On arrival, the welcome was very warm and friendly. I had bought my dog who was made equally welcome and who quickly settled in. The food was as good as anticipated and personal requests were granted. The staff care is exceptional, I call them the "Dream Team". A couple provided entertainment of Country
and Western singing led by guitars, one resident danced to the music, others clapped most enjoyable.

Mum's second year and she is as happy as ever. Needed emergency treatment whilst I was on holiday and staff accompanied her to hospital, stayed with her until my brother arrived, then got two buses and a train home. Over and above expectations. Marvellous staff/management/care.

My father went to Bryn Eithin in August of this year. His main concerns were finding a home that was clean and with good food. Full marks for both of them! Dad settled in well and told me recently they are kind. Welsh is spoken by a number of staff and the atmosphere is homely.

The staff at Bryn Eithin are very hardworking and do their best to accommodate any requests my Aunt makes. My Aunt doesn't join in any of the activities but I know there is a variety of events to keep the residents entertained. The food is excellent and served to the residents' requirements.

I have known Bryn Eithin for about two years now since my friend became a resident. She seems very well looked after, well dressed, clean, well-fed and looked after in every way. When there is a health problem, the doctor or dentist has been called. She says she is very happy and that all the carers
and staff are very friendly and helpful.

We chose Bryn Eithin for my dad following a three month hospital stay when he felt he could no longer live independently.
From the first visit we were made to feel very welcome and he has been supported, encouraged and cared for sensitively by all the staff in their various roles for six months now.
We are reassured knowing that Dad is safe and secure and he is very happy in his new home with staff who feel to all of us like an extension of our family.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.807)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.807) out of 10 for Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.907 for Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (97 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.907
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bryn Eithin Hall Residential Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
