We continue to be delighted with the ongoing care for our mother who has been a resident with Cookridge Court for 2 years now. The home recognise her individual needs and tailor their support towards her very well. Communication with us is very good and the regular updates are always appreciated. Staff were recently really accommodating for our mum's special birthday!
Thank you for your review. We value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Thank you also for your positive comments regarding our home and team, who work hard to deliver high standards of quality care at all times. I will pass on your feedback to the team.
We can not thank all the staff at cookridge court care home enough. From the admin team, finance team, support staff and all in-between for the great support/care provided to my grandfather during his respite. They not only cared for my grandad but they supported me and my mum and helped us feel at ease leaving him for the first time. We would definitely recommend them and will certainly be using their service in the future. They are all simply amazing.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. We absolutely loved caring for your grandfather and we are looking forward to him returning.
I visited my mum's best friend. I met her in the main entrance where we sat and chatted for an hour. My mum's friend was waiting for me in the warm entrance, we were greeted by friendly staff and offered and given drinks (including soya milk) and cake. The hall was light with huge windows looking on a busy court yard so lots to see. At one point my mum's friend said, she'd like to go out with us and staff said she'd need staff with her for safety. She also said the food was generally good and she liked her room. Staff seemed lovely and supportive. The gorgeous trees at the front were beautiful. Car parking was plentiful. The hall was clean and nicely decorated. Toilets were clean and spacious.

Visiting an old friend who's a new resident. I telephoned the day before and the staff checked and she was was available in afternoon of the next day. When I arrived, she was in the welcoming hall waiting for us, staff came out and made us all cups of tea and a delicious chocolate and cherry cake. We had a lovely time, staff were always present but never intrusive. Top service.

I cannot praise the care and staff enough for looking after my husband, I was encouraged to go and see him at all times and made to feel welcome, the staff always asked me if I was ok and gave me a cup of tea, they were all polite and respectful, they kept me in touch at all times about his health and care. I will have no doubts in recommending the way my lovely husband was cared for at Barchester Cookridge Court Care Home. God bless them all and I will miss your friendship.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It was our absolute pleasure to care for your husband. He was such a lovely gentleman, we will miss him.
The building itself is beautifully designed and furnished so that it is comfortable and not intimidating yet of the highest standard.

My recently bereaved friend has an Alzheimer's diagnosis and is no longer able to care for herself. In researching and visiting several local care homes, Cookridge Court was the one putting up the most friendly welcome, homely environment and a genuine and passionate sense of care for their residents. The helpfulness of staff in finding and through the process of securing long-term (permanent) residential care was amazing - nothing was too much trouble. My friend has quickly settled in to her new environment, is making new friends and enjoys the varied organised activities and the support of all of the staff.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review, we really do appreciate it. We will work very hard to ensure your friend continues to love life at Cookridge Court.
You looked after my mum for over two years. They were very difficult times for all of us, as a family, at the outset. Thankfully we were helped immensely by all the staff at Barchester Cookridge Court Care Home. It did not take too long for Mum to settle in and love her new 'home'. She made great friends with other residents and staff. The many and varied activities were a great asset and helped Mum settle in. Thank you for becoming friends as well as carers.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. We loved caring for your mum. We really miss her and you too.
My father spent the last year of his life at Cookridge Court. He was happy and the staff were wonderful. He joined in all the activities (I think, he could be strong-willed). Overall, I made the right decision to let him stay at Cookridge Court.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. We really enjoyed caring for your father and we still miss him.
The staff are so caring and look after the residents so well.
The home is welcoming, modern throughout and exceptionally clean (like a five-star hotel).
Always plenty of activities and always plenty of food at mealtimes.
Well recommended.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. We absolutely loved looking after your Mum; it was a privilege.
Dad is happy to come here, happy for visitors to come and go and happy to return home too.
This residential care home is fantastic - A1!

She tells me 'always something going on' and has company!
On each occasion, I am amazed at the ratio of staff and kindness of all your lovely staff.
Yesterday she didn’t expect me and I went onto the top floor where 2 staff members were with a lovely lady, they were very caring key helping her drink with a straw and I saw the tenderness showed by the lady herself, wrapping her hands around the nurse concerned as a way of thanks.
After taking my cousin for coffee in the entrance, which she loved! We returned to her floor and again I saw the same nurse gently encouraging the lady to drink some water, again with the same kindness.
It is so reassuring that my cousin has the wonderful care which she truly deserves in this later stage in her life. Knowing she is treated with dignity, and care which is so very genuine. Thank you!

We have been very pleased with all the care and assistance and love show by all the staff. My husband had a very happy respite at Barchester Cookridge Court Care Home. All the facilities, drink, food and rooms are excellent. Thank you.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. It was an absolute pleasure looking after your husband. We can't wait for him to return.
I visit my nana weekly and it is a pleasure visiting this care home. The staff are so friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about the residents. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and enjoy your visit, so much so that even my two children love visiting. I feel relieved that my nana is in such a lovely place and I'm reassured she is getting the best care. The care home is always immaculate and doesn't feel like an 'old people's home' which makes it so much nicer to visit.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. I am so happy that your nana is happy at Cookridge Court and that you and your family enjoy visiting her.
Well organised, had good staff, good food, and an excellent afternoon. Many thanks. The overall experience of care home in general is excellent.

We are very pleased with how Mum has settled in since January this year which is very much down to the excellent care she has received from you. Better now that she is receiving full-time care and she is eating and sleeping well. The communal areas are beautifully furnished. The bedrooms could do with a little refurbishment.

On my visit, I was made to feel very welcome and relaxed by the friendly atmosphere, both the staff and the residents all seemed to be happy and content. It was very satisfying to see my mother-in-law so content and enjoying her new surroundings and company. Thank you very much Cookridge Court for the care and professionalism you show, long may it continue.

I made the very difficult decision of putting to put my mum into a care home. I now realise it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My mum has settled very well, she is more energised and motivated than I have seen in the past few years. This is due to the care, professional and dedicated staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, whether it's just chatting, entertaining them or encouraging the residents to get involved with the activities. Cookridge Court is the care home I would highly recommend.

Meet the Team (10)

Hello! My name is Sandra Roche, and I'm the general manager here at Cookridge Court.
I am a social worker by profession and passionate about upholding the rights of older people. I have 30 years of experience in social care across a wide variety of settings. I first became a registered manager in 2001 and led a demolition and rebuild project for a not-for-profit provider whilst achieving the top rating of Excellent at that time. I returned to statutory social work leadership in 2010 and progressed up the ranks to Acting Assistant Director of Adult Social Care, responsible for all adults in the borough and a budget of over £40 million. After nearly 2 years in that role, I realised I was losing contact with older people and their families, the reason why I came into social care in the first place and made the decision to return to the front line.
I joined Barchester in 2021 as commissioning manager of Peony Court, a new build home in Croydon, South London, where we achieved a CQC good rating and three Top 20 Care Homes in London awards. In 2026, I made the decision to transfer to Leeds to be nearer to my parents, who live in Barwick in Elmet. Our ambition here at Cookridge Court is to be Outstanding, and we do this by placing our residents' wants and needs at the heart of everything we do. We care for our families as much as our residents and value them as partners in care. Whether you are looking for respite care or a more permanent home from home for your loved one, you are assured of the warmest of welcomes, a luxury environment and bespoke, personalised, loving care from the highly motivated and friendly team at Cookridge Court.

In 2021 I decided to change my career within Cookridge Court and took on my current position as Home Administrator and formerly Home Receptionist.
