Wellburn House

Mam moved here in January and settled well. Initially joined in and loved all the activities: as her Alzheimer's progresses she spends more time in her room but still has lovely experiences. Occasional bumps in the road, as you would expect, but overall a positive experience for her and the family. The lovely staff all make her feel valued and loved.

Mum is really happy at Wellburn House - it is a happy and friendly place. The activities are great and well organised. She is very fond of the staff and they always have time for her and the other residents. She calls it home which is a good sign!

I found the staff very friendly and caring they are very patient with the residents and welcoming to families visiting. My husband was there for twenty days of respite.

Polar opposite to a previous experience for my mum in a care home setting. This was the experience we would expect and the care and devotion of your staff were how it should be. We looked at this experience as a home-from-home for Mam suffering from dementia. Please pass on our gratitude to all members of staff.

Mum recently made the difficult decision to leave her home and move into a care home after struggling to manage on her own. She decided on Wellburn House as she'd heard a lot of positive recommendations from people who know the home. The staff at Wellburn House could not have been more helpful. From visiting Mum in her own home prior to her move to discuss her needs, through to helping facilitate her actual move into Wellburn House, they have been professional and compassionate throughout. Mum has settled in very well and is enjoying the choices available to her. She has the privacy of a lovely homely room with all of her things around her but now has the option to eat in the dining room in the company of other residents and is thoroughly enjoying the various activities provided by Wellburn House. Most importantly, the care provided is first class and every effort is made to facilitate Mum's safety and well-being at all times. It's reassuring for both Mum and all of her family to know that she is happy and in such good hands.

On arrival at Wellburn House, I felt at ease. The staff were so welcoming, the accommodation looked so good. There was no concern for my stay here. I feel perfectly at home.

As a granddaughter, we only wanted the best for our grandma. We are super pleased with the love and care Wellburn House show her. She hasn't looked back since leaving her family home, which she was so sad at first about leaving. She has done so much more than she would have done at home - made new friends. My mum lives here and I visit regularly. I think the staff are lovely, they are so patient and kind. The home has a lovely, friendly feel and my mum enjoys the activities that are regularly on for the residents. I feel my mum is safe, happy and well looked after and I never worry about her when I leave. Thank you.

All the staff are very welcoming and friendly. They can be seen reassuring residents who may be worried. The home always appears clean and fresh. The food looks very nice. Snacks and drinks are provided all day if residents require them.

Fantastic care for Mam - a real home from home with amazing staff who genuinely care.

My mum is happy. I know this because she tells me and as a daughter, it's what you hope for. When I visit, I see and hear her interaction with staff and their obvious care and concern for her. I love the fact that she has opportunities to engage in activities and outings that stimulate and encourage her continuing interest in the world. Personally, I find the staff and management approachable, helpful and efficient and always open to communication. Thank you!

Unfortunately, residents have been unable to go out for the past couple of months due to an outbreak. I feel that those residents who are negative should be risk assessed and let out. Communication between myself and the carers and management is good. I believe that Mum's physical needs are being met and the regular activities alleviate the boredom and isolation she feels whilst unable to have outings with family.

The overall standard for Wellburn House is excellent, with the staff being a great asset. I am always kept informed about any changes or problems with Dad and feel he is really being cared for.

When I brought my father to the nursing home for the first time, we got a lovely welcome and he settled in comfortably. There is a lovely warm family feel in the nursing home and the carers have made a huge effort to get to know each individual resident so that they are made to feel cherished and reassuringly cared for. There is a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are organised and work as a team. It's lovely to go into the home to visit my father.
