Communication needs to be improved. Manager and deputy manager need to be far more visible. Shortage of staff is apparent and the turnover of staff is an issue that needs to be addressed. I was informed that no senior carer was on duty overnight (15/8/19). Is this acceptable? The newly appointed activities
organiser is to be congratulated on embarking on a much-improved programme. The chaplain is missed.

My aunt recently passed away at Coed Craig. It was the best thing being transferred back there rather than a community hospital. The staff were absolutely brilliant. She received first class care, 24 hours a day. They went above and beyond their call of duty. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They
genuinely loved and cared for her as if she was a member of their family.

My 92yr old mum, who suffered from dementia, passed away on 29th Sept 2018 at Coed Craig. She had been a resident there since February 2018 and throughout that time, I, as her daughter, cannot speak highly enough of the love, care and attention, respect and dignity she received from everyone involved
in her care there, especially during her end of life care when the decision was taken for Mum to remain at Coed Craig rather than be taken into hospital.
Coed Craig is run to a very high standard. The rooms are clean and well maintained, as is the entire home itself. The food is excellent and takes into account individual needs. Mum was always nicely turned out as are all the residents, personal hygiene is well taken care of. Medical records are well documented and family are always kept informed of any health issues as and when they may arise.
I would not hesitate to recommend Coed Craig, it was a great comfort to me knowing that Mum was being loved and so well cared for there by everyone.

My mother has been a resident of Coed Craig home for 5 years. During that time we have visited here announced at all times of the day. We have never seen anything out of place. The building is spotless and the residents are comfortable and generally happy. The home is blessed with a wonderful staff
who work well as a team to face all issues. The leadership of this team is complex and the management has shown exceptional skill in providing care.

My aunt was a resident for six years and her care was exemplary. The very same staff were there for all of those years which to me says what a well run and happy place it is. The management ensures that all the records and procedures are up to date. My aunt went into Coed Craig in a quite poor condition
and from that time she has thrived in a pleasant and happy atmosphere which as her immediate next of kind, gave me peace of mind knowing she could not be better cared for.

The home has provided excellent care for someone who can at times be difficult.
He was recently poorly and required hospitalisation on two occasions, They dealt with the emergencies in a prompt and competent manner. One of the emergencies was as a result of a fall and the medics were very impressed
with how the care home staff had dealt with his wound.
This gentleman has recently died aged 98 and all related matters have been dealt with in a dignified and compassionate way.

My mother, who passed away on the 9th November 2017, was a resident at the above home. She was 102 years old and had resided at Coed Craig for 17 years. She was extremely happy there and was treated excellently by staff. I can thoroughly recommend the home for the dignified and excellent care she was
given and would recommend them to anyone who was in a position that a loved one had to go into a residential home.

All of the staff at Coed Craig gave my mum exceptional care during her short stay there. They got to know her little ways and likes and dislikes very quickly and I never had any concerns or worries whilst she was in their care, which is a huge relief at this very sad time.
Not only were the staff wonderful
to her but also to the family whilst visiting her. We were always made welcome and found them all friendly and professional. Coed Craig is kept beautifully and run in a very well organised way.

Mum was treated very well throughout her five years at the home. She was always well cared for at all times, clean and happy. Her end of life care was excellent and she was treated with dignity throughout.


My only criticism throughout her last few years and final hours was the lack of spiritual

care from the Reverend attached to the home. He spent the majority of the time with people without dementia and offered no spiritual care to mum or me at the end.

My mother went to live at Coed Craig in January 2013 and stayed there until her death in April 2017. Throughout her residence, she was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. All the staff made her feel that she was living at home.
Throughout the progression of her dementia, she always felt
safe, relaxed and cared for. Not an easy task when someone's memory and comprehensive of what is happening to them can alter multiple times a day. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even my 2 dogs were always greeted with a smile, a personal hello and a warm welcome. We all knew that the staff regarded Coed Craig as mum's home and our visits were regarded as a welcome and positive experience for her. I cannot express strongly enough what a comfort it was to know that mum's needs were taken care of so diligently and with such compassion and love. Management, senior staff and the rest of the staff are superb.

The home is excellent. I go for lunch once a week to have lunch with my wife and are made very welcome. The activities are very good and are put on every day. The staff care for my wife and always ask about myself. The Chaplin visits most days and also has lunch with the residents which they enjoy.
I can go into the dining room and are welcome to make myself and my wife drinks when wanted. I cannot speak highly enough of Coed Craig and all of the staff.

The staff here are really excellent, friendly, empathic and very professional. The home is kept extremely well, always very clean and the laundry system is really good. The residents needs are very well served and their needs are often pre-empted by the staff. The food is well thought out with plenty
of fresh vegetables and there are always snacks available. The activities are good although perhaps more could happen at the weekends. Also it would be good if some of the residents could get out of the home e.g for a walk on the prom, This may of course not be possible due to staff ratio's.
