Cavendish Court is a very high standard care home in terms of both facilities and staff. A home from home as close as it could be. From our first introduction we could see this immediately. My wife was extremely well cared for to the end. Our expectations for her welfare and care were constantly exceeded.
Those who were specifically responsible for providing her personal care and comfort were outstandingly professional and full of empathy. In fact not just to my terminally ill wife but to all of us whenever we made a visit. Gentle, compassionate, sensitive and most competent. Aspects that are high on the list for commendation are: accessibility, communication, cleanliness and the food. I don't think there was any more that could have been done to make my wife any more comfortable to the end. All of you have been absolutely marvellous and totally dedicated. Thank you so very much Cavendish Court.

In particular, special mention should be made of two particular carers whose caring, gentleness and compassion is commendable.

Summer solstice party 20 June.
I attended an event that the staff had work extremely hard to put on. The courtyard was cleaned up and looked lovely as the residents made their way outside for afternoon tea and cake.
It was the first time Mum had been outside for over a year. I'm sure she felt good
to have the sun on her face (limited there was shade) and fresh air. Thank you!!! Staff worked hard at this - with deviance - I think!

Family has always been a cornerstone for my mother in law and for us, here we've been able to preserve that bond we now gather at her new home-Cavendish Court here we have found the staff to be dedicated and compassionate treating the patients with respect and seeing them as individuals, allowing them

I've been nothing but impressed with the level of care my grandma has received since being in Cavendish Court. The staff are attentive, patient, and genuinely kind & it's clear they treat residents like family. Every time I visit, she's smiling, well looked after. It's such a relief knowing she's in

I feel happy and safe here and can't speak highly enough of the staff who look after me. We share a laugh and a joke. The staff make a difference to my day, I think they have been instrumental in helping me to adjust to life changing disabilities. I am treated with respect and consideration at all times
and with respect and consideration at all times and with compassion. When I have had difficult times adjusting the staff have been very supportive.

My initial impression was that it would be a good place for my wife to recuperate after a hip replacement. My wife is unable to communicate and is immobile and I immediately discovered problems with the care they provided with regard to toilet needs, moving her, and preparation for bed. The management
took these problems on board and now things are considerably better. The care assistants and nurses who have regular contact with my wife are very good and as expected some are better than others. Some shifts all seem very calm yet on others they appear to be rushing around in circles. As I attend mealtimes the various times lunch or tea is served doesn't help with organisation. Lunch has been served anytime between 12 and 1 and tea at 4:15 and 5. I think this problem may have been resolved as the last few days have been much better.
Once my initial concerns were resolved the care provided was better and although my wife's mobility has not improved which is a lack of support from the NHS her continence needs could be better supported.
All the staff from the cleaners, laundry, care assistants, nurses, secretary, and manager are all very friendly and approachable.

This care home accepted my Mother in the midst of COVID. But made her transition into a new home very easy. The staff are amazing and always do all they can to protect your loved one. The home is clean, warm and welcoming. Staff on all levels are always happy to stay for a chat. Mum recently passed
and once again all the staff members were amazing. If truth be told no one wants to see loved ones in this environment, however, my Mum was well looked after which gave family members peace of mind.

My husband stayed for a week recently for some respite care as he suffers from Alzheimer’s. The care he got was fantastic the staff were nice and helpful and went the extra mile. Would recommend and would definitely let him go again.

After a long period in hospital, my mum has settled in Cavendish Court very well. The staff have been instrumental in making the transfer from home via hospital to the home as seamless as possible. Leanne is pleased to be Cavendish Court's Home Manager and has been in the role since February 2024. She leads a great team at the home who are passionate and enthusiastic about delivering high quality care and are aspiring for excellence.


Leanne has worked in health and social care since 2014. She is a learning disability nurse by background and graduated in 2017 from the University of Chester. Always cheerful and positive, Leanne is dedicated to supporting and helping people and this shines through in everything she does.
