Mum has been in Clipstone Lodge just over a year. She settled really well due to the care and concern of the staff. Theres lots of activities to keep everyone occupied and the team go out there way to encourage and engage the residents. Mum enjoys feeling safe and cared for. The staff do an amazing
job in difficult circumstances.

The home and its staff were exemplary in their care of my mother in law who has moderate dementia.
She was not happy to have to be there for respite but they handled her with patience and diplomacy.

She loved the food and for the first time in a year actually gained a couple of pounds. Her room

was clean and spacious with plenty of storage. We supplied her with a TV in the room.

She loved that the staff all spoke when they saw her that they have a smoking area outside and she was able to have her hair done weekly.

We appreciated that she was safe and well cared for.

Before my mother came to Clipstone Hall & Lodge, I was given advice on procedures. Communications between myself and the admin staff were excellent. (My mother was being transferred from another home). The rooms are good sizes and furnished adequately. The food is of a high standard wtih a good variety
of menus daily. My mother has never been a people person, but the staff are encouraging and always engage with her. She now classes Clipstone as her home where as before she always wanted to live somewhere else. I had been recommended Clipstone from a friend who's husband resided there. Compared to other homes Clipstone is good value for money!

Dad came in for a weeks respite care to give my mum a break from caring for him at home.
From the first enquiry about his stay, during his stay, staff were extremely helpful, informative and friendly.
Dad received first class professional care. All meals freshly prepared with a good choice of menu.
The rooms, in fact everywhere is kept spotlessly clean.

The staff are very proficient and extremely caring. Whenever my father has an issue they are quick to notify me. My father's needs are very complex and he is unable to communicate effectively, however the carers have taken the time to work with him, to understand what he wants and how best to look after
him. I could not wish for my father to be cared for any more than he is. The staff (carers, cleaners, cooks, admin's) are wonderful and it is plain to see that they really do care about the residents. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment.

Above and beyond at all times! Exceptional food always offered, clothes kept well and all needs catered for. Brilliant activities
programme and Christmas was such a fun time with different things happening every day. I cannot thank them enough.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.751)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.751) out of 10 for Clipstone Hall & Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.751 for Clipstone Hall & Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (271 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 342 Ratings = 4.751
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clipstone Hall & Lodge is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
