Reviews

8.8 Rosevale has a Review Score of 8.8 (8.802)

The Review Score of 8.8 (maximum of 10) for Rosevale is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Rosevale in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.597 for Rosevale is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.597

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.205 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosevale is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.75

    2. Target of 8.8 positive Reviews (44 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 4 Reviews ÷ 8.8 Target = 0.455

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My mother has been living at Rosevale for ten and a half years and from the first visit, I felt a caring and friendly atmosphere which others have also observed. I totally trust the staff with my mother's care and well being and to see her happy is very satisfying to me. I feel happy that she is in a comfortable home and I like all the staff there.

Mum was at Rosevale towards the end of her life and died there on 7/8/17. All staff were excellent and treated her with care and compassion. Staff engaged very well with us as a family and always kept us informed of any changes to mum. There was always a lot of activities for mum to join in and the care was excellent.
I have seen lots of compassion.

The home is just that - a home. Residents have plenty of freedom to carry on as they would at home, but with a watchful eye to ensure their safety. It has a cosy feeling, unlike purpose built homes which have no soul in my opinion. The garden is good and easily accessible to all residents and activities to suit all those who wish to take part, and quiet areas for those who don't. Staff are very good and treat residents as individuals.

Mum had a four-week respite stay at Rosevale. She was treated with dignity and care at all times. In the time she was there, her general health improved greatly. She thoroughly enjoyed her meals and the activities provided.

My step father had a stroke in August 2015 and has completely lost his memory. As I am his closest relative and his "next of kin" I decided to move him closer to my home in York. We looked at least a dozen homes but Rosevale stood out to us as the most homely but they had a waiting list. In the mean time the hospital were anxious to discharge him so I got him into one home on respite basis. Then our second choice of home contacted us with an offer of a place but after 5 weeks told us they couldn't care for his needs. Rosevale rung with the offer of a place and we have been so happy with the care and help they offer (to my step father and to us his family) excellent!
