The staff are amazing and are so patient especially with the more challenging residents. The rooms are lovely and the housekeeping team maintain really high standards. They also interact with the residents. Mum really enjoys the food too. To know that she is well looked after is great.

Both my parents reside in Rosevale. The staff are caring and kind. Management is helpful and cooperative. (Having moved them from a care home with a management team who were not). I love the activities, the feeling of the home, and the food. I am finally coming to terms with their life in a care home
due to the support of this team.
Reply from Wellburn Care Homes, Marketing Co-ordinator at RosevaleIt's wonderful to hear that our team at Rosevale has been supportive and helpful throughout yours and your parents' journey - this is such an important element to the right home. My mother came into Rosevale for a period of respite care.
Prior to admittance, she had had a number of falls, and my brother and I decided she needed round the clock care, initially over the Christmas period, and with an intention of deciding about her longer-term needs in the New Year. We have been
delighted with everything about Rosevale. The home is well managed and the staff is excellent. Unfortunately, there was a confirmed case of Covid in the home shortly after mother's arrival. We were therefore faced with an unexpected situation. The management and staff have coped extremely well and have made great efforts to minimise the effect on residents and relatives.
I am unable to comment on activities due to Covid restrictions. I can't comment on value for money as I have no previous experience in the care sector. My assumption is the costs are comparable with other providers.
Reply from Wellburn Care Homes, Marketing Co-ordinator at RosevaleThank you for the lovely review. It is wonderful to hear that your mother is enjoying her stay at Rosevale - the staff are always working very hard to make sure every resident is happy and comfortable and their needs are met.

When I take my mother to visit my father the staff have always been friendly and welcoming. The home has a lovely feel when you step inside and is clean and tidy. I am happy that my father is receiving the care and attention he needs. I have also visited with my husband whose own mother was in a care
home for a while. Rosevale is so much nicer than the home she was in!

We needed to arrange temporary residential care for my Mother and chose Rosevale. The quality of genuine care and empathy evidenced by the staff is excellent. They are a really caring team. For instance, we visited one afternoon and some of the residents were enjoying an organised bean bag game in the
sunny, well maintained back garden. Mum said she also enjoyed games of dominoes and bingo. The standard of the home itself is top-quality, freshly refurbished, and very comfortable. Mum was happy with her time there and I would have no hesitation recommending them.

My mum has been in Rosevale for about 2 1/2 years. This was the first time I had been able to visit her for over a year. The arrangements for a Covid test and seeing her in her room were excellent. Over the past year (and always) the staff have been amazing in keeping the residents safe, cared for and
entertained. Although mum has Alzheimer's it has been lovely to see photographs of her enjoying herself and sometimes taking part in the entertainment. I was also pleased to see that she had put on a bit of weight, which she needed to.
When I have visited in the past the staff have always been very kind and considerate to me and I have enjoyed taking part in some of the singing sessions.
I would highly recommend Rosevale.

This is a review about a visit to my great aunt in Rosevale's "garden bubble" which is like a freestanding conservatory divided by a microphoned glass partition through which you can speak with the resident. My wife and I arrived for our half-hour appointment in the garden bubble but first made our
way through a disinfection booth and then along the footpath to the garden gate and into a sealed booth, the bubble where my great aunt was waiting. Although suffering from dementia, she looked so well and seemed so pleased to see us we could tell she was happy and contented with Rosevale. Having not seen her in almost a year, we chatted away and the time soon passed to say our goodbyes. Thank you Woodvale and your staff for making the visit a pleasure for all of us.

I have been delighted with the care my wonderful mum has had over the last six months of her life. Mum had dementia, and the care staff were great with her, so caring and understanding. The entertainment and activities were second to none, and all the resident had a wonderful time. I am so happy Mum
went to Rosevale and I can't thank the staff enough for the care they gave her.

My mother has been at Rosevale for 6 months and settled so well. She is happy there and loves the staff who, especially since lockdown, have excelled themselves. They keep us
updated with photos and messages and since they opened the new garden room with a glass partition, we have been able to visit
her. She loved the recent 'beach day' complete with donkey!

Following the sad passing of my mum, I just wanted to write and thank you all for the care and sensitivity you showed to her. Rosevale always had a lovely, welcoming feel and my mum was very happy here. She always looked clean and well looked after. So once again thank you to everyone from the kitchen,
laundry and domestic staff, the activity coordinator, care team and team leaders right up to the manager. We didn't get to know all your names but it's obvious you all pull together to make Rosevale a home to be proud of.
Thank you once again for your truly remarkable hard work.

I am so very impressed with the care provided at Rosevale since my mum moved there in July 2020.
It has been wonderful to be able visit my mum in their purpose-built visiting pod in the garden, and to see her smiling face on photos on their Facebook page.
The activities co-ordinator put together a
beach-themed day, with games in the garden, entertainers, staff dressed up and there was even a donkey visit.
They had fish and chips and a visit from an ice cream van, and to see my mum looking engaged and happy in a social environment was wonderful.
I selected Rosevale on the basis of a telephone conversation I had with the manager and discussions with another member of staff. Both gave me a really good feel of the ethos there and showed real empathy with the circumstances of Mum's advancing Alzheimer's. I had looked at their CQC report and their website but due to COVID restrictions I was unable to visit the home.
I'd highly recommend Rosevale for residential dementia care.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.765)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.765) out of 10 for Rosevale is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.765 for Rosevale is calculated as follows: ( (194 Excellents x 5) + (48 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 247 Ratings = 4.765
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosevale is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
