Ingleby Care Home prides itself on the care and attention given to residents and their families. Carers concentrate on getting to know you and your loved one, enabling them to look after physical needs and more importantly delivering what emotional support you and your family need.

They accept that choosing a care home is one of the most difficult decisions a family member or advocate can make and are here to help you through that decision, through the move in and beyond.

Excellent care is the key objective of each of the team members. Caring for those who can no longer look after themselves is what they do best, with an approach that takes into account that although there will be aspects of daily care and activity that residents could not manage at home, carers continue to encourage independence wherever possible - thus enabling residents to make the most of what they can do on a daily basis.

They support an active lifestyle alongside professional care as part of their core mission, they endeavour to ensure that both residents and visitors enjoy their time spent at the home. They have all of the usual benefits of a care home, including en suite rooms, excellent communal spaces and areas for residents to enjoy quiet times.

They also offer excellent activities at the home, which offer stimulation and engagement to all residents. The activities co-ordinator works with individuals to ensure that they offer activities that will suit each person and sometimes this means that one to one activity is more appropriate than group activities.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father came to Ingelby Care Home in May this year. From the outset, he was treated with care and courtesy and got on very well with the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. He passed away in October and the staff were fantastic in their attitude to my dad and my family.
I would like to say
a big thank you to all the staff.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Mum has previously lived independently until an illness following which she has lived with me for the last 10 months. As a consequence, neither of us has had any experience of care homes. Prior to myself going on holiday at the end of Sept, mum stayed for a couple of days to accustomise her prior to
our holiday. We both found a very warm welcome from the staff who made sure mum knew their names and treated mum with respect coupled with an open and friendly attitude. Mum enjoyed her 1st experience and is quite happy to return when we are away on holiday.

I find this care home to be clean, uncluttered and safe. The staff are always caring and compassionate and maintain privacy and dignity. The staff engage at all levels with residents, their colleagues and families alike. The home is void of unwanted smells and the residents are clearly well attended.
The food looks to be of good quality, plentiful and well presented. Drinks are varied and plentiful and always available. Standards appear very high and the staff seem to well-led by the management team.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Grandma has recently been through a traumatic experience after having minor surgery on cancerous grows on her upper chest. The NHS have let her down badly with the after care provided in the hours after her operation. When a haematoma developed under the wound, the staff at the home were brilliant
in their care of her until we could get her back to hospital. Unfortunately the NHS managed to let her down again five days later, by removing her stitches too early causing the wound to open up again. Once again the staff were fantastic and were quick to jump to her aid. The whole experience could have been a lot more stressful for her if it hadn't been for the very efficient work carried out by the staff.
I have to say that this didn't come as a surprise to us, as this reflects the high standards that you come to take for granted in this fantastic home.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.553)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.553) out of 10 for Ingleby Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.849 for Ingleby Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (91 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.849
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.704 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ingleby Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.2 = 0.804
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
