Overall very good place for my mother considering her condition and needs.

The best aspect is all the carers on the frontline are long term loyal employees whose top priority is the resident.

I have only been in this home since October but straight away was made to feel most welcome by all the staff. I feel safe in my environment and happy. All the staff are excellent and very professional in their approach. The food that is supplied is excellent and a wide variety. I feel I can recommend this establishment to others because of the wonderful attitude and dedication of all the staff. Thank you.

My husband and I searched through the lists of care homes in this area for my mum. We visited them all and decided on Bryn Eithin. We had a good feeling abut it and liked the stately design of the building.
We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff who are exceptional in their care for my mum.

The food is excellent as are the kitchen staff. We have only had the winter months here so hope that during the summer my mum will be able to benefit from the surrounding area and gardens. Very pleased.

As a family we could not ask for more, Mum is so well cared for - Bryn Eithin isn't just a place for her to live, it is her home where she is safe, warm, clean and really well fed by staff who care. All the staff go the extra mile to make sure every resident is made to feel special. All we hear about care homes is negative comments, but this care home is so very special. Mum has been in Bryn Eithin for a year now and all our concerns over her safety before she went into Bryn Eithin have vanished - it is a truly lovely place.

The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive and hard working which I consider to be the most important aspect of any care home. My mother is treated with compassion, dignity and they are very empathetic towards her condition. The food is nice as are the drinks (tea and coffee is readily available when requested). The managerial staff are also very helpful and nice and were fine about us installing a sky box in the home. The facilities are clean and the rooms are spacious and overall the value for money is undeniable. I would without a doubt recommend Bryn Eithin to a friend.

My sister was very unhappy living alone, her memory was failing, since being at Bryn Eithin she is a new woman she has company activities and wonderful meals all the staff are kind and they will spend time with each resident. Families are always welcomed and often have a meal with their relatives. An excellent choice of home.

The staff were very good at their job and helpful.
- My room was very nice and spacious but as recently decorated it smelt of paint.
- Meal times not ideal - especially evening meal at 3.45, too early.
- For my condition, the other residents seemed much older and more incapacitated - therefore not ideal company.
- There were very limited social activities and no outings - because of condition of many of the residents who preferred to sleep in the lounge.

- Lack of any more lounges.

Reply from Susan Hanson, Manager at Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home

We are sorry that on this occasion, the respite stay was not a fully enjoyable experience. I would like to respond to some of the comments, to help clarify. Our evening meal time is always at 4.45pm and never at 3.45pm, as commented. The residents range in ages with varying health. Our main...

From my first meeting with the home manager, through delivering my 95 year old mother and settling her in, to speaking with various staff members and finally getting my mother's opinion/verdict. I have been thoroughly impressed with the professionalism, friendliness and caring attitude that Bryn Eithin offers. It was my mother's first experience of respite care and she and I are happy to think it will not be the last.Full marks to all the staff.

The understanding regarding my extra care needed now I find it more difficult to walk around on my own. I now need to use a walking frame and need more help with personal care. It all takes extra time and I don't always understand why I need help, so the patience here is very good. Everyone is very kind.
