Liaison with the GP and healthcare teams was excellent and when my mother was admitted to hospital, the medical staff commented on the detailed and high standard of the paperwork provided by Willowdale. The only downside for me, although it did not directly affect my mother, was that there were several changes in management which, although mainly excellent, was sometimes mediocre. However, on a visit I paid to Willowdale this week, I was pleased to note that the period of managerial transition seems to be over and I believe the new manager has the vision to know what needs to be done and the ability to do it in order to make Willowdale excellent in every way.
My mother is always well kept ie hair done, clean clothes,

I have worked in the care sector for over 40 years, my very first position was a care support worker, working alongside the mental health, this was assisting clients to get back into the community how this was done was by the clients running a little fancy-dress shop and they were dealing with the public selling fancy dress items and also selling things they made in the work shop. From there, I furthered my career as a senior in an EMI home. I have worked in a majority of sectors, ranging from learning disabilities to drugs and alcohol and also mental health. This is where my passion thrived, working alongside Dementia residents. I also completed my Access to Nursing course and went on to university with the intention of becoming a mental health nurse. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances, this changed my career path. I pursued my career as a senior in a dual facility and progressed on to become the deputy manager.
I have been at Willowdale now for 14 months, and for 11 months of them I was deputy manager. I love working with our clientele; it’s one big happy family at our home. This allowed me to further my career as the home manager, and everyone at Willowdale, from the staff to the residents has welcomed my new position.
