When my mum needed respite care a friend recommended Nightingale Hall. Our experience then is why we chose it for residential care. The building is lovely, it doesn't look or feel at all 'institutional'. There are lots of staff around and while they do sometimes all get busy at once - like mealtimes - there has always been someone to help or to answer questions. Security is discreet but effective, I have no concerns about mum wandering off which she had started to do at home. I haven't tried the food but from the meals I have seen being delivered to rooms, it looks good, mum has no complaints and she is pretty fussy. There is activity of some sort every day, from small things like board games and bingo, to musical entertainment and trips out. Mum was getting lonely at home so the social engagement has been good for her. She is there because she has dementia and while it's not what any of us really wanted, I'm glad we found Nightingale. If it was me, it's where I would choose to go.

My partner, who has Alzheimer's, required immediate accommodation and care when I was suddenly taken into hospital. Nightingale Hall stepped into the breach and took Laura in and provided the care she needed. It was a relief and a kind of comfort to me knowing she was in a safe place and well cared for while I was having treatment in hospital.

So far so good, so much so that we've taken to calling it 'home from home'.

We are kept informed of dad's falls, or how he is doing with meds on most occasions . He is bed bound and just sleeps while we visit. He's can be difficult with staff sometimes and they manage him well. Staff are friendly.

This form is not big enough to put down how very grateful I am for how Eddie is being cared for from Lynn, who happily greets you at reception to every single person at St Catherine's who works so hard to make sure everyone not only fully cared for but loved as well. After caring for Eddie myself for 2 years I did not look any furhter than St Catherine's as my mother had been in another Wellburn care home for 5 years and was happy and loved. Even if the staff are all busy with other residents they always remember and come back to you. I now visit my husband Eddie then go home feeling he is in good hands.

Don't know. Problems with space in lounge. Too many wheelchairs in a small space.

When you have no complaints there isn't a lot to say, the whole team are good, they keep my wife as happy as possible, and they care! The management team make me happy I feel like family.

My mother has been with you nearly 2 years and she was very happy. Staff were fantastic with her. Her last couple of days we could not faulter the staff very attentive and caring. Not just with my mother but with us all as a family. Thank you to everyone at Nightingale have for everything you have done it is much appreciated.

Soon after settling dad into Nightingale Hall he had a medical issue. unfortunately I was unable to get there but staff were amazing at keeping him safe and me informed at every step of the way in what was a stressful situation. One of the staff even stayed 4 1/2 hours after her shift ended to ensure continuity of care and support for dad and us. Sadly he had to go into hospital but staff again were supportive of myself, mum and dad both during the incident and afterwards as a local paramedic I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.

Nothing is any trouble to any of them and they are all most helpful in ever possible way. I cannot thank them enough for all their work and care towards everyone.

Mum went into care after a stay in hospital a year ago. It's not something she would have wanted, but from arriving the staff have been amazing with her. On the whole the home is kept very clean and the food is plentiful. When we visit we are always offered a drink & biscuits and encouraged to participate in any activities/entertainment that's going on. What I do find very helpful is the fact we are always updated about everything ongoing with mum & illness if it occurs in the home. Very impressed with the whole package from the carers, entertainment and management.

I am very happy with the superb care Avril receives. She always looks well dressed and clean. Her room and ensuite bathroom are always tidy and clean too. The variety of activities are first class, as is the variety of food. The staff- every one- are always helpful to me with any queries and concerns, they are also smartly attired to carry out their duties.

My uncle has now been a resident at Nightingale Hall Care Home for almost three months. Initially, he intended to transition to a supported living arrangement, but his experience at Nightingale has led him to change his mind and embrace a long-term stay. The care he has received is nothing short of fantastic, and he often expresses his gratitude for the genuine kindness and respect shown by the staff. My uncle thrives on company, and he is never short of it here. Despite the staff's busy schedules, they always make a point to stop by his room for a friendly chat or to simply check in on him. This personal touch has made a significant difference in his daily life. The staff have worked diligently to integrate him with other residents, encouraging him to join them for meals in the dining room which he now does happily. Their attentiveness and professionalism shine through, as they ensure that every resident feels safe, comfortable, and valued.

Mum is very happy at Rosevale. She has been a resident for 3 years and has always enjoyed the care and attention given her. There are plenty of activities and things to do. As mum has progressed on her dementia journey the staff have supported mum with dignity and care. Rosevale has a lovely atmosphere. It is always clean and well cared for by dedicated staff.

My experience of Nightingale Care Home is entirely positive. My father was extremely well looked after both from the point of view of his health but also his personal well being. The team were thoughtful, attentive and supportive, not only to my dad but also to me at what was a stressful time. All of the arrangements from initial viewing to nurses/ GP appointments etc were handled promptly and clearly. The team went out of their way to keep me informed of every aspect of dad's stay at the care home and I really can't rate them highly enough - they had unlimited patience and nothing was too much trouble for them. The thing I was most happy about was that they treated Dad as an individual and went out of their way to find out about his life so that they could chat to him about things that were important to him - he really couldn't have been happier and this was a man who was extremely independent and intent on staying so. Finally it may be a small thing but the food was fantastic!
