My husband was in for 2-weeks respite and settled so well he wanted to stay an extra week. He seems much calmer than he was at home and is eating well. Staff are always friendly and only too willing to chat about any concerns you may have and to give regular updates. Would be more than happy if his
stay was to become permanent that he remain at Clipstone.

My friend has been a resident at Clipstone Hall for around a year, she was very nervous at first when she went into a residential care home. I have to say she truly enjoys living at Clipstone Hall, the staff have gone that extra mile to ensure she settled in and spent time reassuring her and encouraging
her to join in the fantastic activities the care home offers, even during the COVID-19 outbreak she has spent time with the activities staff in the garden, planting flowers and doing arts and crafts. I would recommend this care home to everyone, the staff are truly outstanding and I can’t thank them enough for all their hard work.

All carers are lovely and really helpful. They really make the resident settled and at home. The staff don’t make it feel like a care home they make it more like a holiday home and making every day different to entertain all residents and guests. Lovely people and a lovely place.

My Grandma has been at Clipstone Hall & Lodge for around 2 years now, the staff have always been very friendly and extremely kind, nothing is too much trouble. Over the past few months when the home has had restricted visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic the staff have been outstanding, we have received
regular contact from them updating us on how my Grandma has been. Thank you for keeping her safe and the amazing work you all do.

My friend of many years found her place at Clipstone Hall & Lodge earlier this year. The transformation in her has been remarkable. She has truly blossomed there. The staff have been welcoming and attended to her every need. The care shown to bring her out of herself has been outstanding. She has made
many friends among the staff and the residents. She particularly enjoys the activities and has both participated and assisted in their development. She is truly at home there.

Clipstone Hall & Lodge has a fantastic staff team and a lovely atmosphere, the activity staff member is amazing and always encourages my mum to join in with activities. The food is very nice and there is plenty of choices. My mum has been a resident at the home for a number of months and she is so happy
there. I am glad we decided on Clipstone Hall & Lodge, it's a comfort knowing my mum is safe and extremely well looked after.

I cannot thank the care home and all the staff enough, from the domestics to the management team, for the care and support given to my friend during the last few months especially during COVID-19. It has been hard not to come in and visit but knowing she is safe and is been well looked after by the
staff has been a great help and one less thing for us to worry about. The communication is good they ring with updates regularly to let us know how she is.

My grandmother has always been happy here. They have lots of activities both internally and externally of the home which able residents are encouraged to take part in. I know favourites of my grandmothers are the local farm park bringing lambs, etc. and also some local nursery children who come and
visit! During the months of lockdown, I was kept up to date as to what was happening and the doctor who takes care of this area called me for an in-depth chat which I found very helpful and comforting. The food served is very good. Rooms are nice and the staff are friendly and very helpful.

Moving one’s parent to a care home is a very difficult decision to make. My family tried to look after Mum in her own home, with home support, for as long as we possibly could, but even with the best of intentions, we felt we really weren’t taking care of all her needs at all. As a consequence, her
physical and mental state simply deteriorated. So, we made the decision to move her into Clipstone Hall & Lodge, an impressive establishment already partly familiar to us via previous relatives.
Now under the ownership of Burlington Care Homes, the home continues to provide an impressive number of supporting features for the elderly. The carers themselves really live up to their name, whilst home managers keep me constantly informed about Mum’s welfare. Menus are excellent, hygiene standards are very high indeed, and there are a range of activities for residents to get involved with. Highly recommended.

The carers and staff at Clipstone Lodge are both professional and caring. Nothing is too much trouble as they try to make a welcoming environment for the residents. They even set my aunt's hair after a shower. The food is good and the rooms well furnished. A big thank you to everyone who has gone above

Great staff, truly care for residents in their care.
My mother enjoys her time and is so happy being in a caring atmosphere. She really loves the attention and companionship from not only staff but other residents. Her quality of life in the later years has been enhanced by being in residential care
and Clipstone Hall and Lodge ticks a lot of boxes. During COVID-19 I haven’t been able to see my mother but I rest assured that she’s safe in the hands of competent, friendly caring staff.

Her dementia is worsening and if she has to go in full-time care I would be happy for her to go here.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.758)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.758) out of 10 for Clipstone Hall & Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.758 for Clipstone Hall & Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (273 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 343 Ratings = 4.758
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clipstone Hall & Lodge is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
