I have been visiting a family member at The Hall for several years now. I have nothing but admiration for the staff and the care provided is second to none.
The management of the home is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for the management team and the staff. They are simply fantastic!
I
have chosen now to post my review given the unprecedented times we find ourselves in, the continued high spirits of the staff, the care and attention given to our family members whilst we are unable to visit and the continued fantastic running of The Hall leaves me knowing my family member could not be in better hands.
5-star service as always, highly recommended.

My mother moved to The Hall at the end of January 2020, so hasn’t been there very long. We chose The Hall after having looked at around a dozen or more homes in the area. We liked the calm atmosphere, the size of the room that my mother chose, the grounds of the property and the fact that all of the
residents we met over the five times we visited seemed happy and relaxed. My mother was able to furnish the room with all her own furniture which we hoped would make her feel more comfortable and able to settle in more easily. And then almost two months later the world was in lockdown. The Hall helped with phone calls and video calls and after a few weeks we were able to “visit” through the orangery windows which has been such a good thing to do. Being able to see mum and see she looked well was reassuring to the family. The staff have been happy to answer any questions and concerns we have. I am confident that the staff at The Hall are looking after my mother very well.

My mum has been a resident of The Hall for 14 months now. The care and compassion she receives from the carers are exceptional. I feel so relieved to know that although this a most difficult decision to place my beautiful mum in residential care it has been the best one. The staff understand what mum
requires to maintain her health and more importantly her well being. They understand how dementia impacts on lives. The Hall is a well-equipped home with many home comforts and beautiful gardens accessible to residents. My mum is able to interact with the garden as her bedroom overlooks it and there is a direct access. The Hall is a community and it is mum’s home. I am so grateful to each and every member of the staff team for their love, care and dedication. The joy that is shared via social media has given me so much comfort during this particular time of Lockdown. The creativity of the staff team to keep us connected despite the barriers are wonderful. Thank you so much.

The Hall and it's staff provide the best possible care for my brother, who suffers from dementia. He is not a very sociable person; prefers his own company and gets on very well with the female staff members. For some reason eh does not get on too well with male staff members, but it is certainly not
their fault. One particular male staff member he has not taken to at all, for no reason at all, as he is a very caring and gentle person. The staff and the manager could not be bettered. The Hall itself and it's surroundings are lovely and kept in tip top condition. Both my wife and I consider it would be ideal for us, she the need arise!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.880)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.880) out of 10 for The Hall Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.880 for The Hall Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (227 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 258 Ratings = 4.88
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Hall Residential Care Home is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
