Riverhead Hall

from P W (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 January 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother was a resident at Riverhead Hall for only 9 weeks. In her final weeks, she was well cared for by professional and caring staff. More than that, family members were cared for as well, particularly my father, who tried to visit daily. We liked that the residents living with dementia live alongside
those of more capacity. She was encouraged to join in the activities that she could and my father made welcome to help her with these where possible. There's always 'something happening' which is great. Her last days were particularly trying for us, but the staff helped us navigate this time and assisted Mum in an unobtrusive manner, tea, biscuits and even the odd meal when we needed them. Nicky's door was always open for a chat where needed and the home supported meetings with agencies efficiently - doctor, social services etc. My father has already asked how he can get his name down, as he was so pleased with the care at Riverhead Hall!

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our lovely mum has been a resident since December 2024. She made the decision herself to want to move to Craghall and ever since arriving, she has been so happy. In her own words she just loves it. For us, it's like mum has an extended family! The care and attention she gets is amazing! Our mum is listened
to and she is heard! Even though there are so many other lovely residents, our mum is cared for as an individual which is of great comfort and joy to my brother and I. We have been made to feel part of the Craghall family too. Craghall is stunning! The grounds are beautiful, everything about it is like home from home! The entertainment, the activities, the outdoor adventures organised by Nicola and the constant stimulation is invaluable. We cant thank Chelsea, Mary and the rest of the staff enough for what they're doing for our mum. The peace of mind we have in knowing she is looked after and cared for, that she has company and that she loves living at Craghall is the best feeling.
Reply from Wellburn Care Homes, Marketing Assistant at CraghallWhat a fantastic review! It's lovely to hear that your mum is so content in her new home with us here at Craghall, and that she is receiving such a high level of personalised and dedicated care. We are certainly very happy to have welcomed you into our Wellburn family! Thank you for the trust you and your mum have placed in us - it means a lot to us. Your feedback is invaluable, and we'll ensure that your kind words are passed onto the wider team at Craghall.

Chelsea, Mary and all the team at Craghall have gone above and beyond to make my mum feel at home. It was the hardest decision to put her in a care home but we knew Craghall was the place for her as my grandma spent 3 very happy years there. The team there could not have been more loving and caring
with my mum and supportive of us as a family. I will be forever grateful for their kindness and dedication. There is lots of entertainment and activities which my mum loves provided by the very wonderful Nicola the entertainments manager. Mums bedroom is always clean and tidy and the communal spaces are beautiful. They really think of everything at Craghall and have a wonderful caring team who work tirelessly to ensure their residents are happy and comfortable. They definitely go above and beyond.

Mam has been a resident for 4 months we as her sons were anxious about the transition from home to care home. She has settled in so well is happy and well cared for. The staff are fantastic and keep her stimulated. The activities and variety of activities are impressive. We all know that singing is
good for the brain. Mam has regularly been serenaded by invited singers she has been singing and dancing, involved in crafting , decorating as well as trips out. She has developed friendships with fellow residents and the care staff. Mam is thriving and we could not be happier she has really come out of herself which is lovely to witness.

Craghall has been my mother's new home since September. The family and my mother were very nervous about such a fundamental change to her life but advancing Alzheimer's meant the decision was inevitable. Three months down the line and we could not be more happy with the standard of the environment,
care and facilities Craghall provides. Staff are expert and committed to providing bespoke care for my mother. They have quickly got to know her and what makes her tick. Nothing seems too much trouble and the attention to providing activities and letting family members know my mother is doing well with regular videos and pictures is second to none. We are 100% sure now that we made the right decision and that Craghall is the right place for her to be safe looked after and cared for.

Riverhead Hall

from Leon G (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 8 December 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mother-in-law was a resident at Riverhead Hall for over 2 years. I visited her with my wife several times a week during that time. I have never encountered a higher standard of care in any other home I have visited. My wife was told about the family atmosphere Riverhead creates and that is so true.
The high standard of care afforded to my Mother-in-law was also extended to us, everyone was so supportive, which made the difficult journey we took as a family, through her dementia, slightly easier to cope with.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, whatever the time of day or night. The extensive activities on offer really helped in the early stages and we found taking part in the dementia training for families that was offered most useful and informative.
In the final stages of my Mother-in-laws life we felt very supported, all the staff made that time so much easier to cope with and we were comforted by the compassion and love that was shown to all of us.

My experience of Nightingale Care Home is entirely positive. My father was extremely well looked after both from the point of view of his health but also his personal well being. The team were thoughtful, attentive and supportive, not only to my dad but also to me at what was a stressful time. All of
the arrangements from initial viewing to nurses/ GP appointments etc were handled promptly and clearly. The team went out of their way to keep me informed of every aspect of dad's stay at the care home and I really can't rate them highly enough - they had unlimited patience and nothing was too much trouble for them. The thing I was most happy about was that they treated Dad as an individual and went out of their way to find out about his life so that they could chat to him about things that were important to him - he really couldn't have been happier and this was a man who was extremely independent and intent on staying so. Finally it may be a small thing but the food was fantastic!

Both my dear mum and stepfather were residents. I live abroad and don't have siblings so it was so important for me to have communication with the home and them. The staff went above and beyond to provide this. I can't emphasise enough the most wonderful care they received. Mum had Parkinsons and was
bedridden but she was so well cared for and loved it melted my heart. If and when I ever need care this is where I would want to be.

My Dad went for a month's respite into this beautiful care home.
You are greeted at the door with a lovely smile from a caring member of staff.
The rooms are well appointed, comfy beds and en suites.
Food is plentiful and served to a high standard by staff.
The residents can also go into a lovely
peaceful garden, with plenty of seating to enjoy the nice summer weather.
There is also daily entertainment, done by a lovely lady, who is loved by all the residents.
Nicky, you have got a fabulous team who make the Care Home what it is today. Thank you

My Mother and Father in law came to Eighton Lodge in August 2025 following a period of respite in July . From the very first day the staff have been fantastic with them both, making them feel at home and welcome. This place is more like a family home than care facility. The staff are all so kind and
caring and genuinely care for all of the residents and families. My father in law sadly passed away 3 weeks ago and the care and compassion shown to him and my mother in law and been outstanding . He was cared for with kindness and dignity and the continued support they are providing to my mother in law makes a difficult time easier knowing she is surrounded by such a caring, dedicated team.

My grandparents have been living at Eighton Lodge for a few months now, and the care they've both received has been incredible. Sadly, my grandpa passed away recently, but he did so under the most compassionate and attentive care we could have hoped for. Every single member of staff went above and beyond
to make sure he was comfortable and treated with dignity, and the support they've shown my grandma during this difficult time has been outstanding.

She absolutely loves living there and truly feels it's her home. The staff are always kind, friendly, and welcoming - they greet us with a smile, offer drinks, and show such genuine care not just for the residents but also for family members who visit. It's so lovely to see the residents taken out on trips and doing activities, and they even took my grandma to get her nails done to cheer her up. We honestly can't thank them enough for everything they do.

I can't express enough gratitude to the staff for the way they look after my mother and the other residents.
I can't really find any fault at all.
The only thing I would say is that every room should have a shower and toilet.
