All staff have been really welcoming, helpful and supportive. Dad previously attended Glenholme for daytime activity before COVID and loved his time with staff and residents. In March of this year, Dad become a resident at a particularly difficult time for our family. Within forty-eight hours we saw
a difference in Dad's appearance, personal hygiene, demeanour and this was purely down to the care, attention, stimulation, nutrition, hydration, support and a sense of belonging and being safe. In six months, Dad is so very happy. He loves all the activities and staff and only this week told me 'I have a lovely life'. Glenholme is a brilliant example of what good care can achieve.
Reply from Bryony Dale, Marketing and Activities Manager at Glenholme HouseThank you so much for your wonderful review! We truly appreciate your kind words and are so happy your dad feels comfortable, safe and happy with the care he receives at Glenholme House. We will pass on your message to the rest of the team, they will be touched by your kind feedback.

Many thanks for their hard work - they deserve a pay rise!
The staff are kind, patient and empathetic to her needs, which are many.

Our Mam has been a resident at Glenholme for just over 2 years and as a family, we feel that she is settled and safe. The staff situation appears more stable with a calm friendly atmosphere. There are lots of opportunities for socialising. Mam's room is always clean and tidy.
The only criticism I
would have would be in ensuring Mam is always in clean clothing and has help each day in choosing nice outfits.

It is a very difficult time seeing the parent you love slowly slipping away both physically and mentally. So it is a great comfort to know she is somewhere, like Glenholme, with a safe and caring environment to support her needs. Whenever I have a question I find the staff very approachable and kind
in their responses to set my mind at ease.

I am very pleased with the care that Mum receives at Glenholme. I do not live locally but I have peace of mind knowing she is settled and well looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend Glenholme to anyone looking for a nursing home for a relative.

My mum has been with Glenholme House Care Home for just coming up to a year. After being so independent, I was worried she would not settle but she is so happy and content living there. All of the staff are excellent, caring and professional, I can’t thank them enough for the care they provide. The
home is always clean, well-run and secure for residents.
The home provides a huge variety of day activities, tailored for everyone and creates a great social environment.
Individual care is also evident and when my mum needs extra support it’s there for her. I now have peace of mind my mum is safe, happy and well looked after.

Highly recommend this care home.
We moved Dad here after a bad experience at another care home and the difference was amazing.
The staff are brilliant, from the carers to the cleaning girls to the chefs and the wonderful activities they provide.
Dad sadly passed away, we requested that he spent his
final hours here instead of in a cold clinical hospital and we were so grateful for the care and love we received as a family at this sad time.
Thank you, Glenholme House.

My mum had a short stay at Glenholme House. Fabulous staff and home; she was so well cared for. I couldn’t recommend this care home enough. The daily entertainment schedule would rival any holiday camp, and my mum said the food and choice were beautiful. The amazing care my mum received got her back
on her feet in no time. Immaculate, well-presented surroundings, with a lovely garden and a great location.

The team at Glenholme work extremely hard to provide a safe and caring environment for all their residents.
As a family we have been welcomed and supported when visiting our Mum.
There are many activities organised for the residents and relatives are well informed about everything that is going on.
It has been an extremely difficult time having our mum in a care home, but we know she is safe and well cared for.
The staff are very responsive to both Mum’s needs and any information we ask for.

This is an immaculate home. The care Mam receives is second to none and we can't thank the staff enough. The staff are amazing. Mam is settled and happy. Activities are always readily available. The care not only applies to Mam, but they are also fantastic with the family too and nothing is of bother
to them. We are always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Thank you, Glenholme House. You should be proud of yourselves, each and every one of you.

My mam was only with you for a short time, as she was poorly and sadly passed away, but we can't thank you enough for the care she was given while she was with you. The kindness was also extended to the rest of our family, as well; your staff are so thoughtful - you should all be proud of yourselves.
As a family, we can only thank you from the bottom of our hearts, as you made what was a heartbreaking time for us more bearable. God Bless.

Mam moved to Glenholme House in December 2020 and though the circumstances enforced by Covid made visiting difficult, the family was still involved in all decisions, however minor, involving Mam's care. She settled immediately, not least due to receiving the best of care from cheerful, motivated and
friendly staff who continue to go the extra mile to make her comfortable and safe.

My mam is very well looked after, nothing is too much trouble for the amazing staff at Glenholme, always kept updated as to Mam's welfare, mam is very happy there, always laughing, singing and dancing.
There is always something happening - a good variety of activities that are updated on Facebook which
keeps me updated when I am unable to visit.
Would definitely recommend.

My aunt arrived at Glenhome House in December 2021. Her state of health was poor and it was important she moved to a safe and secure place where she was genuinely cared for. You never really know until someone has been there for a while so nearly one year down the line, I can safely say her quality
of life has improved immensely. She is well looked after by staff who really do care about her and spend time even though they have busy roles - they know part of their job is to give attention and share a story or joke. The management team do a great job and try hard to keep on top of my aunt's many ailments and medications. Sometimes they could provide more timely updates as I can get these from my aunt first and these can sound more dramatic than needed! The fees are expensive but I know running costs are high. That said, I always feel the care and attention she receives are genuine and heartfelt which is so important as I live a fair distance away. Keep up the good work team!

I have found the home amazing. My dad is occupied and has made lots of new friends. My dad sleeps all night. The activities are amazing, they are shared on Facebook, which is extra amazing, so we can share with family. My dad always appears clean, well dressed and calm. My only concern is the disappearance
of his new 2021 watch. I have had no official feedback from this loss. I also do not agree with Dad's continence assessment and would like to speak to someone.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.674)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.674) out of 10 for Glenholme House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.749 for Glenholme House is calculated as follows: ( (161 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 203 Ratings = 4.749
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Glenholme House is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
