The care home staff were friendly and the environment was clean and welcoming.
The staff were kind enough to allow my aunt to host a small family gathering in a quiet room, where an afternoon tea was provided for us. They were attentive towards my aunts needs, but in a subtle manner. They organised
for her to be chaperoned to a church 20minutes away and supported my aunt both physically and emotionally throughout the outing.
Our experience of Bowers Court was positive and I feel my aunt is receiving quality care.

When admitted with 3 days life expectancy reception very good. Since 7 months ago from admittance standards have gone through the floor.
Despite repeated requests general care is poor all the time as staff and management have to be badgered to do their basic duties ie showered shaving and nail cutting
etc. Relatives police care which is disgusting.

My father moved into Bowerfield Court in June 2025 and from the first day he has been treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. This has been so reassuring to us as a family in a very emotional and difficult time. We know he is safe and well cared for and this makes such a difference to us. Thank
you for your support!

My sister was booked in for 2 weeks respite as I am her carer and fractured my foot. On first impression the carpet was filthy with marks all over it. My sister was put to bed at 5pm one evening and told there were no staff to do it later. I visited her at 11am the following day to find her in bed wet
through with urine. We had to sort her out, wash & dress her and strip the bed and wash it down. Another day a member of staff when washing her said 'open your legs so I can wash your .....'. We made the decision to remove her after one week. No one questioned it.

Care staff are responsive to my sister's needs and approach her appropriately.
Garden improvements are a massive improvement! Engaging my sister as able, as she always enjoyed gardening.
Care manager and deputy care manager are always available for a catch up, to raise any questions/concerns with,
or accolades... Feel the care home has good leadership now. Care staff seem to have direction and appear happy.

My sister is currently a long-term resident here, she came in from December 2021. The care has always been amazing but since the new management came this year it has continued to improve and get better and better. My sister is only young and I feel so happy that she is here, the care she receives is
wonderful, the food is outstanding and the staff go above and beyond to make us welcome too. The entertainment that is put on on a weekly basis for the residents (and family too if they want to join in) is brilliant. They have pamper sessions, BBQs, games, quizzes and people coming in from outside to do various sessions. It feels like one big family my son is 6 years old and has autism and he is so close to my sister (his aunty) and it has been a lot for us as a family to go through seeing her become ill and come to live in a nursing home and the staff have been so kind and caring with him. This care home is one of the best I have ever seen and I would highly recommend it to anybody.

My brother has been a resident since 2016. He has always been well cared for and in April, when my daughter was getting married, the staff were so supportive in helping to get him to the church and caring for him throughout the service. This allowed him to be present for his only niece's wedding, which
meant so much to us all. All the staff knew he was going leading up to the event and continually reminded and engaged with him about it. They even arranged a 'wedding breakfast' for all the residents to enjoy afterwards, along with some interesting advice from the residents for the happy couple! All the staff are caring and really help to make Bowerfield Court feel like a real home for my brother. Special mention for the three staff members who went the extra mile to make the day so special for us all.

Bowerfield Court Care Home is a fabulous place. My Husband has been a resident since 2020. As a family we were very anxious as to how he would settle and whether he would be happy living there. We need not have worried. The Staff are absolutely amazing and can't do enough for him. They are very caring
and will always go the extra mile to help.
The new management are amazing and have listened to the views of the residents and their families. Recently I attended a resident and family meeting where ideas were discussed between everyone. These were taken on board and have now been implemented which is amazing for everyone.
We have peace of mind knowing he is happy at Bowerfield and being beautifully cared for.

To sum up, I know my wife is happy
in Bowerfield Court. Well done to all the staff and keep up the good work!

Staff are very caring and considerate of my brother's needs. They take time to get to know and understand him. He is physically quite independent, but his condition means he gets lonely and very depressed. They understand this and make time to talk to him and look after his mental state on a daily basis.
They are very supportive and also keep me updated when necessary on how he is. I am very happy that he is living here.

I am a resident here and I just want to say that all the staff here are amazing and they all go above and beyond. The new manager and activities coordinator has turned this place around. There are activities to do every day and the home includes everybody and family members to join in! They keep residents
and family members up to date with everything and upcoming events. The food they offer is fantastic and again they will go above and beyond to cater to our needs. The domestic staff keep the home extremely clean and tidy too. The care I receive is amazing and I cannot thank them enough!

My mum is a resident at Bowerfield Court and I want to say how amazing all the staff are with her. They treat her like she’s part of their family.
The manager has turned the place around from previous and worked with her lovely team to make it such a lovely atmosphere. The entertainment is fantastic,
always something fun going on for Mum to attend (me too). The food is always delicious for Mum who has a great appetite. Always a nurse on hand for any issue I may have. Thank you for the care you show my mum.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.732)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.732) out of 10 for Bowerfield Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 3.932 for Bowerfield Court is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (10 Poors x 2) + (13 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 118 Ratings = 3.932
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bowerfield Court is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
