All the staff, carers, nurses, cleaners, activities coordinator, the handyman and the administration have delivered outstanding care to my husband. He has said he has been well cared for 24 hrs at times. We cannot thank them enough for the care and consideration they have given to my husband, in the
time he has been a resident.

My husband is being looked after very well both physically and mentally. The staff are proactive and caring. I am very happy that as I cannot physically care for him, he gets the best possible care.

My husband has been a resident at Vicarage Court for the past six months. In that time, everyone who works there, from nurses and care assistants to admin staff and cleaners has built a relationship with my husband and all the family. Everyone genuinely cares for him, learning his ways and likes to
give him a positive time in their care. Thank you.

When my mum had to go in a home, I was worried sick about all the bad reviews and negative comments about them but Vicarage Court have been absolutely brilliant. From all the staff and the food, it's been first class. My mum only needed to be in a few weeks but if it comes to her needing full-time care
then this is the place that I would want her to go.

The standard of care shown in this care home has been extremely good, so far. My brother, who has learning difficulties, has settled well into the new environment, as staff are welcoming, caring and professional in all areas. His safety has been paramount and the management and staff have been very
supportive. Drinks have been shown to be plentiful and his pureed meals have been well presented. He engages in the activities, which are varied, within his capabilities and he does not feel left out. A home well worth recommending.

My father (aged 94) was a resident for 4 years and throughout he has been treated with care, dignity, affection and made to feel part of the Vicarage Court Care Home family.
He was always keen to join in with the many varied activities. With a hearty appetite loved the home-cooked nutritious food.
Every member of staff was kindness itself and I cannot recommend Victoria Court enough.

My brother-in-law has been in residence at Vicarage Court for several weeks and has been welcomed by a warm and caring staff. His dignity and his safety have both been a priority. He has settled in well and made many friends amongst what seems an endless flow of staff and familiar faces. Management
staff and the trained nurses have always been supportive and readily available to speak to. It is good to see my brother-in-law involved in the many varied activities, even planting bulbs.

Having had two family members in this care home in the past we have been very disappointed with the lack of care provided to our mother. She was in the home for a total of four weeks respite which was to be made permanent but was asked to leave with two days' notice. Following visits by social services,
mental health, and a doctor we were advised to move her to a safer place with nursing provided, such was the deterioration over the period of her stay. Pain management was too slow and poor. No help to feed, started incontinence which was not managed and developed thrush in her mouth and not diagnosed!
Reply from Jag Singh, Director at Vicarage Court Care HomeI am deeply sorry you feel this way and you have had a negative experience. Our aim over the fifteen years of operating the Vicarage is to provide the best possible care to those we support and it is something we take very seriously. This is why we have the ethos of only running one home and running well.
Our understanding was that you were happy with the care, but were not happy that we were unable to continue the care of your relative for longer than a two week respite. We made clear to the social worker that we were full and could only do a respite for two weeks. To help you we extended this by another two weeks, but could not do any more than four weeks due to previously booked residents.
We try hard to ensure that nobody receives a negative experience at the Vicarage and have had excellent feedback from all families. Can we request that you contact us at info@thevicaragecourt.com and we can see how we can resolve this matter.

Our experience of Vicarage Court was one of the greatest examples of how to care for vulnerable people I have ever experienced - it restored my faith in human kindness and humbled us all. Even though our experience was short, every single member of staff we met went well beyond what was required of
their role and displayed real concern for our welfare and my Mother’s. I know you have all helped our family with exceptional professionalism and real compassion in our hour of need and I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Mum was unhappy living alone. There was loneliness and increasing physical frailty. Her mental state was deteriorating. Moving to Vicarage Court has turned this around. She is much more confident, more communicative and benefiting from 24 hour care. Previous denial about the need to move into care has
become wholehearted acceptance. The staff are wonderful! Due to Covid restrictions some aspects of the home, e.g rooms, cannot be reviewed.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.818)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.818) out of 10 for Vicarage Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.818 for Vicarage Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 269 Ratings = 4.818
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Vicarage Court Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
