Hadrian House in Gateshead is a warm and welcoming care home. The skilled team provides short-term and permanent residential care, as well as care for people living with dementia.

an agreed hourly charge for this service.

An excellent care home. All the staff care deeply about the residents and strive to make them happy.
My mum is safe and well cared for. The communal lounges are friendly and comfortable. The cooking smells from the kitchen smell delicious and my mum likes the food.

My aunt has always been looked after so well at Hadrian House. The staff are so hardworking and caring, not to mention patient! Hadrian House itself is immaculately clean, my aunt was encouraged to bring some of her own possessions when she moved in which means her room is very pleasant. We would recommend

Hadrian House is a lovely environment with very caring staff.
The manager and staff were extremely supportive in accommodating my 97 year old grandad, and it’s lovely to see him happy and well cared for.

Due to restrictions cannot fully comment on facilities, activities, food etc. Staff are very friendly and seem to care about the residents but as my mother went into care in lockdown I cannot comment on everything as limited access.

I live in Sussex, so visiting Mum is difficult. We have daily phone contact, and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. They recognise my voice and always exchange pleasantries before passing me over to Mum.
On the occasions we have managed to visit, they have been friendly and welcoming. Even
staff on their break outside the house say hello and ask if we are ok. Mum's room has always been clean, tidy and her personal belongings clean and well cared for. The Covid protocols have always been evident.
Mum is always treated with respect and encouraged to take part in activities. They cope well with her dementia. As far as we've seen, this applies to other residents too.

I always have a very good experience when visiting my mother in Hadrian House, Blaydon. The staff are always very nice, friendly and always are very respectful of my mam. I also had an elderly aunt who was a resident in this care home for many years until she sadly passed away therefore when my mam
needed 24 hours care me and the family did not hesitate choosing for my mam going into this care home. I also know that a lot of the staff have been there many years which tell a story in itself.

My Mother has been a resident for almost 11 months and the improvement in her health both physically and mentally is wonderful to see.
She struggled greatly during the lockdown living alone and not able to go out and attend a local day centre while suffering from dementia.
The staff have welcomed
her and our family during a very difficult time especially when we were unable to visit, talking to her regularly on the phone.
It's a great relief to us knowing she is safe and well.

The staff and manager at Hadrian are excellent. My mother is quite demanding and I worry she may be putting onto the girls, but they all assure me that she is no bother to them. When walking into Hadrian it always smells nice. I am happy that there are activities and days out for the residents as I

I continue to come here every two weeks to visit and see residents and staff.

Mum came to Hadrian House last year, July 7th. She was keen to be here. For the next 7-10 days, she was a bit worried - kept asking "why are we here?". Then, almost immediately, Mum had settled down. The carers and staff are just wonderful. They smile and talk to the people. The rooms are very clean.
Lots of people love the food, with sensible portions. People are being looked after with care, fun and support. Shower and bath are very suitable. Carers and people have good times of laughing. Hadrian House seems to be very well managed.

My uncle has been in Hadrian House for 6 months and during that time has received excellent care. The home is very well run and a credit to all who work there.
Caring staff who have at times a difficult job always seem to find time for individual residents needs and I have seen many acts of kindness
over the months.
It is a safe and caring environment for my uncle and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone in a similar position.

I joined Care UK in 2014 as I knew it was a great company to work for. It was rapidly becoming the number one care provider in the UK (which it’s subsequently achieved) and I wanted to be on board!


I’m an experienced home manager and have also worked as an operational manager in a housing association. I think to be a success in this role you need to be a combination of things: kind and caring, as well as organised, driven and innovative.


I love working at Hadrian House. We have a wonderful team here, who I’m hugely proud of, and I enjoy all day every day. We’re working hard to achieve our goals, and evidencing the great care we provide, so we’re ready to match – or hopefully enhance – our rating at our next CQC inspection.
