I have been impressed by the care that Mam has received in Glenholme house. The staff have been very helpful including updating and acting on her care plan to get her downstairs more. The costs while expensive in absolute terms are in line with those of other homes in the region of a similar standard.

I have been blown away by the care shown to my Dad since he moved into Glenholme, in Nov 2025. From the very first meeting, the team showed a holistic approach to his care, including supporting all of us through the transition. The team have turned what was a gut wrenching decision to have to make,
into a positive and seamless experience. Every aspect of my Dad's care gets excellent attention, from ensuring he's dressed smartly to dealing with serious medical emergencies. They've also taken the time to get to know him as an individual - from what he likes to eat ( he loves the food!) , to engaging him in SAFC banter. The team also look after my Mam when she visits - providing practical and emotional support. The atmosphere in the home is welcoming, with lots of chat and laughter, and has the feeling of a home, not an institution. This makes all the difference. Knowing he is in such a supportive and warm environment brings real peace of mind. Forever thankful.

I cant praise Glenhome enough. They have been so caring with my mum. I have no worries her staying there. They phone me to let me know if anything wrong. They got her straight to hospital when she took a bad turn. They do so many nice activities with the residence. The place is always super clean .

I cannot fault this care home. The staff are amazing, so kind and supportive, professional and competent.

They not only give my sister the best care possible but support me so much, they probably don't even realise.

Home rooms are lovely, food amazing and entertainment/activities really relevant

and fun!

My Dad went into Glenholme House following a spell in hospital which meant he was unable to return home. The manager went well beyond what was required to help me to navigate the care system which is lacking in general advice and proves to be very stressful. I would like to thank her for her time, patience
and respect. My Dad has never given anything but praise for every member of staff and is very complimentary about the food. As a family, we have been so impressed with Glenholme House that we have taken the decision for our Mam to move in so that they can be together. Again, I have had nothing but patience, help and advice to whoever I have spoken to.
I have been kept up to date with any developments affecting my Dad and I am more than happy that procedures are followed.
Thank you all for the care, respect and dignity given to my Dad, it means so much.

My dad had resided at Glenholme for over a year now and we have found the staff and the care he receives excellent. They all go above and beyond to support him to be clean, engaged with and mostly; happy. My dad has recently had a decline with his health and the MDT meetings and reviews have been
invaluable. There has been a consistent coordinated approach to provide the best health care plan to meet his needs and incorporate his and our wishes and feeling with regards to ongoing care. We as a family feel fully supported to make decisions for him to be looked after. We are very grateful for the staff treating dad with dignity and like their own. Thank you xx

My dad has been in Glenholme since Jan 2025. He has had great service beyond what I expected from a care home. Taken out on trips in the homes bus, assistance and transport to my daughters wedding. Instant assistance after having falls, a cheery, friendly family atmosphere.

The staff at Glenholme look after our mother wonderfully. Everyone knows her and what her needs are, they do everything they can to ensure Mam leads a happy and healthy life.
Staff contact us regularly with updates on Mam's wellbeing and any changes to her medication and care needs.
Glenholme is spotlessly
clean and Mam is always in freshly laundered, coordinating clothes.
Visiting Glenholme is a pleasure, the staff are cheerful and welcoming and there are activities for residents every morning and afternoon.
The care and dedication of the Glenholme staff is clear, they treat every resident as an individual and we feel lucky that our mother is in their safe hands.

We had to place my dad into care only 2 weeks ago, and Glenholme was by far the best choice we could have made. Two weeks isn't a long time, but this review is absolutely well deserved, and probably would just become more glowing as time went on! All of the staff are so friendly - nothing is a bother
to them and they're always happy to answer any questions or put our minds at ease, even when we think we're being pests! It is obvious just how much they care about all of their residents, you can tell nothing is forced or fake - they are genuine, lovely people.
He's settled in so well and is clearly happy there. The activities are amazing - so varied and enjoyable, and we love seeing pictures of him on their social media page.
The home itself is bright, spacious and clean, there's nothing that we can fault.
Every time I go to visit I'm reminded of how fortunate we were to have been able to have Dad live there. Thank you all for taking such good care of my precious dad.

My mother has a good quality of life at Glenholme, and I am always impressed by the number of activities there are at the home. The staff are really friendly when I visit or see Mum weekly by video call. It is great that I can speak to her weekly and she obviously gets on well with the staff who help
her video call. She has been there a long time and they talk like old friends. I live some distance away so the ability to talk by video call is really important to us.

The staff at this care home are just amazing, mam has just had a wonderful Christmas despite being very poorly, her presents from the staff were just hand-picked for her and exactly what she would have worn.
Each and every member of staff from the manager to the domestic staff and admin are all so
caring and person-centred. Not only is mam looked after they are looking after us too in such an extremely difficult time. Thank you so much Glenholme staff who we now class as family. God bless and never change the care and attention you give to every resident who is in your care.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.674)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.674) out of 10 for Glenholme House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.749 for Glenholme House is calculated as follows: ( (161 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 203 Ratings = 4.749
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Glenholme House is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
