Overall I found the home friendly and like a home from home, my mother is content here, she thinks the staff are very nice. I think the staff are helpful and do their jobs efficiently while stall having a friendly attitude towards visitors. I have no complaints but if I had I'm sure they would address it properly.

The Pines is a small and pretty care home. I love walking up the garden path towards the front door, especially in the summer when the roses and flowers are out. It is a pleasure to see residents sitting in the conservatory also enjoying the garden. They always look well cared for and happy in each other's company. The care staff are highly trained and also very friendly. It is brilliant to see how well they can communicate with the residents including those suffering with the most severe dementia. My relative has received much kindness and consideration there. He says it is his home.

My mother was a resident until she passed away at the beginning of October 2022. I can't praise the home enough. Excellent care, excellent staff with excellent support to family. I highly recommend this home to everyone looking for a home.

The care and support my aunt has received on admission to The Pines, during difficult times, has been outstanding. One to one during isolation ensuring she didn't feel lonely. It's lovely to see her happy and settled, finally! Staff are friendly and competent in what they do.

Thank you for your feedback. At any 'normal' time, we believe that a new person coming into residency at our home can be daunting but as you agree, during this pandemic era we have had to follow guidelines that include quarantine of a new admission. We understand as a new person entering into a...

My wife went into The Pines on 6th October 2020, Covid rules being in place. She was greeted by three staff members, and from that very first day, has been well looked after and included in everything that takes place. The staff could not be better. My wife is safe and happy, which is good for me too. I have been able to window visit three or four times each week. The dedicated staff are the key to all of this. Many thanks.

I have no problems at all with The Pines looking after my mother; she is clean, well-fed, looked after and happy. They keep us informed with a monthly letter, and I visit at the window or a video call.

Overall Experience
My mother lived at The Pines for two years as she progressed through the later stages of dementia. She loved the homeliness of The Pines with washing blowing on the line and the smell of good home cooking. She participated in activities, was encouraged to join in with entertainment. Staff seemed to know and anticipate her needs. They discovered her likes and dislikes, who she wanted to sit next to her. I couldn't praise the staff highly enough.

Eventually, Mam reached the final stages of dementia, where she was bedridden and we lost a little bit more of her each day. Even then staff treated her with respect and preserved her dignity, every task from bed changing to feeding was accompanied by a conversation. Mam was still a person and the staff never once forgot that.

My mother suffered from vascular dementia. We sought a new care home as a previous one did not meet her needs. We settled on The Pines as it felt like a home from home. Washing was hanging on the line and you could smell food being cooked. From the moment Mum entered The Pines she was treated with respect and with great care. We were kept informed every step of the way, nothing was too much trouble. A cup of tea or coffee was always offered. At the end of Mum's life, we were all able to sit with her.

The care offered to my mother at The Pines has been nothing short of outstanding. My mam was treated with respect and dignity during her time there. Staff are paid (far too little in my opinion) for caring for residents but at The Pines, she was also cared about and that made the world of difference to me. In Mam's last days, staff showed great kindness to Mam and her daughters which was much appreciated.

While Mam was alive she appreciated the home cooking and homely atmosphere.

The Pines is excellent. The staff cared for my mother with kindness, respect, compassion and dignity. They never lost sight of her as a human being and a much loved Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma. She was always given choices and every action was explained to her. She was given reassurance. We were always kept up-to-date with information about Mam's care. The home is beautifully clean and the food is good. The staff take pride in their work. We were able to visit anytime and welcomed. As our mam approached the end of her life, the kindness of the staff really helped us. We felt they really cared.
