In reality some of these deserve 5 plus, given the attention of detail by all members of staff to their various operational functions in looking after the residents in their care,
Great decor, and as clean as a whistle quite outstanding,
I could not wish to have my dear Wife in any better location than this, it is superb from top to bottom,
When my time ever comes for residential care this is where I want to be, this would be my advice to anyone being in that position in their life, simply nothing better.

My grandad has been a resident for 3 years now and what can I say he loves the place! All the staff go up and beyond for all the residents and making fun activities for them to do. Every day they is something planned of its ice creams in the garden on a nice day to art and crafts morning, quizzes and singers coming in to have a dance along. I would highly recommend I couldn't be happier with his care and couldn't tank the staff enough.

After several hospital stays Mum was discharged but her parkinsons and dementia meant it was no longer safe for her to be at home by herself. The hospital social worker was at pains to find mum somewhere "a bit nicer" and so Mum landed at Collingwood Court, initially for respite and recovery. This has subsequently become a long term placement due largely to the patience, respect and kindness exhibited by the staff. There is always something going on and Mum has gone from being isolated to being surrounded by people. She can and more and more frequently does join in whether its with exercise in the garden, musical performances, arts and crafts or trips out in the minibus. Every time I visit I hear about the latest event thats been organised, or the lovely lunch shes had! Nobody wants to put their loved ones into care but it helps every time I visit I walk into a clean, safe, relaxed and happy atmosphere (and to my mothers delight her beloved dog can visit too)

In 2022 I brought both mam and dad to Collingwood court they went out their way to get rooms next to eachother which was amazing as they'd been married 60 years. They have both made so many friend with other residents and staff. We sadly lost mam last year due to cancer during mam's final days the Management arrange a room and meals for 10 days allowing both me and my daughter to spend as much time with mam as possible. Due to dad having dementia we discussed with management and staff how we could help dad without causing anxiety to dad, they have all gone beyond our hopes of making dad happy and comfortable without mam, he loves to dance, goes to the barbers, day trips, they even arranged for his friends from the Life Brigade to come for lunch they all turned up in full uniform absolutely amazing thank you all for the amazing life your giving dad xx
Staff are very caring and supportive towards the residents and go out of their way to make mam's stay at home as happy and fulfilled as possible. Staff even take mam to communion every month. Collingwood Court arrange lunches for families to attend for mothers day, Easter etc and they put on an afternoon tea for mam's birthday when the family came in to see her.
Collingwood care home is a special place, the staff are so friendly and helpful and go out of there way to accommodate the residents. They have days out and in-house entertainment on most days to keep residents active and engaged. The meals provided for special occasions is a really nice touch to get the families together. Really appreciate the easy transition and support to keep my mother safe and happy. Thank you x

My mother in law has been in Collingwood Court for nearly 2 years now at first she was not keen on being in a care home but she has made new friends and seems a lot more at peace within herself. She now does activities and goes on days out with Joanne and all the staff I've met seem very nice. My dad has been a resident since October 2024. We could no longer manage to keep him safe in his own home. While it was a difficult time having to leave his house, all the staff at Collingwood Court made it as easy as possible for us all with their friendliness, care and professionalism. The staff are fantastic and the activities for the residents are amazing. My dad has an activity everyday if he wants to be involved. He has thrived making some new friends with other residents and staff. The staff go the extra mile. Two staff members in particular are fantastic they put everything into making residents happy and stimulated with a wide range of activities. Another staff member is very helpful in the office and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are amazing they way they look after the residents including 4 in particular. My dad has all his needs taken care of, our family are made welcome to visit, the home is immaculate, dad gets lovely meals and he is smiling again. Thank you Collingwood Team.

Meet the Team (1)

I chose to work for Care UK because of its strong reputation for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and its commitment to continually improving standards across its homes.
To do my role well, I believe it’s vital to balance compassion with strong leadership and resilience. Organisation, adaptability, communication and emotional intelligence are all key to managing a busy home and supporting residents and colleagues.
I hold NVQ Levels 2 and 3, my FDM, and I’m currently completing my Level 5 and FHM qualifications. I’ve worked my way up from an agency carer to Home Manager in just five years which is something I’m incredibly proud of. Before taking on my current role, I worked as a Deputy Manager.
One of my favourite parts of the day is chatting with residents and hearing their wonderful life stories. There’s so much we can learn from the older generation. I feel proud every day to see the positive difference our care makes and to watch my team grow in confidence and skill.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends.
