Both my dear mum and stepfather were residents. I live abroad and don't have siblings so it was so important for me to have communication with the home and them. The staff went above and beyond to provide this. I can't emphasise enough the most wonderful care they received. Mum had Parkinsons and was
bedridden but she was so well cared for and loved it melted my heart. If and when I ever need care this is where I would want to be.

My Dad went for a month's respite into this beautiful care home.
You are greeted at the door with a lovely smile from a caring member of staff.
The rooms are well appointed, comfy beds and en suites.
Food is plentiful and served to a high standard by staff.
The residents can also go into a lovely
peaceful garden, with plenty of seating to enjoy the nice summer weather.
There is also daily entertainment, done by a lovely lady, who is loved by all the residents.
Nicky, you have got a fabulous team who make the Care Home what it is today. Thank you

My Mother and Father in law came to Eighton Lodge in August 2025 following a period of respite in July . From the very first day the staff have been fantastic with them both, making them feel at home and welcome. This place is more like a family home than care facility. The staff are all so kind and
caring and genuinely care for all of the residents and families. My father in law sadly passed away 3 weeks ago and the care and compassion shown to him and my mother in law and been outstanding . He was cared for with kindness and dignity and the continued support they are providing to my mother in law makes a difficult time easier knowing she is surrounded by such a caring, dedicated team.

My grandparents have been living at Eighton Lodge for a few months now, and the care they've both received has been incredible. Sadly, my grandpa passed away recently, but he did so under the most compassionate and attentive care we could have hoped for. Every single member of staff went above and beyond
to make sure he was comfortable and treated with dignity, and the support they've shown my grandma during this difficult time has been outstanding.

She absolutely loves living there and truly feels it's her home. The staff are always kind, friendly, and welcoming - they greet us with a smile, offer drinks, and show such genuine care not just for the residents but also for family members who visit. It's so lovely to see the residents taken out on trips and doing activities, and they even took my grandma to get her nails done to cheer her up. We honestly can't thank them enough for everything they do.

My parents were in Eighton Lodge for a 6 week respite in July and August and then returned in late August for an assessment period.
I have been extremely impressed with this care home overall. The rooms are lovely and always clean. The facilities are modern and ideal for purpose and the food is of high
quality. However I have been mostly impressed with the staff. They are very compassionate, polite, always helpful and have taken great care of my parents up until my father's recent passing.
They take a very common sense approach to care, prioritising accordingly and are wonderful with the residents. The end of life care for my father was a great comfort.
I was surprised recently when even the management and admin staff were helping with routine jobs.
My mother and father both loved the staff and my mother is very happy to remain at Eighton Lodge. I would definitely highly recommend this care home to others.

St George's Residential Home

from D H (Son of Resident) published on 29 October 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been in the home, now, for two years. After two previous homes not suiting my mother's needs, we've found the perfect place. My mother lives her room, which is like a small self-contained flat. The size of the home is also ideal, housing around 40 residents.

The staff are always attentive

and very caring. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, and they're always striving to ensure mam is happy, and her welfare needs are met. From top to bottom, staff do their utmost, in what is a difficult and challenging role. I like to thank those staff for their kindness and continuing support to the family and mam. Their efforts are appreciated by all the family, after a difficult few years before mam went into a the home.

I hope these few words are enough thanks,. And keep up the good work.

My mum has been resident in Whorlton Grange Care home for three months now and it has not been an easy time for her or the family. However this transition has been greatly assisted by the excellent support we have all had from the Whorlton Grange Team. They have quickly gained an understanding of Mum's
care needs, likes and dislikes and do their best to make her feel comfortable and settled. This has even included taking her as an individual on a day out to a venue at her request. The home itself is clean, bright cheerful and warm, always buzzing with activity and something going on, set on beautiful grounds too. Thank you Whorlton Grange for continuing to support mum and the rest of us, we know she is in the best place for her.

St George's Residential Home

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Rob had 2 periods of respite here prior to an assessment period, then permanent care. His physical needs are largely well met, and he is arpported in personal care and eating. He enjoys activities when they are available.
His room is functional, airy, light and clean. Staff, including managers, are
this home's biggest asset.

Rosevale

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
93 year old mother had a brief respite care stay after a spell in hospital. She was confused and frail. Rosevale care team immediately helped mum to settle in, made her feel welcome and reassured her. Even though this was a short stay mum received first class care delivered to meet her personal needs.
The Rosevale team provided helpful and knowledgeable advice and support to me in arranging the stay and during mums time there. We would use Rosevale again if the need arises.

Nightingale Hall

from C C (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 September 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
After a terrible Crisis admission into a facility in Darlington and a 5 week hospital stay I was very reluctant to place my lovely Dad into a care facility.
Nightingale Hall was recommended to me and it's fair to say from my first appointment for placement I felt reassured that this was a well organised
fantastic home where you feel a member of the NH family.
The manager and staff from the top to the bottom are caring compassionate and very kind.
The care my Dad receives is first class and is very dignified even though at times he can be difficult.
The accommodation is beautiful well kept and very clean.
The dinning room is bright and airy and provides lovely food and another nice touch they have bags of crisps etc in the lounge that the residents can help themselves.
I will be forever grateful to the amazing NH staff.

The care given to my wife during 2 1/2 years at Garden House, including end of life care, has been outstanding. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to others.
