Vicarage Court Care Home is a multi award winning nursing home, located in the scenic surroundings of the Yorkshire countryside, near Pontefract Racecourse. A qualified nursing team provide personalised care including for specialist conditions such as residential dementia, general nursing, elderly residential and young persons physical disability. They can cater for specialist care packages to suit complex resident needs.

Established for 30 years, it has new state of the art facilities with the team boasting many years of experience in management of long-term care needs. There are 10 lounges, a courtyard, balcony areas and two acres of gardens for residents to enjoy.

In 2021, HealthWatch awarded the home the "Putting People First" award. This was for the team's response to COVID crisis and not losing any residents to COVID. In 2020, they won at the British Care Awards. Previous to that they own "Employer of the Year" (2014) from Wakefield College.

Day care and respite care are available. A versatile range of bedrooms can suit individuals with differing needs, while there is a choice of comfortable living areas and a sun lounge. Large luxury apartments for couples or individual residents are available.

Vicarage Court welcomed my mum in September 2022. The home was bright sunny clean comfortable and safe. Every member of staff would smile and say hello when I visited and mum settled down quickly. The nursing staff understood my mums needs and always kept me informed. Mum was bed-bound but had a constant
stream of staff calling into her room. Laundry, tea lady, personal care, cleaners and nurses all treated mum as though her room was her home. Mum felt safe, this left me comforted when I drove away that she was exceptionally well cared for. Thank you.

The manager of Vicarage Court runs a very tight ship but with great compassion. My husband was in Vicarage Court care due to lack of care in the another facility, my husband was unable to leave his room for the whole of his 2 1/2 year stay and the staff were lovely trying to involve him and myself in
things happening in the home- when he passed away in February staff were caring and supportive to myself and our family.

Vicarage Court is not just a care home. All the staff treat the residents as if they are their family. I cannot express enough how they are all so friendly. They all have hearts of gold.
In fact, I'm booking a room for when/if I need one.

My mother was a resident at the Vicarage Court for 15 months and everything about her care was exceptional. The staff all made sure that her time there was as good as it possibly could be. It was her home. Everyone went above and beyond with her and they were like family to her. Cannot praise everyone

Our mum spent four wonderful years here before her passing. Her care was second to none. Wonderful staff and admin. Always very happy to help if we had problems. Plenty of entertainment daily. Rooms always very clean and tidy. Big gardens to sit out in. Simply the best.

Mum came in 3 weeks ago on respite and I am very happy with every aspect of Vicarage Court. I hope Mum will be happy and eventually be a resident. She does love all the staff and food etc. but is still settling in.

I have always found staff to be professional, caring and personable. They have assisted my mother to settle and take time out, even just a couple of minutes to 'see how she is' or talk to her. The daily activities are one of the things I think have helped my mum. I have been able to be reassured that
Mum is looked after so I can be a daughter again and be supportive of her. They are very caring, also very supportive of me. The staff who enable and organise the leisure activities do a good job and allow me to take part also.

My husband has just returned home after his second respite stay at Vicarage Court. He has loved every minute of his stay again. When we arrived with him, all the love and care were so evident from all the staff who remembered him. The way he was greeted was amazing. I had no worries about leaving him
in their care. Every member of staff, from management to cleaners was fantastic with him. He loves getting involved with the activities and what he made has pride of place at home now. He can't wait for his next holiday. Thank you, everyone, for my little break.

I have visited the home four times, no matter which staff I encountered during these trips they were all very accommodating and helpful. My grandma had been sceptical of the idea of living in a care home, but certainly enjoyed her time, and was well taken care of.

I found the care home staff to be friendly, warm and caring. They treated my mother-in-law with dignity and respect right up to the end. The manager gave great support to myself and the rest of the family and was always approachable when needed. The care staff were always on hand to answer any questions

When I visited my nanna the staff at the care home were always professional. My nanna was always clean and I was happy with the care she received. The care received by my relative is exceptional. The staff always take time with her and are always available to discuss my relative's health. There is a doctor available for her to see if she has any issues and she is listened to by all staff and feels welcome and as comfortable as possible.
