I visit my friend very regularly, at least twice a week.
When I visit the staff are always very courteous and welcoming.
The atmosphere is good, in fact, it is kind.
My friend is quite a private lady but the staff just seem to make her feel that they care and she usually responds.
I wish them
well.

My late mother lived at Birchlands for just over a year. Although she had great reluctance to move into care she immediately settled. The staff treated her with immense care and dignity and in my late mum's words like a "lady". Her diet improved the food presented to her was nutritious and the choices
were immense. The home itself was clean and tidy and the laundry taken well care off. My brothers and sisters had such peace of mind when mum was living at Birchlands.

My uncle who is 88 went into Birchland just before Christmas on the second floor. The staff are so kind and supportive we are extremely happy with the care and they make us feel welcome any time of day. My uncle is very happy and he thinks the staff are wonderful as they are a family unit and approachable
and make him laugh.

Overall care good. A varied menu cooked well. My husband was (is) very happy with all the staff and finds them caring. I too am always made welcome whenever I visit, which is most days overall, this is a very good care home with a happy family atmosphere.

Birchlands Nursing Home has a very warm, welcoming environment. The staff are generally very attentive and caring. Mum has settled well, although initially struggled to accept being a permanent resident, the staff during this time were so supportive. Mum has bonded well with some staff in particular
which not only helped mum but us as a family too. There is always someone on hand to chat with any concerns or general questions.

Both my grandparents are resident at Birchlands (just coming up to a year in February). When they moved in they hadn't seen each other for 4 weeks as they had both fallen at home, grandad came straight from the hospital and gran from respite care. I visited them on the first night and it was good to
see them back together again. The transition couldn't have been any better. The staff wanted to know all about them and made me feel welcome. The staff are approachable and provide answers to my questions I'm never left not knowing.


The food is good and is enjoyed by both, especially grandad who requires a soft diet. (He would be the first to tell them and me if he didn't like anything)


The activities are good, gran always has a smile on her face when telling me what she has been up to.


I visit twice a week and it is reassuring to know that they are both being looked after.


Thank you to all the staff for everything that you do, your all stars.


I would recommend Birchlands.

We had to move my mum into another care home due to the closure of the home she was in. My sister and I went to view Birchlands Nursing Home and we were both impressed with the welcome my mum and ourselves were given.
They showed my mum the room she would be in and a week later we moved her in.
All
our family are extremely happy with the care our mother is given and it is a big emotional upheaval when you have to move homes but mum has settled and looks really well.

My experience of Birchlands Care Home since mum started to live there has always been a positive one. My mother is so happy and has thrived since living there, this is all thanks to the dedicated care from all the staff. Every member of staff I have met has been kind and caring to the residents my mum
has only praise for them and this is os reassuring for us as a family.
The home itself is lovely and quality of meals excellent.

Home is a pleasant place to visit. It feels like mums home now. Lovely location, nice peaceful setting. Having experienced caring for mum in her own home we feel mum is now in a safe/secure place it has reduced our stress levels considerably. Mum seems happy and content. We can see mum understands that
she is safe and there is help and support around her. A friend recently visited mum and was extremely impressed with the home and how content mum was. It has really given us our lives back!

Birchlands is a warm and friendly home.The staff are kind and caring. Birchlands is clean and nicely decorated and is a home from home. It has a welcoming atmosphere. I know that my mother is being well looked after and is safe and comfortable there, she has improved in her general wellbeing and physical
strength because of the stimulation of being with other people. She can walk around using her walking frame and I know she is safe and the staff keep an eye on her. This has given her more confidence and made her more independent which is lovely for me to see.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, my father needed full-time residential care and was accepted into Birchlands Care Home on the second floor. From the moment we arrived the standard of care dad has received from all members of staff has been fantastic.

Mum moved into Birchlands Nursing Home a month ago and we are very pleased with the care and support she is receiving- especially from her designated care worker. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and she has settled in well and enjoys the facilities. We are very happy to have chosen this care home.

I would like to say in my experience - my mother is looked after very well. All members of staff have treated my mother with respect and dignity, person-centered care. If any concerns are raised the senior staff and other staff have listened to me and have resolved issues in good time. I am pleased

My 92-year old mother spent the last 8 months of her life in Birchlands. She first arrived in December 2015, at a time when the home was experiencing a significant amount of turbulence; new owners, a new manager, the induction of new permanent staff (as opposed to agency) and the reception of growing
numbers of new residents. I have been a very frequent visitor (3 or 4 times a week) and one of the things that has struck me most over the past 8 months has been the scale of improvements. Public spaces redecorated, new furniture, new staff uniforms and a wide range of resident activities introduced.


Mum loved her time at Birchlands. All of the staff are thoroughly professional and the care staff in particular are compassion and patience personified. The home has also maintained excellent communication with me.


I would thoroughly recommend Birchlands to anyone considering residential care for one of their relatives.

My grand dad spent the last four months of his very long and valued life in the care of Birchlands.
He was treated with the utmost love, care, respect and dignity.
As a family we cannot express how utterly thankful and grateful we are that he was cared for in such a wonderful environment.


The staff

should be very proud of the care that they provide to the residents, very professional, whilst adding some extremely friendly and caring values to to the family.


When my Granddad passed away in the early hours of the morning, the phone call, and the sad news that he had passed away was delivered in the most respectful way possible. Not easy for the poor nurse on the night shift to do!


Please accept our very grateful thanks to the entire team at Birchlands.


You really do have an excellent team there, respect, reward and value them!
