My mum was admitted in June 2020 after her Alzheimers became unmanageable at home. I'll never forget the day as I had to leave my mum on the doorstep in the care of a member of staff who I'd never met before as couldn't go in due to COVID Restrictions, heartbroken is all I can describe my feelings on this day. The communication we have with Wellburn is fantastic, everyone is lovely and so friendly. We've managed to visit a few times outside or in the new visitor's pod in the garden. We managed to see mum on her birthday where the staff had organised a singer for mum's birthday, we had a lovely afternoon. It was great to see mum interacting with the other residents and saw how much the staff really care for all the residents. Wellburn is a beautiful building and set in gorgeous grounds, hope one day we will be able to go inside and meet everyone in person who are doing a brilliant job not only looking after my mum but all the other residents.

Wellburn is a real home for my Mam, we know she is safe, happy and well cared for by the staff. She interacts well with them in her own somewhat limited way but we know they go out of their way to engage with her often, getting a smile or a laugh or a wag of the finger!

Lockdown has brought many more challenges for the staff and residents but we could not thank everyone enough for what they have done these last months, we've not been able to visit but Skype calls have helped and we know everything they are doing is for the safety of all our families, they are worth their weight in gold!

Mum arrived at Wellburn on 6 March, just prior to the lockdown of the home because of COVID-19. This was a very difficult time for myself, Mum and the staff. However, I feel that she has been well looked after during these difficult times which has been extremely reassuring for the family who are not local. When Mum was taken ill I was kept well informed of the situation and her progress.
Not having been able to see her has been difficult but she seems to have settled in well and continually tells me how lovely the staff all are.
The only criticism I have is with the communication booking set-up during COVID 19. The concept was and is fantastic however the execution has been a little patchy and although I am sure there has been a reason for it, it would have been comforting to know what that reason was.

At the moment I am judging this without really having had the opportunity to visit since Mum first arrived, however, the opinion is based on my brief visits and remote impressions.

We received a friendly welcome from the house manager and her assistant. All the staff looked after us with great care and willing to help us when needed. This is a clean, well run home and we intend to come back again.

Mum is being really well looked after by caring, kind, patient people whose hearts are all in exactly the right places. Challenges Mum has had have been dealt with professionalism and by consulting with outside help (Behaviour Support Team) and with a conscientious desire to do the best for mum and help her accept the support that’s there for her. Staff are all fantastic.

The home itself is light and sunny with a good feel about it. It’s very homely and we’ve always felt very welcome as visitors.

Observed excellent caring response to a fall. This is within the general context that we observe approximately twice a week, of staff who know the residents well and are genuinely caring.

My Mum moved in here in November 2019. She was only in three weeks when she was admitted to hospital. On returning at the end of December Mum has settled in. Staff are great. They have activities for the residents throughout the week. The family are made to feel very welcome.

Wellburn House is a gem of a care home. All the staff are professional, attentive and kind, and go the extra mile to make residents feel cared for and very much at home.
On coming to visit there is a lovely atmosphere and always a warm, friendly welcome. There are several areas to sit with family and the outlook onto the gardens is beautiful - good for the soul!

I feel very comfortable knowing my mother is being looked after so well and she is very happy here.

To place a parent in a care home is a very difficult decision however, my mam settled in straight away. This is down to a lovely presented home but more importantly, the wonderful staff who are always so very welcoming to visitors at the home too and can't do enough.

The resident has not been the easiest person to deal with during their stay at the home due to dementia issues.
Due to the care given the situation has improved greatly and they continue to provide a caring and professional service.

The home is nice and friendly and is always welcoming when I visit my friend. It is clean and warm.

I recently changed my Mother's home to Wellburn from another provider. My Mother has settled well and appears happy in her new home. She is cared for well and all staff are respectful and caring when meeting her needs. I have been informed of any issues with her health and wellbeing if they arise. The admin team are very helpful and always approachable if I have any queries, and can discuss any concerns I may have.

The care provided is what you would hope to expect with kind and caring staff, especially a few particular members of staff.
My dad is a bit of a character and does have the occasional mishap but it's comforting to know that the staff are there taking good care of him aiding his recovery.

I would recommend Wellburn House with its lovely well cared for gardens to anyone wanting a care home away from the town. Once the refurbishment is complete, it will be first class.

Extremely daunting to have to admit father to a care home, however after visiting, social worker advice and personal recommendation, we decided as a family to admit Dad for a respite stay, which was very successful, and then full admission.

The holistic care has been above and beyond expectation.

The manager and her team are friendly, professional and offer full wrap around care.

Many thanks.
