My wife recently was in Ashfield for four weeks and generally her care was good and the staff were very pleasant but it was disappointing that some procedures were not followed correctly.
The staff are supposed to check clothing/ pockets etc before washing, had they had done this my wife's new IPhone
would not have gone through the washing procedure. Whilst they acknowledged they were at fault and had meetings on the subject I am unable to get reimbursed even though I sent them the receipt for the phone. I would add my wife enjoyed her stay so not all bad news!

My father spent three weeks in Airedale Care Home due to a severe Urinary tract infection, during this time we were offered a four-week rehabilitation stay at Ashfield by the care team who have been so supportive, to help to prepare him for a return back home.
He arrived on a Saturday and could hardly
walk and was feeling sick and still a little confused. Within three weeks, with the support of all the excellent staff, his recovery was amazing. He was back to eating three meals a day, dispensed with his Zimmer frame and now uses his sticks. The staff encouraged him to make his own bed and make his own hot drinks and organise his tablets, all in preparation for his return home. The big thing for us was the return of his confidence and I would like to put on record our sincere thanks for all involved from the moment he left Airedale to the moment he returned home we could not have asked for a more caring service.
He is back home and feeling great. A massive thank you from.

Mum came very frail and unwell. Being told she was going to a home for respite upset me. She has come on in leaps and bounds - thank you to all the staff at Ashfield. The due care and attention are second to none. They have built her up into a new woman, with nice food, baths and hairdressing. I can't
thank the team enough, including the male maintenance, who is so kind. Mum's stay here has taken a big weight off my shoulders, knowing that she is safe and well cared for. Thank you so much.

Current Review Score: 4.5 (4.500)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 4.5 (4.500) out of 10 for Ashfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 0.0 out of 5 from 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.500 for Ashfield is calculated as follows: ( (9 Excellents x 5) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashfield is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) =
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8. 0 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.8 = 0
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
