I have only praise for the staff at The Beeches Care Home. My mother is well cared for and treated with compassion and dignity. I am kept well informed about all that is happening and have a good relationship with both management and staff. Mum has been a resident for more than 2 years now and is settled
and happy which is a great relief for the family.

A lack of hygiene, no container in the ensuite facility to place used incontinence pads. Always a smell of urine in the room and corridors. Tablets given by bare hands, no container used. Meals brought to the room along a corridor, not covered and barely warm. This was hard to manage sitting in a chair
with no tray to rest her plate. Had to ask for the room to be cleaned.

My mum is currently a resident in The Beeches care home. My dad was also a resident two years ago. The home is a very friendly home.
All the staff are caring and nothing is ever too much for them. They care for and love my mam dearly. She is happy and content which helps to get us through this horrible
disease.

My mam joined The Beeches Care Home in June 2015. After a shaky start, she settled well and it became home.

Due to the nature of mam's illness, I found the staff to be helpful, caring and loveable to her. They always had patience and understanding with mam which helped me cope with her agitation.

They always maintained her dignity which was essential to me as she was always a proud lady. Thank you to the EMI team at The Beeches. Eternally grateful.

I have been visiting Beeches Care Home since June 2015 and have always found the care and cleaning staff to be very friendly and professional. The quality and variety of the food is good and the staff always encouraged my mother-in-law to eat, drink and socialise. Due to my mother-in-law's illness,
this was not an easy task.

My father was taken into care in an emergency situation when his primary carer was taken into hospital following a fall that required surgery and a period of recuperation. I had to arrange everything very quickly as my father had both advancing cancer and also on-set dementia, so he as very disorientated
and confused.

From the very first assessment interview, with the Deputy Manager from the Care Home was superb. He was considerate of and caring towards my father and encouraged him to visit the home for a "look around". This re-assured him hugely and made the transition from home to Care Home as seamless and easy as possible.

Once in the Care Home as a resident, the whole experience was massively positive. Whilst sadly, my father passed away in the Beeches in November, his 3 month stay was full of care, attentive support and positivity. I cannot recommend the Beeches in Stockton highly enough.

My Dad was admitted to The Beeches at very short notice when my Mum was hospitalised following a fall. This was a difficult time for my Dad as he suffered from Alzheimer's and was confused by the sudden change in his circumstances. The staff at The Beeches were friendly, caring, patient and thoroughly
professional throughout my Dad's stay. He passed away in November having received brilliant and dignified care from every member of the staff. He commented on the quality of care every time I visited him. I cannot thank the staff enough and would recommend the Beeches to anyone seeking residential care without hesitation.

My husband was taken in to The Beeches Care Home after I had an accident and broke my hip.

He was looked after by caring staff until he died, with kindness and dignity. Every member of staff was excellent, always pleasant and helpful to both me and my husband. I would recommend The Beeches to any

person looking for a care home.

My wife is a resident as a result of a severe stroke where communication is very difficult. The staff and management have been very understanding in recognising her needs and responding accordingly. With regard to modernisation and maintenance of the facilities the management and staff work well in
maintaining and improving standards. Staff training is taken seriously and can be regularly seen around flip charts and various speakers. Hygiene is taken very seriously and odours are quickly dealt with, which means most visitor first impressions are favourable.

Staff really care about the residents welfare and despite some difficult challenges they always have a smile and a word for the residents and their families. Staff treat the residents respectfully and their welfare is always upper most in their minds. So glad I chose The Beeches for my dad.

My step dad had an accident last year which meant he had to be placed in a care residence. The Beeches was recommended by two people. My first view told me this was the care home he needed. Everyone from the manager down through all staff are wonderful and I have passed on recommendations to others
really impressed with the staff who are very friendly. They maybe care workers but the difference is that they really do care about their residents. My step dad was ill recently and they were really "on the ball" and kept me fully informed. I used to worry about him 24/7 but now I am secure in the knowledge he is in a safe environment. Plus he loves the residence and all the staff on his wing. Many thanks 10/10

This is a well presented home. Has a very friendly atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming, extremely helpful and their appearance is well presented. My mother receives excellent care, she is very happy there, she always praises the staff. Mum also says the food is very good. Cannot fault the cleanliness
of the home. I would recommend this home to others as the care given cannot be faulted.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.788)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.788) out of 10 for The Beeches Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.788 for The Beeches Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (228 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 278 Ratings = 4.788
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Beeches Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
