Overall Experience

I would like to say in my experience - my mother is looked after very well. All members of staff have treated my mother with respect and dignity, person-centered care. If any concerns are raised the senior staff and other staff have listened to me and have resolved issues in good time. I am pleased with the staff, care and management.

Overall Experience

My 92-year old mother spent the last 8 months of her life in Birchlands. She first arrived in December 2015, at a time when the home was experiencing a significant amount of turbulence; new owners, a new manager, the induction of new permanent staff (as opposed to agency) and the reception of growing numbers of new residents. I have been a very frequent visitor (3 or 4 times a week) and one of the things that has struck me most over the past 8 months has been the scale of improvements. Public spaces redecorated, new furniture, new staff uniforms and a wide range of resident activities introduced.

Mum loved her time at Birchlands. All of the staff are thoroughly professional and the care staff in particular are compassion and patience personified. The home has also maintained excellent communication with me.

I would thoroughly recommend Birchlands to anyone considering residential care for one of their relatives.

Overall Experience
My grand dad spent the last four months of his very long and valued life in the care of Birchlands.
He was treated with the utmost love, care, respect and dignity.

As a family we cannot express how utterly thankful and grateful we are that he was cared for in such a wonderful environment.

The staff should be very proud of the care that they provide to the residents, very professional, whilst adding some extremely friendly and caring values to to the family.

When my Granddad passed away in the early hours of the morning, the phone call, and the sad news that he had passed away was delivered in the most respectful way possible. Not easy for the poor nurse on the night shift to do!

Please accept our very grateful thanks to the entire team at Birchlands.

You really do have an excellent team there, respect, reward and value them!

A very grateful family
