My husband has been in The Gatehouse since July this year and there is nothing the staff will not do for him to make his stay happy and comfortable. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone. I am made so welcome when I go.

My Mum receives the highest standard of care from the compassionate and friendly staff at The Gatehouse of whom I have always observed a high ratio of staff to residents and with whom she clearly enjoys a joke or two. From her early residency, during the pandemic when she was confused following her
stroke, Mum has regained her sense of humour and sociability due to the kindness and professionalism of the staff and now feels that The Gatehouse is home. I have always been met with smiles and friendly greetings from all staff during my visits, and have valued the time given to me when needed.

My mother has been at The Gatehouse for just over 12 months. The care that she has had over this time has been of the highest standard. The team have consistently provided a high quality of care and support to my mother over this time.
All of the staff I have had the pleasure of meeting have been friendly
and supportive.

My mother has been at The Gatehouse for a year now. She is well cared for and enjoys the excellent food and the daily activities. The staff are kind, knowledgeable and always friendly. As I live so far away, it gives me peace of mind to know she is in good hands.

My mother was a resident of The Gatehouse from September 2016 until June 2020. She had been recently widowed when she moved to The Gatehouse. Their care of her has been excellent throughout, but as she became increasingly frail, the staff became even kinder and gentler. They were also very supportive
of my sister and me throughout. Their approach was that we were a team in caring for my mother. She really liked the staff, the food and her room.
In her final weeks, the staff stepped up a notch, because we couldn't visit due to the pandemic. We were assured of phone access 24 hours a day, and when we set up video calls, staff dropped everything to make sure we had some video time with our mother. The day before she died, one member of staff stayed on after her shift to enable us to have as long as we wanted on the video. We cannot thank them enough.

The gatehouse is furnished in a comfortable homely way. The bedrooms are spacious with en suite. The communal rooms are bright and well decorated. The food is excellent. The care staff are attentive and sympathetic.

My mum-in-law feels really safe and comfortable here, it's a real home from home. Here they understand she has anxiety and sometimes needs reassurance that everything is ok. Her personal care is handled sensitively and the staff ate friendly and do a marvelous job. My mum-in-law was really nervous about
entering the are home system, but now she is really glad we chose The Gatehouse.

This is the best care home that I have ever visited. It is warm, open, friendly and caring. There is no smell, the food is excellent and everyone treated with kindness, dignity and humour.

The Gatehouse is an excellent care home, well managed with very good, caring staff. We looked at several care homes and The Gatehouse seemed the best by far and it is the best!

Having moved my mother into the Gatehouse we have found that nothing is too much for the staff to settle her in. I have also been accepted into helping with the ins and outs of how my mother likes to have everyday things done and be around her. This whole process has been very hard for my mother as
she really didn't want to leave home as many others I'm sure, but she is now settling well and all efforts to improve her experience are undertaken by the happy and diligent staff. The management are right in the mix of everyday affairs in the home and often get involved with helping the residents themselves. I don't think we could be much happier with the service.

The Gatehouse provides a very homely, personal setting for residential care, with the owners closely involved and the standard of care very high. My mother has been a resident for over 5 years, with some staff having been there throughout her stay and has been well looked after. Carers and staff are
attentive to residents and their individual needs, they encourage independence when they can. They are always welcoming to visitors and provide updates on care and well-being. The rooms are pleasant, airy, clean and well-maintained and the garden (and hens) provide a colourful setting. Menus are well chosen, varied and imaginative. The food is to a high standard. The activities and events are entertaining and varied, with music (often live) being a strong feature. There is a warm and caring atmosphere which ensures confidence in a safe and comfortable environment being provided for the residents.

Placing my mum in a home was the most difficult decision I've had to make. Finding a home that was as near as possible to being a "home" was most important for me and my mum. The Gatehouse care home is warm and friendly and the care staff and management are truly caring people and cannot do enough for
everybody. Mum is really happy there. All the staff at the home interact with the residents to make their days enjoyable. Whether it's playing bingo, dominoes or doing quizzes and with professional entertainers coming in throughout the month to sing or play music, it's like a 4-star hotel. The food is good and varied to suit all tastes and if special diets are needed, then this is catered for. Mum is happy at The Gatehouse and I am happy and relaxed that I know mum is well looked after.

Three years ago my mother was lonely, not eating properly and falling. The Gatehouse has solved all these problems and she is happy there. We are now away quite a lot and there are never any problems, they see to all her needs.
The Gatehouse is very homely and friendly with a very nice garden and even
2 very fat hens, it is also very easy to visit and very welcoming.

We were looking for a residential home for our Mother and we found the Gatehouse after it was recommended to us by several people.
She is settled and content, simply because it is like her own home but with excellent care, both from all staff and management.
The lounge and dining room are beautifully
furnished and spotlessly clean, as are all areas and the bedrooms.
It is really like stepping into someone's home.
The most important thing is the care, and contentment for the resident which in turn helps them to settle into a new home.
All the staff, care team, chefs and management are so friendly and very professional. It really is such a happy place.
I and family would not hesitate in recommending The Gatehouse to anyone, which we already have done.
