I did not want my mother to go into a home, but I could not have been more wrong. The home and facilities were fantastic. The staff were so caring, they went out of their way to look after the patients. My mother was very happy there. We have only moved her because she now needs nursing care. The family
are all devastated. Thank you to all the staff for giving my mother such a happy two years. She will miss them all.

In my view, this is a good care home for my 90-year-old mother who has Alzheimer's and is quite frail now. The staff are very caring and look after her along with the other residents in a dignified and compassionate way. The home is always warm and well staffed, her room is nice and the food is very
good. I particularly like the daily activities that are planned to keep the residents occupied and stimulated both within the home but more importantly out into the local environment e.g. visiting a local cafe or garden centre. I like the regular tea/coffee rounds to make sure the residents are kept fed/hydrated and over the last 6 months, of my almost weekly visits, I have noted that the level of care is consistently good during the day and night. They have all the necessary mobility equipment as well as security and fall alarms in place to guard against the unexpected. A good place.

Mum has picked up so much since she went into Rosevale and she is now settled and as good as she ever was. The staff are always friendly and welcoming when I or others visit and it gives comfort to our family that Mum is being well cared for.

I cannot praise Rosevale enough. The home is very well looked after, with no nasty smells. Care and respect for residents is very evident. The garden area is lovely and very accessible. My dad’s health is much improved since coming here. Regular activities are also good for his stimulation and to
avoid boredom. My dad has been in three different places and this is the best, and the only one I would recommend. I feel very comfortable leaving my dad in their care.

The staff are so friendly and so experienced, very welcoming. My father has fitted in very well, in his words 'everybody is so good to me and the food just keeps coming'. I have seen many homes and this is the BEST that's the reason he is here.


The entertainment is great. All staff are brilliant.

Both myself and my wife are amazed at how quickly my mother has picked up. The hot summer had virtually killed her off, but the care team and the good food has built her up and she can once again look forward to reaching 100 in 2 years time.

Such a happy, caring atmosphere.
It's obvious that the staff are hand-picked and love their work and they are very good at it.
As a result, my mother has settled well, something we had not really anticipated and she is very grateful for the excellent care she received and happy.

The home is lovely and staff are very welcoming. It is a beautifully decorated home and spotlessly clean at all times.
Management will always help and keep you up to date at all times.

I have found the service of care given is extremely good. Staff are caring and appear to look after the persons living there very well. Always seem to make time to attend to persons needs. Staff are polite and helpful to visitors.

Mum has been resident at Rosevale for almost three years. During this time her dementia and mobility problems have become worse but Rosevale have always risen to the challenge. The caring staff are really exceptional, they show great love and compassion which makes me feel she is in the right place.

Every time I visit my aunt, the staff are very welcoming and helpful. My aunt is very happy there and her care is excellent. She has been hospitalised a few times and every care is taken to ensure she is not worried or frightened. She is accompanied by a carer at all times.

My mother has been living at Rosevale for ten and a half years and from the first visit, I felt a caring and friendly atmosphere which others have also observed. I totally trust the staff with my mother's care and well being and to see her happy is very satisfying to me. I feel happy that she is in

Mum was at Rosevale towards the end of her life and died there on 7/8/17. All staff were excellent and treated her with care and compassion. Staff engaged very well with us as a family and always kept us informed of any changes to mum. There was always a lot of activities for mum to join in and the
care was excellent.

The home is just that - a home. Residents have plenty of freedom to carry on as they would at home, but with a watchful eye to ensure their safety. It has a cosy feeling, unlike purpose built homes which have no soul in my opinion. The garden is good and easily accessible to all residents and activities
to suit all those who wish to take part, and quiet areas for those who don't. Staff are very good and treat residents as individuals.

Mum had a four-week respite stay at Rosevale. She was treated with dignity and care at all times. In the time she was there, her general health improved greatly. She thoroughly enjoyed her meals and the activities provided.

My step father had a stroke in August 2015 and has completely lost his memory. As I am his closest relative and his "next of kin" I decided to move him closer to my home in York. We looked at least a dozen homes but Rosevale stood out to us as the most homely but they had a waiting list. In the mean
time the hospital were anxious to discharge him so I got him into one home on respite basis. Then our second choice of home contacted us with an offer of a place but after 5 weeks told us they couldn't care for his needs. Rosevale rung with the offer of a place and we have been so happy with the care and help they offer (to my step father and to us his family) excellent!

Natalie Sleightholm

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2010

Natalie's journey with Wellburn Care Homes started in 2010 as a domestic member of staff at Rosevale Residential Care Home, before starting as their Administrator and Bank Team Leader in 2014. In January 2017, Natalie was promoted to Deputy Manager, and acting Home Manager in 2018, before becoming Home Manager in 2019.


Before moving back to Rosevale in 2024, Natalie was also Home Manager of St Catherine's Dementia Specialist Care Home from 2022.
