I did not ever think I would be in a care home. They get a lot of bad press - I don't know why. I am safe, have good food, plenty to do, and I live how I like to. Carers respect my wishes and go out of their way to make us all happy. That is truly a difficult job that they do, and they all do their
best with a lovely smile.

I love it here. I did not ever think I would be in a home but I am safe and I have made friends and a new family. I set the tables and I wash up. I help to interview staff and I think it is great to have a say in the interview process. The manager always sees that I am okay and when I am worried, I
worry a lot.

I like being here. We play darts, cards and draughts. Food is lovely and always plenty. Everyone is kind to me and patient which is important when I am forgetful and I appreciate that most. I come to the office every day after lunch and nothing is too much trouble for the management, she always puts
me right. I like all the staff here and the other people. Thank you.

I reluctantly had to put Mum in a care home 2 years ago and after looking around several other homes, Cloverdale was a clear winner. The manager is very hands-on and all the girls treat Mum and the other residents like family. There are always plenty of activities going on and relatives are also invited
to join in. Highly recommended.

It is never easy to have a loved one in a care home. However, I feel the home and especially the manager has catered for my husband's needs, which have been made care specific for him. As his wife, I have also found the manager accommodating with asks and have been well supported through some very difficult
times. The care assistants work so hard to ensure the needs and comfort of residents are met and with a happy disposition.

My mother has only been in the home for a few weeks. She has settled well and loves the staff and the food.
The staff are all very dedicated to their jobs, and nothing is too much trouble for them, in fact, I think they go above and beyond their duties. We have had Aunties in other homes, and this
one far exceeds any that they have been in. It does not smell like some places, residents' clothes are washed daily, and everywhere is spotless and clean.
Mum even went to the auditorium and had a lovely time.
Thank you, Cloverdale; you do a great service for our loved ones.

My mother has been at Cloverdale Care Home for about one year and each time I visit I am impressed by the friendly, patient, caring staff. The residents participate in lots of activities and outings. The facility is always clean and tidy. The management is outstanding - caring, compassionate and they
always take time to support the family members too.

Cloverdale has a welcoming atmosphere when you step inside, decor is bright and airy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Each resident has their own room with their photos and personal effects.
Plenty of activities with visiting performers (if I can call them that)? Variety of entertainments to occupy
their time at Cloverdale.

My Mum is loving life at Cloverdale. I know that every time I see her either in person or via their Facebook page. All staff are very friendly and professional whilst taking great care of Mum. I’m especially grateful for their continued support during Covid-19. Mum is not elderly but has settled in
perfectly during her first 9 months. I hope she has many more years left there to continue enjoying life!

Although my dad was only here for two weeks before passing away, he was treated with great care and dignity. The staff did their best to find out his hobbies and interests and encouraged him to take part in activities which reflected this. Food was freshly prepared and individually tailored (Dad didn't
like gravy!) His room was clean and well maintained. Based on the short time that Dad was here, I would highly recommend Cloverdale and their excellent staff.

Cleanliness, care provision and staff friendliness are all generally good. Many of the care team go the 'extra mile' the care from a few is sadly lacking.
Dad is easy going and doesn't what to be a burden, preferring to remain as independent as his capabilities allow. Generally, the home struggles
with keeping dad in a daily routine (dressing, shower, teeth, shave) and do not provide appropriate activities, often have staff shortages.

The overall care provided is good. The staff are caring and responsive and do their best to meet my parent's needs. I feel satisfied they (my parents) are being looked after in a safe environment.
My only negative observation is that the building could be in a better state of repair (including the
garden which is untidy). Cleanliness of residents rooms could be better.

Moving into Cloverdale was a big deal for Mum as she feared loff of independence and identity. This has proved to be completely unfounded. All residents are encouraged to be individuals. They are stimulated with a wide range of activities and helped to be the best they can be (however good or poor that
may be).

When my mum entered Cloverdale she was convinced in July, she had given a gentleman a lift in her car and she was going to view his room. This is not the case as I personally spoke to the manager to see if there was a vacant room that month. I had spent the previous week with my mum who kept, not falling
over, but just tired and wanted to sleep wherever she found herself. Mum is not an overtly social person but since being in Cloverdale has come out of her shell and is now really mixing with others. I can only attribute this change in her to the dedicated staff who have the patience of saints.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.350)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.350) out of 10 for Cloverdale Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.775 for Cloverdale Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (63 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 80 Ratings = 4.775
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.575 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cloverdale Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.875
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
