Having been lovingly restored, The Hall offers the very best facilities in the region for truly lifelong care. The addition of nine brand new rooms reflects a dedication to providing a luxurious lifestyle choice.

Located in the picturesque village of Thornton-Le-Dale, there are now 47 stunning rooms, including flats which are ideally suited to married couples or siblings wishing to live together. Each room has an en-suite bath or full shower room, has been beautifully designed by a local interior designer and has spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and wildlife.

The expert team at The Hall is dedicated to improving and maintaining quality of life for all its residents. The enthusiastic activities co-ordinator provides a variety of person-centred care activities based on individuals’ needs and wishes to allow everyone to lead an active life, creating a vibrant environment and generating fun and conversation.

The home provides 24-hour care and support, and respite services and a full calendar of activities and entertainment.

Delicious, home cooked food is created by the home's award-winning chef. The home has extensive grounds and gardens with stunning views.

Aside from being generally delighted and impressed with the levels of care, comfort and cleanliness at The Hall, this review specifically relates to my lockdown experience.
I have not had any contact with Mum since February. As an asthmatic myself, I have been careful since lockdown and was very pleased
that The Hall took immediate action to secure the safety of their residents. So whilst it was personally sad that I couldn't visit, I completely understood the reasoning behind it.
The fact that there has not been a single case of COVID at The Hall demonstrates that the level of care has been exceptional and also shows the sacrifices that the staff must have made in keeping themselves safe and socially distanced in their private lives.
My visit on 6 August was an absolute joy. Whilst feeling secure in following their stringent procedures, I was able to visit Mum (coincidently on her 87th birthday) and have the most lovely visit that was full of laughs and love. Thank you all.

My mother was a happy resident here for four years. It is a very friendly home and whilst visiting I got to know many of the other residents. When Mum passed away I did not wish to leave The Hall and so became a Volunteer (being doing this for six years now). The care is still great and the facilities
and activities just keep improving.

My mother has been a resident for over three years and has a lovely set of rooms overlooking the beautifully maintained gardens and the fields beyond. The staff are all so kind and caring, making every effort to accommodate all the different residents’ needs. Their friendly approach has always been
a great comfort to the family but I have to commend them on their exemplary vigilance during the lockdown due to COVID-19. The Hall shut their doors to all visitors a week before the official lockdown but the manager has come up with some innovative ways of making sure that the families can keep in touch with their loved ones. This includes time slots that can be booked on a dedicated mobile, a video call or a face to face through the glass of the conservatory using the mobile to speak to the resident. The look on my mother’s face when we saw each other for the first time for over six weeks, albeit through that glass, was a joy to behold. I would certainly recommend The Hall to anyone.

Dad has been living at The Hall for nearly a year following the death of Mum. As Dad has dementia this was a very difficult and confusing time for him but the staff were very caring and understanding from day one, they had all been well briefed on Dad's background and had already identified other residents
to introduce dad to.
There's plenty of activities for the residents to get involved in from singing to gardening and walking to the pub (before lockdown), visits from the local school and involvement with the village hub. In the last few months, activities are still taking place and families get to see their loved ones in pictures and videos. We have access to phone calls, video calls and window of opportunity visits which gives families the chance to keep in touch with their loved ones. The Hall is a safe caring happy place with amazing cakes.

I've visited my grandmother at The Hall a few times since she started living there and the place is lovely, as are the staff. Everyone is very friendly and the residents are treated very well. Lots of interactive and fun activities in the day for residents to take part in. All in all, a lovely care
home.

I have been very impressed with the quick response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the trust's decision to lockdown The Hall a week before the Government gave the order. The carers also rang relatives to inform them of this and to allow us to visit our relatives before the doors closed.
My father has
been at this care home for two and a half years, and since he moved into the lovely ground floor flat which has direct access onto the beautiful gardens, he looks amazingly healthy. Probably due to the fabulous food served regularly!
During lockdown, The Hall have organised an appointment system to visit your relative and talk via a phone link whilst being safely distanced by the windows of the conservatory. It has been very emotional seeing my father in this way, but at least we can see that our relatives are being cared for, look happy and can talk to them whilst being in their presence. Well done for introducing this initiative.

My dad has been at The Hall for several years and he now regards it as his home. Over the years my dad's health has massively deteriorated but his needs have always been take care of. Staff are always friendly, they offer help and advice whenever needed. The Hall is a truly stunning building and is
kept to an amazing standard with the addition this year of a large sunroom for residents to enjoy and look at the gardens. The Hall has its own chef who cooks fresh meals daily, to a very high standard, while still meeting any requirements that are needed. The management is the heartbeat of The Hall with a wide range of experience and expertise they guild the staff with extra training to achieve a service and care for residents that is hard to beat.
Thank you, The Hall, in my opinion, the best in Yorkshire.

I have been visiting a family member at The Hall for several years now. I have nothing but admiration for the staff and the care provided is second to none.
The management of the home is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for the management team and the staff. They are simply fantastic!
I
have chosen now to post my review given the unprecedented times we find ourselves in, the continued high spirits of the staff, the care and attention given to our family members whilst we are unable to visit and the continued fantastic running of The Hall leaves me knowing my family member could not be in better hands.

My mother moved to The Hall at the end of January 2020, so hasn’t been there very long. We chose The Hall after having looked at around a dozen or more homes in the area. We liked the calm atmosphere, the size of the room that my mother chose, the grounds of the property and the fact that all of the
residents we met over the five times we visited seemed happy and relaxed. My mother was able to furnish the room with all her own furniture which we hoped would make her feel more comfortable and able to settle in more easily. And then almost two months later the world was in lockdown. The Hall helped with phone calls and video calls and after a few weeks we were able to “visit” through the orangery windows which has been such a good thing to do. Being able to see mum and see she looked well was reassuring to the family. The staff have been happy to answer any questions and concerns we have. I am confident that the staff at The Hall are looking after my mother very well.

My mum has been a resident of The Hall for 14 months now. The care and compassion she receives from the carers are exceptional. I feel so relieved to know that although this a most difficult decision to place my beautiful mum in residential care it has been the best one. The staff understand what mum
requires to maintain her health and more importantly her well being. They understand how dementia impacts on lives. The Hall is a well-equipped home with many home comforts and beautiful gardens accessible to residents. My mum is able to interact with the garden as her bedroom overlooks it and there is a direct access. The Hall is a community and it is mum’s home. I am so grateful to each and every member of the staff team for their love, care and dedication. The joy that is shared via social media has given me so much comfort during this particular time of Lockdown. The creativity of the staff team to keep us connected despite the barriers are wonderful. The Hall and it's staff provide the best possible care for my brother, who suffers from dementia. He is not a very sociable person; prefers his own company and gets on very well with the female staff members. For some reason eh does not get on too well with male staff members, but it is certainly not
their fault. One particular male staff member he has not taken to at all, for no reason at all, as he is a very caring and gentle person. The staff and the manager could not be bettered. The Hall itself and it's surroundings are lovely and kept in tip top condition. Both my wife and I consider it would be ideal for us, she the need arise!
