Moving a client from one care home to another is a very difficult decision to make as you literally have their wellbeing in your hands. Walton Manor and all the lovely caring staff took away the worry. Walton Manor is a caring and compassionate care home set in beautiful grounds. The private rooms are
very well presented and the whole feel of the care home makes you feel welcome with all the staff extremely friendly, helpful and caring with all the residents and visitors alike. There is a very good activity programme. Residents have access to the lovely grounds and it is always an enjoyable experience when visiting. Can I congratulate the manager and her wonderful staff for providing such good care in the lovely surroundings of Walton Manor.

The secret of success is remembering and respecting the fact that the people who work for us are our most valuable asset, this is certainly the case at Walton Manor and is reflected in the exceptional standards of care and services provided by the various staffing groups to both residents and visitors
to this home. My two weeks stay at Walton Manor in March 2021 was for respite care while my family moved our home from North Lincolnshire back to Wakefield. I wanted to be involved in the move from our home, which I was reluctant to leave. However, due to my physical limitations, staying in this house was not an option. The staff at Walton Manor empathised with the issues that I faced and helped me to adapt in a positive way to my new situation. This experience was not limited to my interactions with the carers but also the contact I had with other staff groups that make up the overall team. As my stay came to an end, part of me was sad to leave Walton Manor as the staff are now my friends.

The home is situated within a desirable residential area on the outskirts of Wakefield. It has all sensations of a gracious building, it sits in extensive well maintained lovely grounds. The Manor has been extensively extended and adapted to provide excellent accommodation for its residents, it includes
excellent private rooms with en-suite and also has some large apartments with kitchenette and living room. The staff are excellent at getting on and providing every need of ours, they do so with dignity and assurance together and with laughter which is an essential requirement. The management team do a remarkable job looking after us and collecting the information required every day to provide us with the very best care. They work very hard and offer gracious involvement. All staff are professional, highly committed and hard-working promoting and understanding the needs of all us residents. I have a happy, relaxed and confidential life here.

Walton Manor is truly a very special place with a fantastic and thoroughly well-deserved reputation within the locality.
Where the staff are concerned, nothing is ever too much trouble either for the residents of the resident's relatives.
The building offers a level of yesteryear elegance yet with
a homely atmosphere in which comfort and care are combined with dignity and the opportunity for gracious living.
I consider myself really blessed to have been able to find a place for my mother in this home where she was looked after in comfort and with the utmost care. Staff often and regularly went the extra mile to cater to her whims and idiosyncrasies... and did their very best at all times to facilitate both her needs and wants. They showed patience and kindness even on those occasions when it would have been much easier to do otherwise.
I cannot speak too highly of this care home and can recommend it without reservation to anyone considering such a place for either their own needs or the needs of a relative.

On arrival on the 9th August 2017 after lunch had taken place, I was given lunch and shown to my room. I found generally the atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. The staff are helpful and friendly. The meals with a good choice of menu. All the rooms are cleaned on a regular basis. There are
no regulations and residents are able to do as they please. Entertainment is provided. My stay of over 2 years was pleasant and enjoyable and can recommend Walton Manor as a happy place to stay.

Walton Manor really is a home from home, the surroundings are beautiful. The interior is very inviting, and the staff are very welcoming and caring. In the 15 months, I have been visiting Mother I have nothing but admiration for the wonderful staff. In my mothers final weeks, they kept me updated on
all her medical and hospital needs, and very supportive in her final hours of life.

My Mum and I carefully chose this care home for my Dad after visiting a number locally but this came out tops. He had a large lovely room overlooking the gardens which were very well maintained. I was very impressed with the quality of care he received throughout his tenure there. They were always friendly
and attended to his needs promptly whenever this was required. The residents also were an important factor and my Dad very much enjoyed sitting in the conservatory in his special wheelchair listening to the various conversations and banter amongst them. I have to also mention the quality of the food at Walton Manor. Excellent! My Dad always enjoyed his Sunday roast and home made sponge and custard!
Sadly my Dad passed away at hospital in February after a short illness but I think he would have wanted me to write this review to thank everybody there for all their help and kindness. Very much appreciated.

Following a knee operation, I decided I would need care and support rather than go home. I stayed for 8 nights. Before my stay, I visited the home and saw the room. From my arrival staff were very friendly, always introduced themselves, offered help but respected my decision when I wanted to help myself.
I always knew that if I needed help I could call. This stay following my op was the right thing for me. The gardens are beautiful, the other residents friendly, I was free to go out anytime I wished to walk through the village.

I have just visited my mother-in-law in Walton Manor. It is hard to believe that this was the same lady who was so ill over the Christmas period. Walton Manor has provided exemplary care and support to her and to us! Their prompt action involving medical agencies; their sensitive and dignified handling
of my mother-in-law at the most vulnerable of times has been quite inspiring! We have been involved, informed and consulted throughout the whole process of helping her back to better health. From day one we always felt that Walton manor was the best place she could be, our experience has completely confirmed our view. The unstinting efforts of the manager and all her staff are so appreciated. They have consistently and compassionately catered for her changing needs. Today I sat with a comfortable, happy, elegant lady engaged in activities taking place. She was well and happy! The hallmark of Walton Manor is kind and gentle encouragement to independence and dignity. She was discreetly taken to the bathroom by the staff. In February we celebrated her 90th birthday with a lovely party, a wonderful day and something we hardly dared for towards the end of 2018. Thank you Walton Manor.

We cannot praise Walton Manor enough for their care of my Grandma. She is treated with respect and kindness by al the staff. She has had mobility issues and the staff have preserved her dignity at all times, whilst encouraging her recovery and independence at all times. To make her feel secure an at
ease, they have changed furniture, layout and even her bed to make sure she is comfortable. We often visit with my young family have been made to feel so welcome by all the staff. At Walton, they clearly welcome and cater for visitors of all ages. We were so impressed when children's colouring books were produced so that my 3 and 5 year olds could 'colour with Great Grandma'. This was a special moment for us all! Staff offer juice and ice lollies in the summer. They go the extra mile to be inclusive and to tailor care to individual residents and their families. In my opinion there is none better than Walton Manor.

Thank you so much, Walton Manor, for looking after my mum. My mum is bereaved, has dementia, heart failure and is profoundly deaf. I can truthfully say that Walton manor work really hard to meed my Mum's needs. Her appetite is obviously affected by some, or all of the above at different times. Walton
Manor have bent over backwards to provide meals to tempt her to eat. On some occasions, they have gone completely off the menu to provide things she likes or prefers. We thank the cook for this, it has made a difference. The staff have monitored her carefully, provided snacks, even meals when she felt hungry, even in the middle of the night! They keep her well hydrated, she always has a drink by her side which she is reminded to drink. The staff are wonderful, kind and calm. We confidently leave her in their excellent care after our visits.

Whilst nothing is perfect, I have been into many care homes during my work and cannot think of a better care home than Walton Manor.
The staff generally give that bit extra. Just one example is a member of staff staying with my father in A&E until 3 am.
The staff are friendly, caring and approachable.
My
father has frequent outings, some arranged by the home, some by himself.
He has made friends in the home and is a sociable man.
It is clean, well furnished and the residents can enjoy the sunny conservatory and are often outside in the well-kept garden.

Mum needed care quite urgently, thankfully Walton Manor and it's wonderful staff came to the rescue. Mum was nervous and agitated about leaving her home and 'living with strangers'. The staff however have made her move so much easier than we could have hoped for. All the staff we have contact with show
great care, kindness and compassion towards Mum. There are regular high-quality activities that Mum always attends and enjoys - something, we as a family are thrilled about, as she is generally quite nervous with people she doesn't know well. To see her dancing to the old songs with others was a joy, she's not done this for years! There is a warm, calm, safe atmosphere at Walton Manor. As soon as you go in there's a friendly face to greet you and take you to where Mum is and to tell you what she's been up to and how she is, they always know! They treat us and Mum with friendliness and respect and always have time for you. I couldn't wish for anywhere better for my very special mum.

Very difficult transition as he was very reluctant. His room is perfect, clean and very well maintained - hotel like. Food, staff and care is excellent, lovely surroundings with lots of activities.
