My step-mother was a resident at Carleton Court for around 3 months before she passed away at Christmas 2016. She was 96 and following several falls realised she could no longer stay in her own home. Carleton Court provided a safe and caring environment, the nearest we could hope for as a home from home. From the very start when the manager came to meet her (and discussed gin supplies for when she moved in) everyone we have met during visits and spoken with over the 'phone has been extremely helpful and caring. Over the years l have visited several care facilities but this is by far the best I've seen and would recommend it to anyone who is looking in this area.
Our mother was admitted to Carleton Court in November 2016. She has settled very quickly due to the kindness and excellent care and attendance she has received from all the staff. The room she has been allocated is excellently furnished and very comfortable. She is visited every two hours through the night and records kept. Every member of the staff both care and administrative, treat her with a smile, respect and kindness. The food is excellent, the staff will provide the residents with drinks and 'snacks' even during the night if requested. The prompt reaction of the staff was invaluable in acting quickly when she became ill for which we will always be grateful. We cannot say how grateful we are to all the staff for their excellent care.
I have never visited this home and smelt urine. Unfortunately, this was this the first smell that greeted you in all the other homes I visited. My only gripe was the laundry and clothes going missing. I still visit a friend my mum and I made during her stay.
Continual efforts are made to improve the quality of laundry service received. Our Quality Assurance audit in this area is monitored constantly. Thank you for your comments.
My parents are very happy with the care and service received at Carleton Court. There have been some significant improvements over the summer i.e. lots of little things, attention to detail has improved and the general professionalism has led to a feeling of progress in many areas. Staff are attentive and professional, yet the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Parents are happy, safe and content and I can relax knowing they are looked after very well. Thanks Carleton Court, you are doing a great job.
Excellent welcome and care seems to be a very high standard.
Although he has his 'off' days, the staff have treated him very well and have been patient with him which I have found difficult at homes. The care he receives has been a welcome relief and allowed me to spend the time to chat to him.
I am very pleased with the level of care and support my mum receives at the home. My mum is very happy and her condition has improved since she has been in the home. The staff, overall, are friendly and kind and mum has struck up a good relationship with many of them. Mum's rooms is comfortable and clean and the home has gone out of its way to accommodate her requirements. The food is attractive and appealing, the home have tried to personalise the menu to cater for mum's needs.
The care given at Carleton Court found by my husband and myself to both our mothers who are residents here is very professional and efficient, whilst not losing a family orientated and friendly homely feeling by all the staff and proprietors.
Carleton Court has been in the home for my mum for the last 5 years. I'm sure without their care mum wouldn't be here. She is often ill (she's 92) and between myself and Carleton Court staff we manage to pull her through! Management and staff are always there to go through problems that arise and will do their best to sort them out. It's like a family care home and I wouldn't choose any other.
nice place, nice people and a happy elderly mother.
Management always approachable and staff are well trained and caring. There are well-prepared meals, snacks, and drinks. Always clean and well maintained communal areas. Social events are planned for residents.
My mother has been at Carleton Court care home now for a number of years and the quality and overall care is exemplary. Mum sees it as her home. Residents are treated with dignity and a freedom to choose as far as is possible in a care home environment. The Owners are very caring people who are in this because they want to make a difference - not for profit.
The residents seemed happy and content. She was clean and tidy and appropriately dressed. She has recently been attended to by the hairdresser. Transfer to the wheelchair was undertaken safely with attention to the preservation of her dignity and following her wishes. Drinks were offered to her but there was no comment on how little she actually drank. She expressed praise of the staff, in particular, the night staff. She seems content with her stay in the home. There is sometimes a problem obtaining a wheelchair taxi for transport.
Without fail we found staff to be genuinely caring and unerringly professional. This professionalism was not simply the case that staff fully met head-on the practical (often challenging) needs of those in their care - important though this is/was, but in our opinion equally important was their unfailing warmth, patience and good humour.
They had unswerving and genuine regard and respect for all residents. These qualities were never more tested than in my mother-in-law's last weeks/days/hours when her deteriorating condition made constant demands upon staffs time and emotions. To the very end, my mother-in-law was loved and she knew it!
My husband was resident at Carleton Court from 2012 until his death 13/3/16 also respite before 2012. I have nothing but praise for the well run care home. I couldn't have wished for better care and support for my husband using the time he spent there. Before he became quite ill- previously he had enjoyed the social aspect and his meals. When kitchen staff got to know he didn't like certain foods they cooked him an alternative. During the last 6 months when he became very ill, all the carers dealt with him with dignity and gave him every care. Kitchen staff cooked and tried to tempt him to eat when he refused to eat. The staff didn't intrude on our private times together but still checked and chatted to him at least every 2 hrs. His death (I was there) was quiet, dignified and peaceful. All this our family think was, being cared for at Carleton Court and we all benefited- knowing they cared for my husband so well, and respected and liked him as a person, sincerely.
My mother has lived at Carlton Court for nearly two years, I am very happy with the care she receives from the friendly and caring staff. The home is always spotless with no bad odours. My mother has a lovely room which looks out onto the very pretty garden. The food is very good and nutritious and I am always made to feel very welcome by the staff when I visit her.
My mum has resided at Carleton Court for almost six years. She first attended for two weeks respite care whilst I was on holiday, after which time we mutually agreed that this was the way forward relating to her circumstances which included early stages of dementia. We have found Carleton Court staff so caring and friendly. The atmosphere is a real friendly one and my mum is very happy and content. Everything is carried out to a high standard and relatives are informed of any GP visits etc relating to their family, which is peace of mind for everyone. Residents and family alike. My family have been 100% satisfied with the management and care shown to her and other residents.
Carleton Court has looked after my mother-in-law for 8 years, with loving and very professional care. Unfortunately she died in May aged 93. But luckily I managed to get my 86 year old mother in Carleton Court in April 2015. She receives great care and treatment from all staff and I feel she is very well looked after and would not hesitate to recommend Carleton Court to all.
Since my mother became a resident at Carleton Court she has become a different person. Despite the advance in her dementia, she is happy, laughs and jokes in a way she never did before. My mother now has no worries and has a routine and companion - which she evidently enjoys very much. The staff have a very personal relationship with her and recently asked me to buy some smaller cardigans because mummy was looking shabby. How lovely to have people taking care of her who notice such things. She always looks lovely, since she came to live at Carleton Court.
