It's very difficult when faced with a relative's frailty and having to decide on ongoing care. My aunt was in Park House for just over a year. She settled there immediately and was very happy. The staff ratio was very good and they were all kind, considerate and empathetic. My aunt could not praise
them highly enough. There were regular, entertaining, social activities, outings and treats. I visited regularly and found the other residents to be equally happy. The meals were excellent and varied. The home was clean, bright and welcoming – a home from home. I feel very fortunate to have chosen Park House for my aunt’s care in her twilight years and highly recommend it.

My dad has been here for around 4 weeks now and although, as a family, we were very apprehensive about the change from living independently to living in the care home, it has exceeded all expectations. Dad has settled in extremely well and being here has given him a new lease of life.
It feels like
he's living in a caring home not in a faceless institution.

I visit one of the residents each week and am very impressed with Park House. It is a very homely place and the staff are very kind and attentive to the needs of residents. Visitors are made welcome and offered tea or coffee. There are plenty of activities which residents may join in if they wish, thereby
providing mental, social and physical well being. The owner of Park House cares about the residents, as do the staff, and I often see him talking with residents.

This is the very best place we have found for my mother to go for a week's respite care. She is so well looked after, is happy and the staff are absolutely excellent in every way. We have no worries or concerns and she is so settled and she is looking forward to her next respite visit.

My father entered Park House for respite care after undergoing replacement hip surgery. I visited him most days during his 13-day stay. His accommodation was first class, the food was excellent and there was always a choice. The staff are fantastic and always took the time to sit and talk with my dad.
On each occasion I visited, there was always an activity for the residents. I am convinced that the stay in Park House has accelerated my dad's recovery.

I became a resident here after my Neice found this place for me to have 2 weeks respite care but realised how at home I felt I knew I needed help which could increase. The staff and food is everything a person could possibly need is here. Even entertainment is available and lots of encouragement to
help us keep as active as possible - especially the words always given 'nothing is impossible' to our requirements even during the night. Perfection for me.

I cannot praise Park House and the staff enough. I was so worried and upset at the thought of my 92-year-old mum having to go into care but the moment I walked through the door and Park House I immediately felt the wonderful atmosphere. The staff will do anything for my mum (and us). Mum has settled
so well and is so happy. All the residents know me now too. They are always busy with activities. To know my mam is so well cared for is so reassuring. I can't thank the management and staff enough.

I came home from Canada to see my mam settled into a care home. I was very uneasy about this, as it's not what my mam wants. I looked at many, and Park House was the best one that I liked. Mam has been there a month now, and the care she is getting is wonderful, the staff are marvellous. Mam is really
settled and I can now go back home to Canada knowing she is OK and getting the care she needs.

Mother became a resident at Park House in September 2017. I chose it because of the intimate homely atmosphere and seeing the positive interactions between residents and staff. All the staff are friendly, professional and supportive. There is a programme of weekly activities including all residents
which my mother greatly enjoys. I feel my mother has settled in very well. She is well cared for and I feel very fortunate that we were able to find such a comfortable, caring home.

My mum was only at Park house for 6 weeks before she passed away but she immediately felt at home and safe.
We found the staff very friendly and caring they are all extremely professional and well trained. The care and empathy they showed mum was exemplary and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Park
House.
The room was large and clean with all the necessary aids etc.
The home was well run and very efficient.

We visited care homes for my step-mum and were recommended to visit Park House. It stood out clearly as warm, caring and focussed on residents' wellbeing. After being there 4 months, her health is better. She is secure and feels cared for. The home doesn't feel institutional and yet the standard of
care and the environment couldn't be better. She has memory problems and can't remember names but never feels anything but respect and patience form those who look after her. I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else.

This is more than a care home, it's a home from home. You could not find better care anywhere. My uncle was loved and cherished, they made his last months happy. He said if I had known how good it was he would have gone in years ago.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.993)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.993) out of 10 for Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.993 for Park House is calculated as follows: ( (305 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 307 Ratings = 4.993
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 18 registered maximum number of service users is 3.6, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
