aunt seems very happy there.

Thank you all.

'Delighted' may not be a wholly appropriate term given all my beliefs as to how our very wealthy country should fully fund ALL required personal/social care. However, given the current care climate, delight is not too strong a summation of my feelings vis-à-vis my mum's care, treatment and support during her three years at Alexandra Court. The utterly dedicated staff are unquestionably Alexandra Court's strongest attribute in showing unfailing patience, endless flexibility and a level of care way beyond what anyone could have expected throughout mum's inexorably declining condition. Mum's final phase of life was characterised by the kindness, dignity and even love given to her.

Since my mother moved into Alexandra Court, she has received the best care and attention from all concerned. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble for them.

The rooms are kept spotlessly clean and the food is varied and well served.

All the staff go out of their way to ensure that residents and relatives needs are met.

I have family visiting me on a regular basis i.e., 3 times a week. The chef provides a regular menu but is happy to alter this. The food is excellent.
The carers are very good and check the rooms every 2 hours after midnight.

We all enjoy playing dominoes after we have rested after lunch.

Having made the difficult decision that my mother needed full-time care due to her advancing dementia, I spent a great deal of time looking for the home that would meet all her needs. I decided on Alexandra Court. Yes, the home is tastefully decorated, clean and the food served is excellent, however the main reasons why are that the home has a lovely, caring and welcoming atmosphere. 6 weeks on the team have proved my initial feelings, they are passionate about the care they provide and it is exemplary, the management are approachable and open and honest. I am happy to leave my mum knowing she is safe and well cared for.

I have been here for 3 1/2 years. The care is excellent. If I need anything I have only got to ask. When my bathroom was changed to a wet room I got to choose my own furniture on the internet.

I went to visit my grandma for the first time in many years with other family members. The home was very welcoming and had a lovely fresh smell to it. My grandma has been living at Alexandra Court for a few years now and she tells me how lovely it is and she is happy not being at home. She mentioned that it felt like home at times as she has her own apartment. The apartments are very nice and spacious. The staff were all lovely offering cups of tea/coffee, biscuits to us. It just felt so homely and lovely I would gladly say my grandma is being looked after well by all the staff. Keep up the good work.
