I have found everyone at Cedar Grange to be very welcoming to both my Mum and myself when I visit. The home is clean, tidy and seems well maintained. The staff are always trying to interact with the residents and are putting on quite a few activities for them to take part in. I like the fact that you can visit anytime and don't have to pre-arrange a visit.

Reply from Lucy Turnbull, Manager at Cedar Grange

Thank you for your kind words i will ensure this is shared with the team, Mum is a big part of the Cedar Grange family and one of the first to always join in with the activities, she definitely enjoys a good dance.

Overall over a number of years I have found the care and support provided for my father and now mother, have been good. My parents have been treated with dignity by the staff. The facilities have been clean (room, lounge, dining area, toilet etc), with good quality meals. Recently staff reacted quickly to a safety/security matter, providing a solution, which has since kept my mother safe. Thank you.

No activities (activities manager left) there core residents are left to their own devices. Residents in Lodge left alone even for short periods, despite assurances there was someone in 24 hours (what if there was a fire). Residents not getting woken up at a reasonable time. Daily showering not happening.

Mum has been at Cedar Grange for 5 months and I have nothing but praise for the leadership and staff. I am really well informed about events and mum's personal well being. Visitors are made welcome at any time and a lot of thought and effort is put into providing a real variety of fun activities and experiences to engage the residents. Food, snacks and drinks are high quality and the cakes are delicious! I know that Mum is in a very good place, which is safe and clean and that she is being really well looked after. Communication is easy, nothing is too much trouble and I am very grateful to the current manager and team of staff for their genuine care and hard work.

The care home is located only four miles from my residence, so access and parking is very easy. I and my wife do not need to phone first, just turn up and are made very welcome. We obviously do not visit during meal times. We are welcome to go and sit in the dining room where we are on our own in quiet surroundings overlooking the garden.

Overall Experience
My grandmother moved into Cedar Grange in November after a couple of spells in hospital. In that time, I have had nothing but positive experiences with them and the care they provide.
The place is always warm, clean and tidy. The staff are exceptionally friendly to both the residents and visiting relatives, and it is clear that they care deeply about their work and the people they look after. The managers are always approachable, friendly and helpful and are constantly looking for ways to aid residents' care and well-being. There's also a high level of communication between the home and relatives which we really appreciate. Security is good with keypad locks on outside doors and one to the kitchen.

All in all, I have no complaints about Cedar Grange whatsoever and would recommend it to anyone who wants somewhere for their relative to be safe, happy and well cared for.

Overall Experience
My Dad has been to Cedar Grange for respite in the past and has recently become a full-time resident due to his dementia.
He lived at home with my mum and had very poor mobility and no interest in anything other than sleeping. Without fail, within two weeks of being in Cedar Grange, I saw a massive improvement in his physical and mental health. He is well-fed, interacts with staff and other residents, and now chats happily when we visit.
The staff and management are fabulous, kind, and caring and nothing is too much trouble. They genuinely care about the residents, one old lady had urinated and a staff member stood in front of her to shield her and protect her dignity until she could take her to change.

I am so grateful to have Dad safe with such lovely people. It was a massively hard decision to make but the way he has improved makes it so much easier for both my mum and I.

My mother has been a resident at the home for 5 months now and I'm extremely pleased with how well she has settled. The management changes are continuing to improve all aspects of the home, especially with the current stand-in Manager, whom I have excellent communication with. I can see that the quality of staff (some have been there quite a number of years) and good teamwork is a priority. The staff clearly care about their residents and I have peace of mind that my mother’s needs are recognised and catered for as best they can be. I would strongly recommend the home to anyone.

My mother is well looked after in this care home and the staff are second to none. She is happy and talks highly of the staff.
The change in management is noticeable and the stand-in manager is very efficient and no request is too much for her to handle.

Cedar Grange is a lovely old house set in gardens and mature trees. Songbirds can be heard singing every morning while my husband is still in bed. The atmosphere in the home is so relaxed and friendly. The carers are a mix of ages male and female and all are exceptionally good at their jobs. Nothing is ever overlooked every need is taken care of in the most gentle and respectful way. Mealtimes are special it’s a priority of the manager that all the residents enjoy their food. He has made sure that the food is good quality and really tasty. Ensuring that it’s eaten and very much enjoyed.
