Overall Experience

My 86-yr old father spent the final 6 months of his life in Eden Cottage. As an advanced Parkinson's sufferer he needed help with every aspect of life, from getting up out of his chair, to getting dressed, going to bed and with every element of personal care. His movements and speech were very slow and he needed a good deal of attention with ongoing chest infections and management of his medication. The professional, attentive and caring staff dealt with all of these issues with great patience and kindness, and always preserved my dad's dignity. They tended unerringly to his essential needs but took time to make him laugh too. Visitors, including pets, were welcome any time. Cleanliness in the home was a top priority and meals were wholesome and varied. All in all it was a great comfort to me to know that dad was so well looked after and I would have no hesitation recommending the friendly and personal care given by all at Eden Cottage.

The staff at Eden Cottage are superb. My mum stayed for a few weeks and probably protested a bit - she wanted to be at home. The caring attitude of everyone I met there reassured me that she was being looked after with great kindness. Thank you all.

A hidden gem. This is a really lovely home. My father was here for a few months respite while he recovered from a stint in hospital. I can honestly say the all staff here are amazing and couldn't do enough for my dad. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained with a lovely view of the gardens. The food looked amazing also and got great reviews from dad. A lovely experience and he didn't want to leave.

My father-in-law spent a couple of months at Eden Cottage Care Home in respite care whilst a care package was put in place ready for him to return home after a short stay in hospital. He settled in well and was happy to be there during his stay. The staff were lovely, really welcoming and friendly and they always made an effort with my father-in-law. We were impressed with the quality and variety of the meals that were provided as well. We would definitely recommend Eden Cottage. Thank you to all the staff involved with his care!

My mam has been at Eden Cottage Care Home for the past 5 years and has been very happy there. She became ill just before Christmas and we chose to keep her at Eden Cottage instead of sending her to hospital. The care she received was far better than she would have received in hospital. One of the carers, sat with her during the night. Sadly she passed on Christmas Eve but I wouldn't have wished for a better place to be. The home really feels like one big family, all the carers and staff are lovely.

My father has been in Eden Cottage for nearly 18 months. From his arrival, my father has always been well looked after and all of his needs met. The staff are friendly and caring. They always let me know of any issues or needs that my father has and take care of them without any fuss.
The main plus for me is that my father settled into Eden Cottage really quickly and seems very happy there. He likes the staff and enjoys the meals.
I was apprehensive about my father going into care, even though he was no longer able to live independently and it was the best option for him. However, since moving into Eden Cottage, the care that he has received and the friendliness of all of the staff has been a comfort to me.

It's a small home, so I feel that everyone receives a more personal and greater level of care than I would have normally expect.

Review from O L (Grandson of Resident) published on 20 January 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My grandmother is a resident at Eden Cottage with advanced Dementia. They have taken exceptional care of her over the years as her Dementia has progressed and eaten away at her personality, which at times, has brought out difficult traits. They handle her with such care, attention, knowledge and dignity. Something I know she would be personally grateful for. She thoroughly enjoys the activities and excursions the home organise for the residents and it's lovely to know she isn't just sitting in a chair staring at a wall.

On a personal note, the home helped my family navigate the most difficult loss of my mother during COVID (my grandmother's only daughter) and gave me as the now, next of kin, the confidence that she was in the best place for her, being looked after by a team which truly cares and is passionate about what they do. As I live in London and not able to visit as often as I would like, it gives me great comfort to know she is safe and happy at Eden Cottage Care Home.

My son-in-law spent approx 6 weeks in Eden Cottage. The staff were warm and friendly. My relative's care was of the best. He was very happy and contented during his stay despite having to have hospital stays just overnight due to catheter problems. We could visit whenever we wanted to. Would like to stay there myself when it's needed.

Excellent! My dad was a resident at Eden Cottage for several years, from his very first visit to his last days he was made to feel like part of the 'family'. The staff at Eden Cottage are the best you will find anywhere, they always went above and beyond to make sure that my dad received the best care available and was always treated with dignity and respect. This also included looking after my wife and I by making us feel welcome at every visit and also by dialling the phone number so that my dad could stay in touch with us when we were unable to visit and also when he wanted to order his extra bits of shopping.

There really are 'No Words', Eden Cottage is the Home away from Home a place where you know your loved one will be taken care of and treated with the utmost respect and dignity, at the highest level of excellence (Residents always come first). If you need a Care Home, there is nowhere else but Eden Cottage. Thank you all - you truly are Angels.

Our father was a resident at Eden Cottage for almost 3 years. He suffered from dementia but settled quickly when he moved into the home. This was entirely due to the caring and compassionate nature of all the staff. We were kept updated and involved in all aspects of Dad's care attending appropriate reviews whenever required. There is a low turnover of staff so the continuity of care is excellent. Regular social events are organised that take place within the home with family and friends welcome to attend.

Eden Cottage is a fabulous care home and a credit to the owners, managers and all the staff. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this home.

Brilliant care home with a homely feel, made to feel welcome from the first visit. Amazing care team making such a difference to all the residents. Taking time to get to know the family of residents and always there to support and guide. We were originally recommended this care home by a friend and would now highly recommend it to anyone needing a care home setting.

Dad was at Eden Cottage for nine months and we couldn’t fault the care he received there. We initially went for a visit, which was unannounced, and we were welcomed straight away. Dad settled in quickly and the staff would go above and beyond to make sure his needs were met. They also supported the whole family, making sure we were ok and they knew us by name and we were welcomed wherever we visited. We felt Dad was treated as an individual and always treated with dignity and respect. We will always remember Eden Cottage with a smile because they allowed us to have quality time again with Dad and not be his carer when we visited. Thank you all, you are all amazing.
