I consider my brother and me very lucky to have found Parkville Care Centre. The staff and management without exception have shown exceptional care and kindness to both of us, and we did have experience with another care home to provide a comparison. Thank you.

I cannot commend the home enough from the very first day my Mam arrived to the last day. The care given has been excellent towards Mam's requirements and also towards the family. There was never ever anytime the care was never there, from minor issues to palliative care. I cannot commend the carers
enough.
Reply from Margaret Roe, Senior Operations Manager at Parkville Care CentreThank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. I am pleased to hear that our team was able to provide a positive experience for your mam and the family.

Our Mam was only in the care home for 6 months but while she was there she was happy and enjoyed the company of the other residents and was encouraged to join in with the entertainment. The care from all the staff was very good and nothing was too much trouble for them.

An elderly friend was in this care home, and I can't praise it enough. The lovely manager and all her staff were amazing and showed my friend the greatest amount of dignity, respect and care that anyone could have asked for. All the staff are a credit to the manager, and all I can say on behalf of myself
and my wife is a massive 'Thank You' for everything you did for him.

I find Parkville Care Centre to be very welcoming. The staff are absolutely brilliant. I have yet to see one member of staff uncaring. They always are willing to help anyone in any way. It is also a happy place to be. One can enjoy activities with the staff and the other residents and I feel safe which
means a lot, also knowing I can go to any of the staff at any time if I need anything.

My uncle’s experience of Parkville was very poor. The restrictions of this review site do not allow me to go into detail however I would encourage people to research the home thoroughly, including CQC reports, before deciding if this home is the right one for their vulnerable relatives.
Reply from Paul Smith, Admin Manager at Parkville Care CentreThank you. All reviews allow us to improve our services. In the spirit of openness and fairness, we have published this submitted review. it is highly unreflective of other views expressed however where our service does not meet expectation it is our intention to always say sorry and to do better next time. I was recommended for my husband to go to Parkville Care Centre for his respite, hopefully leading up to full time. Up to this moment in time, I would not like him to go anywhere else.
In the past, we have tried a few places and not any of them comes close to the detail of what this home does. Look
after your staff and you will have a happy place for people to come to.

My experience of this care home. Firstly, everyone in the care home treats you with courtesy and there is often fun and laughter throughout. You can talk to staff in confidence, knowing what you say will not be open to all and sundry. The home is very clean and the laundry is washed and ironed. Meals
are wholesome and there is plenty of choice. Management are easy to get on with and approachable at all times. I would recommend the home to anyone.

Having visited a number of dementia nursing establishments in the area, it was with a feeling of great relief when we found Parkville Care Centre.
Everything about the centre is five star from the individually designed bedrooms and colour coordination to the level of care exercised by qualified nursing
and care staff.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the centre for your loved one from my experience.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.973)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.973) out of 10 for Parkville Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.535 for Parkville Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (91 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 142 Ratings = 4.535
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.438 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Parkville Care Centre is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 94 registered maximum number of service users is 18.8. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.8 = 0.638
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
