My friend has been in Bryn Eithin for around 3 months now and has settled well. The staff are always polite, attentive and the residents get involved in many activities. I would certainly describe Bryn Eithin Hall as a happy place for anyone requiring care.

My mother has lived at Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home for 7 weeks now. Her care has been excellent. The staff are amazing always treating her with dignity and respect. They also include me in her care and are always willing to listen to my queries. The house is beautiful and the food is excellent.
My mum moved from another care home where she was very unhappy, depressed and anxious. She is now a different woman; happy and relaxed. An increase in the number of activities available would be the icing on the cake!

My parents, aged 98 and 94, share a spacious double room with ensuite bathroom. All the staff, carers and other staff, at Bryn Eithin are always patient, kind and cheerful and have been flexible over mealtimes, diet and other requests made by my parents. There is a welcoming atmosphere when I visit
and the home is warm and nicely decorated. My parents' bedroom is always tidy, clothes and personal possessions put away in generous wardrobe and drawer space. Food is cooked on the premises by a good chef and my parents enjoy their meals. My only reservation would be that leisure activities appear to be limited, but apart from that, I would recommend Bryn Eithin to elderly people no longer able to live in their own home.

I have found the home to be very welcoming to visitors such as myself and helpful in giving information about my stepmother when requested. The staff are patient with her and understand her dementia and adapt their care and approach to her accordingly to allow for this. I am free to come and go when
I wish and drop in unannounced which is helpful as I live away from the home. When my father died in the home about fifteen months ago during the night, one of the staff stayed with him until he passed on which was a great comfort to me and my husband. I have been grateful for the overall care and duty that all the staff show to their residents at this late stage in their lives. I would recommend Bryn Eithin Hall.

My cousin has been in Bryn Eithin for 18 months now. During that time her care has been excellent. She looks better than she has in years! She settled in quickly and seems quite contented.

The staff are very good and treat the residents with respect. The overall atmosphere is very good and the management

are constantly improving the rooms and the building.

My mother states she is settled now (as settled as she is going to be). She is resigned to the fact that she now needs to be cared for. She is comfortable and says very well fed and all the staff are kind to her.

Bryn Eithin is a superb care home. The staff are friendly and willing, the manager is very helpful.
The food is good, the care is good, I find it exceptional.
My aunt is very happy, she does share a room but doesn't seem to mind.
The meal times are flexible, when I take her out they will keep her
tea for her. They are not rigid in any way. I am extremely lucky to have found such a great home for my aunty who is very happy.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.807)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.807) out of 10 for Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.907 for Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (97 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.907
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
