Garden House

The staff made us very welcome and the rooms were excellent.

All ladies clean and tidy, staff cheery, ladies' needs met immediately by staff. Everyone treated with dignity and respect, activity on the day of my visit was a manicure. Ladies asked what colour of nail varnish or if they wanted nail varnish. Staff conversed with ladies who didn't have visitors. Drinks and biscuits provided when required. Home immaculate and felt very homely and relaxed feeling. I was made very welcome by staff. Ladies all appeared happy and content. Tactile items on hand for those who needed them, others had items/books they wanted. One lady had some help with a word search, she clearly enjoyed this.

The staff are always very approachable and listen if there are any problems we may need to discuss.

His wife showed me his room- spotless, comfortable and welcoming with a lovely outlook. I know that the residents are well cared for and are taken out on several occasions to enjoy the seafront or other events. I see photos of him frequently enjoying activities, ice creams or other goodies. He always has a big beam on his face which is a testament itself to his care here.

Very caring and went above and beyond to keep us informed and up to date with Mum's condition. When Mum passed away, they showed such compassion and kindness which brought us all comfort.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff at Garden House. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They really are the best, whenever I phone my Mam, they always make every effort to ensure I have contact with her.

Nice location near the beach and easy to push mum along the prom. Mum does not like the food and the portions are very small but her room is nice the staff interacts with her. She likes to stay in her room and it would be nice if they could provide one-to-one activities, but like everywhere else, there is a shortage of staff.

My mum has only been in Garden House for a few weeks but the change in her has been fantastic. She is always smiling when we go in and the staff have been brilliant in getting Mum to take part in activities, including a lovely day out at some gardens.

She is always content in her own little world. She is clean and tidy and well presented. She enjoys taking part in the activities. The staff treat her well and attend to all her needs. As a member of family, I’m always met by friendly staff who are always happy to help with any query I may have.

Trips out in the sunshine always a big help.

My mum moved into Garden House just under a year ago, she had fallen and broken her hip and because of dementia was unable to return to her own home. From my very first phone call (covid restrictions meant, no viewing of the room) the manager gave me confidence that mum would be well looked after. How right she was, mum has settled in well and made friends with both residents and staff. Everyone is caring and it's all the little extras that make mum feel part of "one big special family". The team at Garden House has turned a very hard family decision into a very happy outcome. Thank you all.

Since her arrival at Garden House my cousin’s general health has improved due to the care and attention she has received. She has opportunities to take part in the many activities staff work hard to provide. She particularly enjoys the garden and outside trips. It’s reassuring to know that her well-being is a priority for the staff.

We are so pleased we chose Garden House. Nana has settled in really well and the staff really go above and beyond to give the residents the best quality of life. It is obvious that they really care. Nana has always been someone who was reluctant to join in but it's so lovely seeing her taking part in the many activities on offer and looking genuinely happy.

We have experienced the best of care for Aunt, a special lady. Attention to detail in all walls, good communication from all staff at all times. Good atmosphere throughout the home, the staff have shown extreme care, consideration, kindness with a total professional understanding of needs. We cannot thank Garden House enough.

From the moment of entering Garden House, we knew it was right. My father spent four very happy years here. First few years enjoying the many outings and daily entertainment on offer and staff banter. He thrived in the environment, and although we visited, he quickly made friends and new relationships with the staff and residents. Life was good. This last year he became frail, and his needs changed. The staff and managers should be proud of themselves. They work so hard, especially in these exceptional times.

I cannot speak highly enough of the standard of care provided by Wellburn Care Homes and Garden House in particular. The standard of cleanliness is excellent. The facilities and activities are of the highest quality but most importantly they care about the residents.

My mum sadly passed away in July. Mum's care was outstanding in many ways. None more than when she was on palliative care. All staff were so caring and loving towards Mum and her family. It made Mums passing a little more easier to bear. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Garden House to anyone.
