The Lawns Care Home

Having been in this home for a few months, I have found my stay to be satisfactory and have had no complaints. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to other people.

Home is always clean and warm. Mam's room is always nice and warm. The staff are always willing to answer any questions and are very helpful.

I have been very satisfied with all the care given and the room was always clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to recommend The Lawns. In spite of the shortage of staff, it was managed well.

The home was clean and the staff were very friendly, really good atmosphere. My mam was in a different home but in this one, they have made her feel at home. The food that my mother has is really good and her room is spotless and cleaned daily. She has settled in really well and I am really pleased with her being here.

Having never visited a care home or had a relative in a care home, this was my first experience. I really did not know what to expect, so was delighted to see that the care home was bright and spacious and that my mother-in-law's room was lovely. the staff are amazing, so helpful and caring and supportive when needed. It is a pleasure to visit the Lawns and know that we will always be welcomed. Now we have peace of mind, knowing my mother-in-law is safe and well cared for. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone needing to put a relative into care, which is never an easy decision.

At the beginning of the year, it was obvious that the home was struggling with staffing and Covid issues. More recently, I have seen a marked improvement in the level of care.

My sister has been made welcome in the home. The carers have been kind and helpful. She has been supported during a very difficult time.

Very happy with the care my dad received in The Lawns. Food, facilities and staff excellent. Would recommend to anyone who wants to stay here.

My father was at The Lawns for two years. He was happy and comfortable. The staff gave him the care and companionship he needed. They were all very helpful and gave him the friendship, care and dignity he deserved. The Lawns is light and airy and a comfortable home for residents and visitors.

Mam has been at The Lawns for some years now and during the whole time, I and my brothers have been impressed by the service provided. All the staff are brilliant, being helpful, friendly and caring. We are particularly grateful for their care during the present pandemic, even if that means we are unable to visit, we know Mam is safe and cared for and are able to speak to her on the phone.

Mam has been in The Lawns for approximately three months. Because of Covid related issues, I have only been able to visit four times, but on each occasion, the atmosphere in the home is always bright and welcoming. The staff are always pleasant in spite of the challenges they face daily. Mams room is always clean and fresh, and she is spoken to in a respectful and curious manner, even though I know there are times she can be quite difficult. I feel the family have been lucky in obtaining Mam a place at The Lawns, and am confident they have her best interests at heart.

My grandmother is a resident here and she can be a handful at the best of times and the staff are very accommodating and very understanding. My grandma enjoys been at the home, she’s made friends and just likes the staff, she does have her favourite carers though. Couldn’t ask for better people or a better place for my grandma to be.

Mum was moved to EMI residential care in The Lawns and the entire process was extremely positive. The staff are exceptional, professional, and caring. They have been fantastic with Mum and made the move enjoyable for her. The home has a brilliant atmosphere and the rooms are lovely, the food is great. I really can't praise the home enough. Mum has settled very well and has shown a great improvement on very many levels.

My wife was admitted to the home and is near the end of her life; the staff could not have been more accommodating. They are all a lovely, friendly bunch; she is well looked after. I would highly recommend the home; it always looks clear,n fresh and tidy.

As a family, we have been very happy with the care that my father has been given at The Lawns. We are particularly pleased to see the affection with which he is treated by the staff, and it is clear that he is relaxed and happy. Despite his somewhat challenging behaviour at times, the care staff at the home are patient and kind to him.

My mum has been at this care home for almost a year. We chose it because of the lovely decor and friendliness of the staff. All the staff work well together and are always willing to help, including housekeeping and other departments. Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, we have not been able to visit my mum properly. This has been very difficult for my mum and also us, her family. The Lawns have done the best they can with garden visits in summer and window visits in colder weather. In normal circumstances, my experience would be excellent.

The last year has been very difficult with no visiting allowed, I totally understand, and as my father has advance dementia, for once, it has been easier, as, he doesn't comprehend what is happening. We have seen him in the garden in the summer where the staff were so caring with him giving him biscuits and a cup of tea so he would remain seated for longer. I contact the home every week and get an update on him and how he is doing. They have sent me photos of him, which has been so lovely for us. My mother loved the Christmas care from The Lawns with a photo of my father on the front, such a thoughtful act.

The staff at The Lawns are all very caring. My mother and the residents are well cared for, especially in these terrible times.

We have always found the staff to be very helpful, friendly and professional. We are happy in the knowledge that she is getting taken good care of.
